What is our primary use case?
The main cases are Juniper Versa, the APs, and the firewall. Right now, a customer in Bangalore needs an SRX340 firewall for 200 users. I recommended the Juniper SRX340, as it would be sufficient for their needs.
We handle customers from various industries, including banking, warehouses, and more. We serve both small and big customers.
How has it helped my organization?
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the Mist AI. If customers use services like Microsoft Teams and experience issues, they can ask the Mist AI where the problem lies. Additionally, Juniper Mist allows for dynamic packet capture. Every single packet is analyzed by Mist, which helps us troubleshoot and solve problems.
Mist AI is a very powerful feature. Juniper is the only company that has introduced AI into networking.
It's performance. We can manage all the access points and see what our customers are using on Mist Juniper PC. We can analyze the data. For example, if someone uses a VPN in a firewall, in my company, we use Sophos firewall, Fortinet switch, and Juniper AP. We can't track it with the Sophos firewall, but we can track the data with the AP. Right now, I block social media platforms that our employees uses in the company.
Juniper allows our networking team to easily identify this. For instance, if our employees are spending too much time on YouTube, we can block YouTube on the APs, not just on the firewall. The firewall can set a policy, but we can block it on the APs as well.
Additionally, if our Juniper Mist license expires, Juniper will continue to run the normal operations, but we can't change any configurations in the future if the license is expired.
What needs improvement?
HP recently acquired Juniper, and I'm not happy about that. Juniper is a brand, and HP acquired them because of Juniper's data center capabilities. Juniper is a leader in providing networking solutions for all environments.
Also, the cost is higher for Juniper. If a customer has a budget of two lakhs, I can suggest Juniper products. But customers don't usually complain that Juniper products are too expensive. The main point I disagree with Juniper on is the price. Juniper should make the products more affordable.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with this solution for a year.
I've worked with Juniper AP32, AP45, Juniper firewalls, and Juniper switches. Recently, I completed a project with Juniper Spine, and the client was very happy with the licensing.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's very stable. It's good, it's awesome. It's almost ten on ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten.
We handle small, medium, and enterprise customers.
How are customer service and support?
It's awesome. Juniper support is very good.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have hands-on experience with Juniper, Check Point, and Fortinet.
I prefer Juniper products because of their AI, solutions, and overall quality. If a customer has a limited budget, I would still recommend Juniper.
Their products are unique, and their AI is much better than the others. Juniper is the only company that has successfully introduced AI into networking.
How was the initial setup?
The implementation and setup of Juniper are great. Juniper is always there to support us, and we are always there for our customers. They are also constantly upgrading their products.
Overall, if someone asks me about my expertise in networking, I would definitely share points about Juniper, not the other products. I dislike Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco, and Palo Alto, but I love Juniper.
I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being the easiest.
Some of our customers use it on-premises, and some use it in the cloud.
For API, it takes half an hour to set up, no longer than that.
For a switch, it takes an hour, and for a firewall, it also takes about an hour.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
If a customer has a budget of around five lakhs in Indian currency, they can afford Juniper products. But for a new customer with a budget of around two lakhs, I wouldn't recommend Juniper because it's expensive.
If someone is willing to invest in Juniper, I'm happy with that. However, if a customer has a limited budget, my team would recommend products like Fortinet or others. It depends on the customer's budget.
I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being very expensive.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate the product a ten out of ten.
I always recommend Juniper products because Juniper introduced AI into networking. If you are expanding your network, you should continue with Juniper, not other brands. Your infrastructure, startup, business, and company will run smoothly. I guarantee it.
