Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Cost-effective, integrates with the Office tools, and allows us to articulate all entities across the enterprise on one platform
The refresh cycles for our dashboards could be better. I keep complaining about that. The refresh is supposed to be once a day, but I would love it if it was real-time so that if I make a change to the data in iServer, I should see those changes immediately reflected in the dashboards. They use Power BI, and it seems they've scheduled their refresh to be once a day, which is not that good for us. We've had some issues with the integration between Visio and iServer because sometimes the add-in that allows you to do that integration takes a lot of memory and then your Visio crashes. However, I've not experienced this issue for some time, so it was probably fixed in the recent version. Also, if I copy a large amount of data and I want to copy from one Visio file to another, I have had a case where it suddenly just closes Visio without saving. So, that integration could be more smooth. There should be ease of integration with other systems in our environment such as SysAid. I understand that there is an integration to ServiceNow, but we use SysAid. We need to be able to say that when there's an incident that impacts or requires a change in a particular component, ServiceNow or SysAid should be able to communicate to Orbus that this component is about to change. Similarly, when it comes to discovery or when a new architecture change has happened in the enterprise, we should be able to detect the change in the baseline Enterprise Architecture. There should be such advanced automation. The visibility of our models is limited to those to whom we have assigned licenses. I would've loved it if everyone in the organization could at least see the diagrams. The licensing should be there for those who need to make updates or changes.

Current setup enables smooth problem-solving but lacks comprehensive guidance and local support
More information about setup procedures and a more user-friendly front end would be beneficial. We need more information for setup processes. It is difficult to do the work independently, requiring us to hire external companies for maintenance hours to fix small issues that could be resolved faster in-house if we had better information. We have been looking for an upgrade version, but finding local service has been difficult. It has been challenging trying to get things done. Speaking with the Microsoft office, we found there are no local companies with substantial experience with SCSM. What we have now was installed five or six years ago. It has been difficult to change configurations and look for upgrades, even with all the manuals. Our office is considering moving away from SCSM and getting a service desk solution outside of Microsoft. For me, it has been a good tool to get help and solve internal problems in the office. It is a very good tool, but the difficulty in getting local service or more information is pushing us to look for another tool.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For people looking for my recommendation for an automation product, I definitely would recommend Automation Anywhere instead of going for a more orthodox or older technology."
"The most valuable feature is that it is intuitive. It is designed so business users can use it with a drag and drop functionality to develop automation of business processes. Since they are the experts on business processes, there are probably the best ones to create the automation."
"AA allows you to create processes using 3 types of robots: Task Bot, Meta Bot, and IQ Bot. Instead of rewriting redundant code for processes, a meta bot can be used instead. This type of robot is best used for complex scalable processes. IQ Bot: The most powerful of the 3 types of robots is the IQ Bot."
"Automation Anywhere has significantly improved our organization's efficiency. Across various processes, we have achieved a 90% time savings for each use case, making our workflow much more streamlined and productive."
"Not all tools give us the clear utilization of the infrastructure in place but this does and trust me, this has been proved far better than other RPA tools and that is why I see AA booming day by day."
"We have increased our productivity internally by using RPA with our employees who are completing the same tasks every day."
"So far, the organization has 20+ bots, which has generated more than $50K of ROI."
"On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine."
"The most valuable features are mainly the reporting side of things and the dashboard."
"I like the integration with the Office tools such as Visio and Excel. The integration with Excel helped us to be able to upload data very easily. Integration with Visio helps us to be able to make changes once and have a centralized diagram. We don't have versions of the diagram. This integration with the Office tools is very useful."
"SCSM is easy to learn because all of the material, including training videos, can be found online."
"Microsoft System Center Service Manager is a good product; it seems very easy and is better than most of the other solutions, which often have only a few features and cannot do what Microsoft can do."
"SCCM provides remote tool functionality, which is not in Intune."
"The reporting is very good."
"If it is correctly configured, you can access and give service quickly to all the end users."
"The solution's setup process is relatively straightforward due to the familiar deployment steps similar to other Microsoft solutions."
"The solution offers good productivity at a low price point."
"It is an amazing solution but the pricing could be improved to be a little more competitive."

Cons

"With our current version, we are experiencing issues with the access of the Control Room. Therefore, at the moment, we cannot really scale."
"I would like to have the MetaBot screen name title dynamic instead of static."
"In a cost-sensitive industry like banking, where automation needs to prove clear ROI, a more flexible pricing structure would assist organizations in expanding automation more aggressively without feeling constrained by budget considerations."
"I'd like to see the OCR feature be perfected. Today we get an accuracy ratio from OCR of around 40 percent to 50 percent only."
"Automation Anywhere courses are a little bit complex to understand. You need a little bit more time, and accessibility is also a little bit of an issue."
"We have still not explored Automation Anywhere to its full potential, so I will restrict myself from commenting on improvement areas at this time."
"They have incorporated many latest technologies, such as AI, and there is always scope to improve the processes and have more stability."
"Built-in HTML features are lagging in this solution, whereas in UiPath, they are very good."
"We found a few issues with importing data and all the manipulation of data, especially when it came to the BI side of things because it utilized a particular template to be able to get certain reports. The user administrators could not manipulate it to get the right reports."
"The refresh cycles for our dashboards could be better. I keep complaining about that. The refresh is supposed to be once a day, but I would love it if it was real-time so that if I make a change to the data in iServer, I should see those changes immediately reflected in the dashboards. They use Power BI, and it seems they've scheduled their refresh to be once a day, which is not that good for us."
"It crashes our client's computers. Sometimes they get blue screens. It would be useful if SCSM could check the upgrades or patches before we implemented them to see if they are going to crash a client's system. Or, if it does install, and the client's system crashes, it would be good if the solution could revert back somehow."
"It's not too hard to compile stuff but it is hard to manage the solution. Even the design itself makes it difficult for management."
"One of the disadvantages in this product is that the reporting module is not very easy. It requires SQL development skills, which not all customers or IT professionals have."
"Service Manager is not doing very well because, for example, there is no default web application and in order to use Service Manager we have to use the desktop console which is a disadvantage."
"Resources for understanding compliance and relative compliance need to be made available."
"We have had some issues with the SCSM on-premise deployment version in the imaging aspects."
"My company had planned a few months ago to apply SCSM over the cloud in order to provide updates, like regular updates, but it had to be put through a few tools from Microsoft on the cloud, which was not easy."
"The price of this solution is high and it needs to be cheaper."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's cheapest among the competition, although bargaining is a must."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"If I compare it with Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere is cheaper. Blue Prism is very costly. Automation Anywhere's pricing follows the market, not less and not more."
"I don't deal have cost specifics but I can say it is a tool that provides value for the money."
"The ROI is really good. We have saved time and money."
"Automation Anywhere University is pretty good. They make it available free for everyone."
"In terms of pricing, this is a good product."
"The Community Edition is a good offering from the company."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis. We currently work with a standard fee."
"It was very cost-effective as compared to the other ones we evaluated. We spent about $20,000 per annum for support and license together. There was also an implementation fee at the beginning. I would rate it a nine out of ten in terms of pricing."
"The platform is competitively priced."
"The license for SCSM is cheap."
"It is a lower price vs. other things on the market."
"It comes free with the enterprise agreement that we have, but the expense really is in having to buy another product to sit on top of it to make it work properly. You wind up having to buy additional support and additional product with their own support and maintenance costs on top of that."
"It is an expensive solution."
"The price should be lower."
"I would rate the pricing as two out of five."
"The pricing is reasonable."
