We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"PPM Pro provides managers the insight they need to empower decision-making. The data is always in the tool. It's just making sure people are using it correctly. We track the requests as they come in. We track our demand by each of our teams within IT and then estimate that effort so that we can see if we are getting a lot of requests to certain teams. We check the demand versus capacity as those items come in.""I liked the dashboards because I need to report out on tasks completed in the last two weeks, tasks scheduled for the next two weeks, what the risks and health are. What I've been able to do is create reports based on that and then put those reports into a dashboard. The old reporting was clunky, but the beta reports got better. But then I couldn't add the beta reports to the dashboards so now they released the new beta dashboards and it works great. It does everything I need to do.""The timesheet & staffing management function gives us clarity in terms of how capacity planning has to happen and how much actual effort is going into the programs. The risk and project status information gets captured in the project gives more clarity for stakeholders to understand how the programs are running. We have only explored a portion of the application features so far.""Time tracking, portfolio management reporting, and what-if analysis create visibility into project planning, resource capacity, and demand planning.""Daptiv is a project management tool, so it's pretty straightforward. The ability to manage projects and programs has been beneficial for us.""In my current company, it provides a quicker ramp up to understand what it can do for people by taking away all their barriers to entry: time, managing resources, and linking projects.""The most valuable feature of this solution is that my team can use one tool that's reliable, scalable, and provides the leadership team visibility to what's going on.""It has a nice dashboard view, so you can analyze the progress on a project from a single place. It provides a nice graphical representation of all the project management with visualizations of Gantt chart and customized reports. You can easily track all your progress on project tasks and flag any issues."

"It integrates so well with other Zoho applications, and that really helps to extend the features of Zoho Projects.""The product can be seamlessly integrated into our CRM.""While integrating a voice solution with Zoho Projects, the focus was on creating a unified interface for voice and customer engagement across various platforms like Facebook, social media, and emails. The primary goal was to seamlessly merge the two platforms into a single interface. To achieve this, we engaged in API integrations and worked on aspects such as initializing, authentication, and access control.""Timesheets and the ability to add attachments are very valuable features to us.""It is a scalable solution.""We were able to track each department's work and what they were doing inside the actual department. Gantt charts are useful to track departmental progress and operation, or we are that item stuff.""The most valuable feature of Zoho Projects is all integrated into one. We don't have to start using multiple tools, such as Projects, CRM, Marketing, Automation, Finance, and setting up Meetings. It's all in one solution. I don't have to go to multiple different platforms to have all the features I need.""We can integrate Zoho Projects with Zoho CRM."

Cons
"There should be the ability to store historical functions, but this is not just for this tool. It is applicable to many tools. It would be great if we were able to store specific historical data, such as risk management.""The resource management tab is clunky, inefficient, and slow. And from a portfolio manager perspective, it would be nice if there were an easier way to view enterprise-wide resourcing to manage my team more effectively.""This solution does not work well as a task management system because it is very difficult to expand beyond just the basic tasks, and this would be a worthwhile area for improvement.""Additional Agile capabilities, including integration with the Agile development app, would be welcome features.""The initial setup was a little complex. There is so much to customize. It'd be good to have some templates out-of-the-box.""The calculated field area needs improvement. There are a lot of formulas and functions available to make a calculated field, but it is still not comprehensive. We process the data to represent it through a report or dashboard. Due to the current constraints, for complex calculations, we do the data processing outside PPM Pro.""The downside to the way the solution tracks time is if your project manager doesn't add you to the project, you won't see it on your timesheet, even if you did do work.""I think PPM Pro is going to release a resource self-service admin which is going to duplicate the standard groups. I think that will help us a lot because right now a standard group has their own permission and we don't know what permission is getting out to the users. After the resource self-service admin will be in place, I think we will be in a much better position in terms of the formation profile."

"We'd like to have milestone features.""The telephone support provided by the support team should become better.""It is not easy to drag and drop a task from one person to the other. I think the resolution for the issue is work in progress. The product's stability can be improved.""The only room for improvement over here is a feature related to the trend, like AI-related things that we can expect need to be introduced.""The solution’s interface should be improved.""Its template management feature could be easier to use.""Sometimes the solution does not work.""The tool should add live chat, live call, and live meeting features where clients can communicate."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The cost was in line."
  • "$6 million has been the return on investment so far, and that was because of work intake. Now that we are scrutinizing the work intake and asking questions like, "Is there an alternative to your $10 million project?" We had one project come in for $10 million, scrutinize it through our gate review process, and wound up with the alternative, which was $3.8 million. So, a $6 million savings."
  • "We have their Flex plan."
  • "Because we have PPM Pro with Project place, we transitioned to the Flex model."
  • "A collaboration of all their tools truly gets the biggest bang for the buck."
  • "Bulk volume discounts are a little better. Right now we have to buy in lots of 20 at $200 a license. That's a little steep. For example, with Service Now, I pay $48 a seat for a license."
  • "Pricing was fair and I thought it was comparable to the other ones that we looked at. Other than ServiceNow, it was the most expensive, but we knew we were going to get a lot of value for that, so we went with it. We paid $40,000 for the implementation and for the workshops."
  • "The pricing for me is more about understanding your own needs in the company because it is one license for one person model. So, you have to really understand how many licenses you need and what may be the influx of your staff. The good thing about Daptiv is that we just need a quick telephone call to our customer success manager if we want to increase our licensing. It takes a day or two to do. So, we can upscale very quickly. We've never downscaled, but I'm guessing if we had to, we'd have to wait till the contract completes or renegotiate a different licensing cost. So, you definitely need to understand what different types of licenses provide from a functionality point of view, and then order 10% more than you need based on the influx of staff in the company. There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees. We have the report functionality for which we pay separately for 10 hours per month."
