SAP Cloud Platform Reviews

Our existing customers who are on ECC are on-premises. They are migrating to SAP Cloud Platform, specifically on S4HANA. 

One of our clients was on SAP ECC on-premises, and they are moving to the cloud on S4HANA on the public cloud system. 

We are supporting about 15 customers, mostly small to medium enterprises, with SAP Cloud Platform.

The SAP Cloud Platform has helped streamline our implementation processes. The Grow Platform makes implementation easier, reducing the cycle to about four to five months, which allows us to be up and running faster.

I work as a Technical Consultant in S/4HANA and have experience with SAP Cloud Platform for around one year and two months. I used to implement SAP S/4HANA Cloud-based solutions, and I am currently working on-premises in Pakistan, resolving issues and providing solutions for organizations.

The most proficient feature of SAP Cloud Platform is integration for data services linked with Fiori apps. Fiori apps allow businesses to directly check all details of their business processes graphically, making it easier to manage and understand data.

We primarily use SAP Cloud Platform as an ERP system.

Having mobile access was a significant help. We used to log in to desktop computers to perform many functions. Now, we can operate from anywhere. Additionally, consolidating what used to be handled by four or five different platforms has become easier. 

Previously, even though we had SAP products, due to their on-premises nature, we never consolidated all aspects despite having the licenses. Now, being a cloud-based platform, we can use more features with ease, supporting remote and mobile access.

I work in the manufacturing industry, where we use SAP Cloud Platform as an in-house tool to handle sales, distributions, and invoices. We use the too for our ERP operations in our manufacturing plant.

I have used HANA Cloud Integration (HCI) and then SAP Cloud Platform's suite. I have used all the versions of the cloud platform till now. It is used for business use cases, like transferring supply chain-related details or bank information, material, and transition data. The tool is used for basic business use cases in our company.

The tool offers pre-packaged content that doesn't require building a network. It also quickly helps you use the standard APIs. Many of the tool's features are pretty good and help me deliver the solution quickly.

SAP Cloud Platform allows flexibility in integrating with other applications and supports customizations. There are two main deployment options: public cloud and private cloud. Public cloud, while generally more restrictive regarding customization, is suitable for many business models. On the other hand, the private cloud edition offers greater flexibility and customization capabilities.

SAP Cloud Platform serves two primary functions, one of which is supply chain management. The Titan cycle is efficiently managed through SAP, which distinguishes it from other ERP systems. The costing model allows for precise cost calculations tailored to specific manufacturing facilities, crucial for production and cost analysis. These capabilities, alongside robust supply chain management, position the SAP Cloud Platform as a pivotal tool in hosted system functions.

SAP Cloud Platform is an enterprise ERP for all our production, planning, procurement, and finance.

SAP Cloud Platform's performance is much faster than the on-premises solution because of continuous fine-tuning by their team. This avoids our headache for on-premises. Many reports are coming faster, and access is faster. The transactions are happening very fast right now. SAP Cloud Platform provides seamless integration with many known products.

We focus on the cloud platform because clients and customers are moving from on-premises solutions to cloud-based software as a service. With cloud platform integration, it becomes much easier to extend SAP's core capabilities, especially SAP S/4HANA, and integrate with other SaaS solutions. The cloud platform is much more powerful than other SAP on-premises integration platforms.

The use cases I have worked on mostly involve SaaS integrations with on-premises solutions. This includes SuccessFactors, SAP S/4HANA on-premises, and procure-to-pay. These major use cases include procure-to-pay, supplier onboarding, and hire-to-retire processes.

The tool's most valuable aspects are the niche technologies and the latest editions. The way these updates are rolled out makes it easy to manage because clients and customers are not responsible for keeping everything up to date. It's SAP's responsibility, which makes it much easier to take advantage of the new features they roll out every month.

One feature that stands out is the integration of the platform, especially with SAP. We couldn't do much orchestration with the legacy on-premises PI/PO. It was mostly about transferring data from source to target. However, we can perform multiple steps from start to finish with Cloud Platform Integration. This includes data manipulation and retrieving data from different sources along the way. These capabilities make integration developers much easier.

I haven't worked specifically with workflows since I focus mostly on the integration suite. However, the integration suite is more powerful than on-premises solutions.

In terms of security, it's similar to any other IPaaS. I think we do have a few hyperscalers run algorithms to decode the data. However, on top of the regular hyperscalers' algorithms, SAP Cloud Platform has specific encryption algorithms. For example, if I deploy a certificate or credentials, they encrypt every artifact. For sensitive data, we use encryption and decryption to keep the data safe. To comply with regulations, the SAP Cloud Platform also offers integration zones to keep integrations within the customer's data centers. This way, sensitive data stays within the customer's landscape, even though it is processed by the tool's IPaaS. 

I use SAP Cloud Platform in my company as an integration tool primarily focused on SAP products.

SAP Cloud Platform is a new tool in the market, so it's still not mature enough as it still lacks a lot of features. SAP Cloud Platform primarily focuses on SAP integrations, so it might work better if you have SAP's Digital Core. Tools like Salesforce or ServiceNow, are better choices than SAP Cloud Platform.
