Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Simplifies device management, making performing various administrative tasks easier
Sometimes, the server gets slow. The dashboard is only getting loaded. Jamf Pro offers many features, but some improvements could make it even more user-friendly. For example, streamlining authentication controls would enhance its security value. Too many complex settings on the dashboard make it hard for users to navigate. Simplifying the settings would make it easier to use. Adding a more interactive and cleaner UI design would also improve the user experience. Additionally, automatically categorizing policies and configurations by type would be helpful, making the dashboard more organized. Introducing auto-filtering based on categories would streamline configuration management. On the security side, enabling two-factor authentication for console login would provide better protection than single sign-on. Only authorized users can access sensitive data, like the asset inventory stored in the console. 2FA would help keep the system secure, preventing unauthorized access even if login credentials are compromised. Device management needs automation, and Jamf is likely to integrate Apple's Apple Intelligence into its framework once it's available. This integration is expected to be a significant enhancement for the Jamf console, potentially transforming the way device management is handled.

Comprehensive remote support simplifies customer integration
There is always room for improvement. Features like private DNS would be very useful if pushed through Knox Manage. We've raised this with Samsung, and it is on their roadmap. Also, there is an issue with the assignment of licenses where Knox Asset Intelligence and Knox Management sometimes deploy on different licenses. We've discussed this with Samsung for potential improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Intune is the ability to reset a lost device and remove all the data."
"Our main use is Intune's management of mobile devices, like Android or iPhone devices. The application performs quite well for both types. We successfully managed almost 3,000 endpoints."
"The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types, we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager(MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company detail on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
"The mobile application management, MAM, is the most useful aspect of the solution."
"The ability to deploy patches and automate software deployments to end-user devices is very useful."
"I can reach devices or computers over the internet. I don't need to worry about the network connectivity between the offices. I can manage any device. That is the most important part."
"One of the most valuable features of Microsoft Intune is the detection and remediation script capability."
"I appreciate Intune's autopilot feature, which allows us to enroll devices and install applications to meet corporate requirements seamlessly."
"There is also zero-day support to all new Apple OS."
"The design of the GUI, as compared to other solutions, really makes a difference."
"The self-service is invaluable to the user."
"Policies are a great feature that allows us to push certain restrictions to devices that require them, such as the younger generation of students we have."
"The time that we save in hours for new deployments, redeployments, application upgrades and OS upgrades more than makes up for the cost of the product."
"I can set policies to manage devices by many variables OR keep it simple by leveraging DEP to assign new devices the standard apps."
"It is a great tool. Its ease of use is fantastic. It is very simple, and you don't really have a high learning curve with this."
"The remote wipe and lock features are by far the best tools."
"The most valuable feature of Samsung Knox is the endpoint protection it offers. Users have the ability to perform a factory reset without the need for a hard reset, which is very beneficial."
"One portal for all the features and the remote support capability in Samsung Knox is highly valued. The enterprise editions and the free Knox Suite licenses for one year are also beneficial."
"Overall, I would rate the solution as a 10."

Cons

"Some enrollment features could be improved."
"The reports that are generated aren't so great. They don't give a lot of meaning so far, but that could be down to user knowledge than the actual reporting side of things. I'm not a big user of it, but I was a bigger user of MaaS360, and we used to be able to run weekly and monthly reports. In the case of any deviations. we'd get a warning immediately. That's not so easy to do or to get in place for Intune. This could be just a user issue, but when I compare both, that's the only thing that's lacking for me."
"At the moment, we need more flexibility. We have some offices migrating to Windows 11 remotely. Sometimes, it is difficult to manage image installation because we have to collect some information before starting image deployment. Currently, Intune cannot collect the information needed for deploying new images."
"There should be more focus on mobile device security and integration."
"One big problem with Microsoft is that they're changing the names of the products quite often, or they're quite consistently doing so. Intune is now Endpoint administration. Constantly switching the user interface or the administrative interface makes it quite hard to keep pace. If you are on a two-week holiday and you come back and look at the same screen you have looked at for the last couple of months, it looks different, which is annoying. Changing things around all the time doesn't make it easy."
"Intune is not the most user-friendly mobile device management platform available."
"Regarding mobile devices, Intune is good, but there are other services that I would say are ahead of Intune from an administration and reporting point of view."
"I expect Microsoft Intune to have more features in the cloud because there are two major functionalities that we need to be added. This is software metering and license management. These functionalities, for now, must be on-premise. For this purpose, we have set up a SQL Server and I hope that in near future this option will be in the cloud in Microsoft Intune."
"The reporting with PowerBI could be improved."
"An easier way to deploy Full OS upgrades would be a great start."
"I would like to see improved integration of some of the additional tools that users create within Jamf itself."
"The ability to ask a device to run a policy regularly would be a real advantage."
"An in-house chat room would be a great way to communicate with your team when you aren't physically present with them."
"Currently, you need to scroll through pages and pages of icons (we have many icons that have been uploaded), and it can be tedious."
"The solution needs cheaper training."
"I am always complaining about the reporting side of things. I love how reporting lets us create custom reports, however, I also feel like it could use some updating."
"Samsung Knox needs to expand customer features across all devices, not just Samsung devices."
"Features like private DNS would be very useful if pushed through Knox Manage."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Intune is available for individual purchase at a low per-device cost."
"We spend a lot of money on Intune licensing, and some of our users have to be double licensed just because of how our dev and corporate environments are segmented."
"We have the business premium licenses for the solution."
"The price is reasonable, but they should lower it a bit to make it more competitive. It's cheaper than AirWatch and other products, but I still feel like Microsoft can make a base version or with Exchange online or a la carte only Intune version which will be useful. A customer who doesn't want to go full-fledged E3 or E5 can take out or consume an Intune solution only for their purpose, and we want to target that customer."
"No one can compete with Microsoft when it comes to price, and the features it is offering."
"It is reasonable. When you have Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 license, it is already licensed in that license. So, you could say it is free."
"I am satisfied with the pricing."
"There is a license required to use the solution. If you're core users in Office 365, for example, you have Outlook email and E3 license, this is only email. You have to buy an EMS license to have Microsoft Intune. It is expensive."
"Setup and licensing prices are getting to be too high."
"Jamf is quite up there. It wasn't the cheapest solution, but it's reasonable. Apigee was cheaper than Jamf."
"Don’t go into a sales call without knowing all the details of your system because Jamf has a ton of tools outside of Jamf Pro to offer and knowing them ahead of time is a must."
"JumpStart looks a little bit pricey; however, it is worth every penny."
"The price of this solution is a bit high but it is worth the money for the features. There is an annual license for the use of this solution."
"It would be beneficial if it could be reduced slightly."
"This product is surely worth the cost of implementation."
"Jamf Pro is on the expensive side and could be slightly cheaper."
