Have raised concerns about scanning engines and automation while continuing to rely on layered protection strategies
Incident response is something that requires more development from Barracuda's side. Regarding room for improvement for Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response, for the product, developing or improving the scanning engine is important, but it's a bit tricky. I know that they are working on it heavily. The difference between Barracuda and Sophos is Sophos focused heavily on cybersecurity while Barracuda tried to increase their product portfolio. Sometimes, in some cases, this might end up with their teams being unfocused or a bit thin and stretched and super busy. However, there is room for improvement. The product is great. The teams that are supporting are great. But there is always room for improvement. Even if you have a product that you would give a rating of 10 out of 10, there is always room for improvement. The day we stop improving is the day we die. Regarding the scanning engine, Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response has a very good feature where you can create automated flows for how to handle specific emails that are detected as incidents. This needs a bit of an improvement. That's the only component of Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response that I believe requires improvement.

Reduces detection and response times through automation and alert correlation
The best features that Trellix Helix Connect offers are SOAR, automation, hyperautomation, and the correlation of alerts and threat intelligence, for example, when the alerts cross through MITRE ATT&CK, which stand out most to me. Out of those features, automation, alert correlation, and threat intelligence have made my work easier and more effective as we integrate many cybersecurity solutions into the XDR and set up the use cases to reduce MTTD and MTTR from days to minutes. I would add that the level of integration with other brands is something that surprises me about the features of Trellix Helix Connect. Trellix Helix Connect has positively impacted my organization as it is the most important tool to provide MDR service to our clients, which has resulted in specific outcomes and improvements.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The beauty of Barracuda Email Protection is that it is easy to manage and simple to deploy."
"The most helpful aspect for me is the out-of-the-box configuration, which is fairly good."
"We now have a secondary backup of Office 365 that's much easier to retrieve compared to Microsoft. If someone deletes something in Office 365, we can get it back within Office 365, but it's difficult. Barracuda is much easier. There is a lot less management needed using Barracuda. The management becomes much easier for Office 365 and it's no longer on-prem, so there are fewer hours managing on-prem devices, servers, and things of that nature. We don't have network appliances anymore for the backup of our information."
"The solution is straightforward to set up."
"The solution's most valuable feature is impersonation detection."
"The most valuable features of Barracuda Email Protection are flexibility and customization."
"The archiving and search features are very good."
"The best feature of Barracuda Email Protection is that it provides protection for Microsoft 365."
"The integration is very useful and very easy. You can have an API connection with any cloud and I'll be able to do both ways of communication with the help of APA."
"We are able to block some advanced malware and other things."
"Trellix Helix helps prevent email attacks, like phishing and email spoofing attacks."
"Trellix Helix Connect has positively impacted my organization as it is the most important tool to provide MDR service to our clients, which has resulted in specific outcomes and improvements."
"I advise other customers to choose Trellix Helix, as it improves operations significantly with more efficient responses required for various scenarios they face."
"I like that it's easy. It's got the protection set up, and we can see whatever is required. We write our own rules and the rules that we can input. I think it is good."
"As far as its core functionality goes, it’s spot-on."
"We have started working with various customers, one of whom is particularly concerned about adjacency. We have identified several use cases where automation is possible."

Cons

"Considering it integrates with Azure, I would like to be able to effectively set up policies where people are by default included in certain settings."
"The product must enable bulk user management."
"They could simplify the licensing and the pricing."
"I would like to see some additional functionality in terms of employee monitoring, as part of a work-from-home security solution."
"Considering it integrates with Azure, I would like to be able to effectively set up policies where people are by default included in certain settings."
"Sometimes, in some cases, this might end up with their teams being unfocused or a bit thin and stretched and super busy."
"I would like to see better integration with other products."
"Sometimes it is somewhat laggy, especially on the Archiver side. It should have improved performance on their Message Archiver."
"Trellix needs to address the price for the product to be more appealing to customers."
"Sometimes the rules are disabled by FireEye, and we basically get it after the patch. I think there needs to be a better way of creating the application rules. I would like to see better pricing for our licensing."
"The graphical user interface could be improved. It's not easy to handle and it's not easy for a customer or end-user to learn how to manage the solution."
"We have certain challenges with integrating the SOAR platform with multiple vendors."
"While we have top customer support and this solution is highly beneficial, there is room for improvement due to the fusion of McAfee and FireEye, which has caused some lapses in support."
"There is room for improvement in the integration capabilities of third-party tools."
"FireEye Helix would be improved with the option of an on-prem version, which they don't currently offer."
"I think the usability of hyperautomation is something to improve in the solution because it is expensive regarding the needed improvements."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Despite a list price possibly around $40 per user, their market price allows customers to easily buy the solution."
"The product is expensive."
"The price of Barracuda Essentials is better than some of the competing products."
"Price-wise, this product is middle-of-the-road."
"Barracuda licensing model is good."
"We didn't have to pay a lot for the solution because we got it from a good vendor with a good user volume."
"The price is similar to that of Microsoft 365."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten."
"FireEye Helix is a little expensive."
"It could be cheaper, but that applies to every product."
"I rate Trellix Helix a five out of ten for pricing."
"The price could be better. But I think it's rightly placed when we buy everything in one shot, and we get some discount for that. That's how we basically plan our deployment, and it's holistic. We pay for the license yearly."
