Zapier and Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Service compete in the automation and data integration category. Zapier might have the upper hand for its ease of use and vast integration options, but Oracle Data Integrator excels in robust and reliable data tasks within the Oracle ecosystem.
Features: Zapier provides numerous integrations, allowing users to automate processes seamlessly without needing to code. It supports webhooks and multi-step Zaps for enhanced business efficiency and connects with applications like Gmail, Salesforce, and MailChimp. Oracle Data Integrator caters to enterprises needing substantial data integration, offering easy connectivity within Oracle products and various databases without requiring extensive technical knowledge.
Room for Improvement: Zapier could improve Google Sheets functionality and expand integrations for less common apps. Enhancements in error reporting and workflow organization are needed, while pricing remains a concern for high-volume tasks. Oracle Data Integrator could enhance cloud connectors for non-Oracle products and simplify complexity requiring detailed expertise, with cost considerations relative to competitors.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Zapier is mostly deployed on public cloud platforms, providing flexibility for business needs with mixed tech support reviews for responsiveness but lacking live chat. Oracle Data Integrator uses predominantly public cloud with efficient support, particularly in setup challenges, though users seek straightforward help for complex issues.
Pricing and ROI: Zapier offers flexible pricing, including a free plan for smaller needs, with tiered pricing that becomes costly with higher usage. It provides good ROI through timesaving automation. Oracle Data Integrator is known for its higher costs, justified by its comprehensive feature set for extensive data tasks, offering potential ROI for large-scale operations. Both solutions save costs compared to in-house development for some users.
Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Service provides pushdown data processing; high performance ETL with less data movement which is best for the Cloud. Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Service executes data transformations where the data lies without having to copy data unnecessarily to remote locations.
Zapier is a tool for primarily non-technical users to connect together web apps.
An integration between two apps is called a Zap. A Zap is made up of a Trigger and one or more Actions or Searches.
Whenever the trigger happens in one app, Zapier will automatically perform the actions or searches in another app in order.
Zaps are very lightweight and easy to set up. Zaps do not import or export old data (they only operate on new items created after the Zap is enabled). Zaps are also not kept in sync ("two way syncing") after the Zap is triggered.
Zaps are deceivingly simple if you're used to dealing with complex and difficult integrations. Their simplicity is what enables anyone to create them.
