Manage certifications and reduce the workload for certification processes
The benefit of using SailPoint IdentityIQ is that it significantly reduces the workload for certification processes. Before implementing IdentityIQ, the corporation relied heavily on manual methods to gather accounts and permissions for review. Each host machine had to be checked manually to ensure account collection accuracy, followed by manually identifying accounts for certification. This entire process was labor-intensive, with human involvement at every step. It took about a month to gather notification data and initiate the certification process. Tracking the status of certifications was challenging since it was managed through Excel, making it difficult to determine completion percentages. Once all certifications were completed, SailPoint shifted through Excel sheets to finalize reports. With IdentityIQ, the process is streamlined, reducing the time required for certification, and it also has an automated aggregation of accounts, assets, and groups. There's no opportunity for human error or intentional concealment of accounts, enhancing security.

Serves as a central repository where you can see all of your file servers from the GUI but calculations can be slow and require time to process
The most valuable feature, in my opinion, is that it serves as a central repository where you can see all of your file servers from the GUI. There are two interfaces: the web version and the graphical user interface (GUI) available on local machines. Another valuable feature is the ability to easily apply restrictions through Varonis, without having to manually configure permissions on individual servers. You can remotely register, block, or enable server or file permissions from one central location. This can be done in bulk as well. I also appreciate the reporting feature, which allows for the extraction of various reports based on specific needs. These reports can be used for audit purposes, such as tracking changes in file locations or deletions. Additionally, Varonis offers data classification capabilities. You can manually create classifications and categorize data accordingly. After a short processing time, you have visibility into where specific types of data are located. There are many other aspects of Varonis worth mentioning, as I learn something new about it every day. However, I have now transitioned to the Microsoft platform and primarily work with Power BI, so my Varonis usage is limited these days.

Cons

"Finding integration experts for SailPoint in the North American market can be challenging, and transitioning to a no-code or low-code setup could reduce dependence on specialized skills."
"SailPoint IdentityIQ needs to improve its customization. It should also incorporate some standardized tools for implementation."
"Some setups should be done in the interface and in the code, and could be made simpler."
"It is too technical. You need really good technical skills in Java and other technologies, which are hard to find. If they can make it easier so that things can be done with a few clicks, it will be great."
"The product’s cloud offering could be flexible."
"It tends to be more expensive, but at the end of the day, it works."
"It is not readily available and cannot be downloaded from the net."
"Compared to at least one other product some of the administrative tasks could be easier or more intuitive."
"One area for improvement is the calculation engine. When applying rules in Varonis, especially for large datasets (terabytes of data), the calculations can be slow and require time to process. Speeding up this process would be beneficial."
"There is one thing that if I add something manually, I get so many alerts. That's the biggest bad thing."
"The product is very complicated."

"SailPoint IdentityIQ is highly-priced, and I rate it an eight out of ten for pricing."
"Usually, the cost of deploying about 5,000 licenses or 5,000 users, would be the equivalent to the cost of the license, which would be reaching up to around $90,000."
"SailPoint is higher in price as compared to Saviynt. The initial cost of SailPoint is very high. There are additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"The pricing is good. It neither expensive nor cheap. It is average."
"It's expensive, kind of, really expensive."
