What is Serverless360?

Serverless360 is a platform to manage and monitor Azure Serverless components related to enterprise integration. In a real-time scenario, the integrated cloud applications are not built with a single technology stack, it typically involves at least 3 or 4 different Azure Services. Currently, Azure Portal is designed more on vertical technology silos and it's difficult to visualize and manage such connected solutions. So Serverless360 is presented by the vendor as a tool that users can depend on to manage and monitor all distributed Azure Serverless components.

With Serverless360 you can;
1. Manage Serverless Applications
2. Get in-depth tooling support
3. Monitor distributed Azure Services
4. Maintain high-level Security
5. Get governance and audit reports
6. Choose your hosting model - SaaS and Private Hosting

Centralized, great for performing corrective actions and has a helpful Business Activity Monitoring module
Pros and Cons
  • "It offers all the core capabilities we need to manage and monitor our Azure services."
  • "The user interface of Serveress360 could be improved a bit to make the platform even easier to use."

What is our primary use case?

We used the product mainly to manage our more than five different Azure services that were in our production environment.

Serverless360 also stands out with its ability to track the flow of messages across your applications involving different Azure and on-premise services, visualize the data trends on interactive dashboards, and alert and investigate critical issues whenever a business transaction fails.

It is great when you even want to perform corrective actions on failed message transactions and process them for a successful resubmission.

How has it helped my organization?

It offers all the core capabilities we need to manage and monitor our Azure services. The most significant advantage appears to be its ability to provide everything in one place.

Also, Serverless360's Business Activity Monitoring module has one feature that I personally like: it doesn't just alert when a transaction fails; it also allows reprocessing them so that business failures can be quickly corrected.

Serverless360 transformed the way our organizations manage Azure and hybrid integrations.

What is most valuable?

Serverless360 currently has four main features, comprising management, monitoring, distributed tracing, and generating documentation. Among these, documenting the entire Azure environment is one of the most beloved features of our organization.

It provides auto-generated technical documentation with deep insights into Azure resource usage and the overall cost spent on those resources within a matter of minutes. The icing on the cake was to publish the generated documentation in both the online and offline modes.

What needs improvement?

1) The user interface of Serveress360 could be improved a bit to make the platform even easier to use.

2) The addition of management and monitoring features for Cognitive services, Power Automate, and a few more Azure services.

3) It would be much better if it is a multi-cloud management/monitoring platform.

4) The consolidated error reports sent via the alerting channels can be a bit more intuitive.

5) Their customer support was good but good technical documentation or feature videos can be even more helpful.

Great topic subscription monitoring, helpful management, and useful for audits
Pros and Cons
  • "Service Bus topic subscription monitoring turned out to be the most useful for us."
  • "Addition of more monitoring features to Azure Cosmos DB can be a huge help as we use the same as the main database for our applications."

What is our primary use case?

We have an Azure solution that includes several Service Bus queues, topics, and subscriptions; here the problem for us was to do both management and monitoring.

We initially leveraged Service Bus Explorer for management and Azure Monitors to monitor the Service Bus, where we struggled a bit moving between two different tools. That is exactly where Serverless360 helped us by bringing in both Service Bus management and monitoring under the same hood.

Serverless360 also served as a great alternative for Service Bus Explorer with its advanced message processing capabilities.

How has it helped my organization?

Operations that can be performed on the messages in Service Bus queues and topic subscriptions through Service Bus Explorer are limited. It can only perform management operations like create, read, update, and delete and Data operations like send, receive, and peek on queues, topics, and subscriptions.

However, our real-time business demanded the need to resubmit, repair, and resubmit and purge along with governance and audit. This is where Serverless360 became a perfect fit for Service Bus management.

What is most valuable?

Service Bus topic subscription monitoring turned out to be the most useful for us. Even though Service Bus topics can be monitored through Azure Monitors, monitoring the subscriptions associated with each of those topics was hard. However, that feature was our main demand as we were looking to monitor the dead-lettered messages that were mounting on the individual topic subscriptions. Serverless360 mitigated this challenge and supported monitoring the topic subscriptions on different metrics like dead-letter message count, active message count, etc.

What needs improvement?

Addition of more monitoring features to Azure Cosmos DB can be a huge help as we use the same as the main database for our applications.

One more thing to note is that their support team was always ready to clear all our doubts regarding the product but we feel that it would be much appreciated if they could share with us the required resources to get new customers like us well-versed in traversing through different modules of the product. These are the very few areas where Serverless360 can be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for six months.
