Newcomers benefit from automation and user-friendly integration
PeopleSoft is affordable for existing customers only, not for new customers. The popularity is declining for several reasons. Resources are moving to cloud solutions such as Workday cloud. Even though it is the same Oracle environment, professionals are transitioning due to challenges in availability, scalability, and resource allocation. When there are limited hiring opportunities for a particular technology, professionals must consider switching technologies either internally within their organization or personally. If a project ends and someone is placed on bench without new opportunities, they often need to switch to technologies with more market demand. Currently, resources are frequently moving to other ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, Mulesoft, and Salesforce, as there are numerous ERP systems in the marketplace.

A customizable, end-to-end solution for Performance Management, Learning, and Succession Planning
* There should be a feature for succession managers to add employee-specific comments so that it is visible only to the manager. * Not sure how this can be made easier, but the development of interface from the core HR system to this system is a tedious and time-consuming process, involving multiple iterations of modifications and testing. * Analytics is one area where this system really needs a large improvement because currently, it has only basic reporting features.

Centralized management, useful information storage, but can feel clunky
We have found value in Work.com because it gave us a central place for capturing any opportunities-related information, such as client-related information. Additionally, it is a place for storing this information. Anyone in the organization, if it was being updated actively by the people or by the sales team, could have access to it. Once the contact information is there about any client, then it stays there. If you are approaching a client, you are able to check if there's any history. It's a good tool, but it all depends on how disciplined the sales team is in entering the information regularly.

Pros

"The new version of this solution is very scalable."
"It is a very stable ERP solution. It is also supported on Oracle Cloud and provides extensive features."
"A valuable feature is HCM."
"A solid and mature product."
"The most valuable feature is the module integration, which saves time through transclusion - using a single record across multiple modules."
"PeopleSoft is an amazing solution. Its users can have total control of the system, including PeopleCode, Application Engine and Component Interface, along with many other tools delivered by PeopleSoft."
"Peoplesoft is the best payroll software in the market."
"I would recommend the solution. It's very stable and scalable, which makes it a reliable solution."
"System usability has improved to a large extent and our manual effort has been reduced."

Cons

"PeopleSoft should be more flexible with the configuration. There should be less coding and more configuration."
"Tools and UI could be enhanced."
"The Work Center feature in PeopleSoft is a step in the right direction in consolidating someone's role-based interaction with the system. This enhanced functionality streamlines workflows and improves efficiency."
"Services that need improvement include PeopleSoft Query, Pivot Grids, and PeopleSoft Test Framework."
"The UI and user experience are not great, and it's not as feature-rich as today's systems. Furthermore, our implementation does not include all the components we need, like payroll or some other functions."
"It would be nice if it became even more declarative in its development."
"The learning and development side of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The implementation of PeopleSoft is quite complex and is not as easy as other cloud products such as SuccessFactor or Workday."
"Analytics is one area where this system really needs a large improvement because currently, it has only basic reporting features."
"I found Work.com a bit clunky. There were too many fields, but maybe that was the design. It could be company-specific to me. There were overlapping fields and sometimes it was confusing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Check all options before a decision is made."
"The expenses related to the solution are nominal."
"PeopleSoft has a yearly maintenance fee."
"Yearly payments are to be made toward the licensing costs of PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft is not very expensive, so I feel it is an affordable product."
"We are a University and the cost and license are negotiated privately."
"The tool is expensive."
"I don't know if they are still providing licenses or if they have suspending licenses."
"I would consider this to be an expensive product, but the quality justifies it."
"Licensing is quite flexible, but please ensure that you have the right team negotiating with them."
