Effective lead management and useability with room for reporting improvements
Customer support could be more helpful. The reporting could be better, with more engaging reports and the ability to collaborate more objects, like opportunities. Incorporating AI features similar to tools like HubSpot and Salesforce account engagement would be beneficial. Additionally, Marketo should work on automating tools and updating the product since it looks similar to how it did five years ago.

Improves our marketing efficiency in a consolidated platform, with features such as behavior-based email triggers
Interface and design consistency are my two significant cons for this platform. Like most, once you know the platform and its interface, you can be very successful. There is no difference here except that the design process between creating emails, pages, and forms all have their unique process. I believe it would improve user efficiency if the page and email creator, for instance, had a standard procedure and the same layout of tools. The platform has a lot of features with more coming, so you have to know where all the pieces are between the settings, marketing, and sales menu layout.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Marketo gives me the toolset necessary to create automated drip email campaigns to my customers and prospects, delivering HUGE ROI with great customer service and a relatively nimble dev team always willing to help, even in special or one-off scenarios."
"One of the most important things about Marketo is its focus on GDPR compliance. It helps you follow GDPR and CAN-SPAM rules. For example, with Marketo, I won't accidentally target audiences without their consent. Firstly, the Marketo Insights system will highlight new customer segments that I should engage with."
"Marketo makes it easy to stay in contact with our base of customers, prospective customers, and partners."
"Considering the features it offers, it provides value for money."
"The most valuable features are the Marketo emails, both sending and tracking."
"With the scoring and how we deploy it, we have a greater integration between Marketo and Salesforce, which allows our sales team to focus on people we believe are ready for conversations, rather than everyone they had to talk to before."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is Smart Campaigns."
"One feature I like is the user interface. Compared to other tools I've used, it's much more friendly and easy to navigate. Additionally, it offers a wide range of features, which makes tasks like segmenting data much simpler."
"We can trigger emails and actions based on their behaviors, which is very beneficial."
"With this product, we are able to do so much more with our marketing."
"We got a 30% increase in email open rates due to relevant targeting, 30% increase in overall leads, 12-15 man-hours savings per week due to automation."

Cons

"Takes time to setup and manage."
"Wish it had a better user interface"
"Marketo's reporting and dashboarding features could be better. Compared to other tools, the visualization options with charts and graphs seem somewhat limited."
"Its APIs need to be more flexible because there are some things that are not available in the API."
"Customer support could be more helpful."
"Changing a campaign in progress (i.e. changing the wait period between emails) is unnecessarily complicated."
"Customer Service: This is where Marketo falls short. Their customer service is awful."
"There is a bit of room for improvement in the level-one support team. It relies too much on documentation."
"Interface and design consistency are my two significant cons for this platform."
"Customer service is good, but the Netcore Smartech team should strive for improving it further. EMM customer service was far better than Smartech customer service as Smartech needs better coordination between Netcore back end teams, which needs to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'm not sure about the cost because I don't get into this aspect. Clients normally take care of that. I only know that it is costly, and I don't think there are any additional costs to the licensing."
"The licensing cost usually depends on the users."
"The initial pricing was excellent, but the pricing for renewals is not as good."
"Marketo is used a lot because it's cheaper and preferred by many firms."
"The pricing is not cheap, but it's not that expensive either."
"Marketo's pricing depends on the number of contacts and the level of features you need. Compared to other platforms like Oracle Eloqua and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo is generally more affordable. Like other platforms, it offers different packages based on your needs."
"It is expensive. We have a yearly license."
"Marketo is too expensive for a small-sized company but more affordable for a larger-sized company."
"Based on the number of contacts we have, Smartech is more cost-effective than other solutions."
