Monitoring has become centralized and management now sees real‑time health of key network assets
The time investment required is significant, not because of difficulty but because of the need for free time to invest in it. We need to get the knowledge. We know there are many options, but we took an external vendor to install and make the customization. If we want to make others changes without paying for customization, we need to learn it deeply by ourselves. The tutorials are very complicated. They could work on that area. The tutorial part could be more simplified. I know there are many explanations, and you can get help or documents in one click on the current page in the product, but it is not very clear. If you want to do something new that you did not see from the vendor in the installation, it is not very simple. The documents are good for people that know how to operate the product well, but for new users, it is not simple.

Automation increases efficiency, but pricing needs to be more competitive
Improvement is needed in making it cheaper, of course. I am not emphasizing making it cheaper, however, it should be more competitive with other products. The product itself is very good and helpful for me as a customer. The issue always is the price, as we cannot beat most of our competitors on pricing alone. If a product is just nice to have, not essential like an antivirus, if it's not really competitive with pricing, we cannot sell it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Spectrum does such a great job of discovering our network that we have a high confidence in what our inventory is and because of that we're confident in the reporting we get."
"The most valuable features have been the interface and the ability to do equipment management."
"It allows us to manage alerts, schedule downtime and maintenance, as well as triage documentation for our support teams."
"The stability of the product is key. It never breaks, really. The stability and reliability of the Spectrum product have been top-notch."
"All networks (or network equipment) are monitored through CA Spectrum."
"Without a doubt the most valuable feature of this solution is its scalability."
"The fact that I don't have to sit and watch things; they get monitored, and then I hear about them and take care of them as needed."
"Scalability is a highly rated feature of this solution. It is better than some of the other tools that I've used in terms of scalability. We scaled it to tens of thousands of devices."
"It's a simple and humble tool."
"Kaseya Traverse is a very stable solution and very sustainable in terms of what the market wants, what is out there, price-wise and functionality features. They're quite competitive and they are always innovating."
"Most of the features are pretty good and the solution is user friendly."
"The remote support and data collection features are great."
"We have found the solution to be very flexible to our requirements. We have been able to configure it on-premise effectively when we were using less of the cloud."
"It is a pretty stable solution...It is a pretty stable solution."
"In terms of most valuable features, we are happy with everything so far, and maybe in a year's time I'll have a different opinion on what can change, what can be better, but for now it's the perfect solution."
"Everything is running seamlessly on the solution, to the point where you don't see any gap."

Cons

"Event correlation only works on one server, rather than on all of the servers in the same cluster environment."
"It took a while to understand the product, but once we went hands on, it's great to work with."
"The report area is very poor and we cannot work properly with additional information and the custom reports."
"In my opinion, it's the documentation that I find is not up to the mark."
"I would like to see better scalability, and maybe, a more intuitive user interface. "
"The product should provide performance management features."
"The only area which I found that can be improved is that sometimes issues come up with alert clearing i.e. alerts don't clear when triggered and clear events occur too fast."
"Since the acquisition by Broadcom, we have not had such a good experience with licensing and pricing. Since they were bought by Broadcom, every sales contract is getting complicated."
"Reporting is a bit difficult."
"Improvement is needed in making it cheaper."
"Kaseya Traverse can improve by adding a Service Map to help us create a configuration management database (CMDB), this would be helpful for us."
"With my most recent experiences on the solution, I can say that it isn't currently stable; there are a lot of glitches and bugs and the reliability just isn't there right now."
"Dashboards and Central Protection were an issue. Also, database monitoring was not there. Even though they said that it was there at an additional cost, that tool was very basic. We couldn't have device configuration backup also."
"I think the software is still a little bit too new to actually fully assess what it has."
"We've noticed a few bugs as of late. However, this seems to only be in the reporting part of the product."
"Reporting is tedious and not organized in the way customers expect."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing could be better."
"It is very pricey. With the current trend of enterprises moving towards cheaper and more modern looking solutions like ManageEngine, SevOne, ServicePilot, and Paesller."
"The price is very high."
"Currently, a perpetual license but some services are moving to a subscription"
"The price is good enough to expect an ideal solution. It's expensive."
"In general, the license cost will be about 30% of the total TCO for this tool (hardware/support team, OS costs, and OS management)."
"Since the acquisition by Broadcom, we have not had such a good experience with licensing and pricing. Since they were bought by Broadcom, every sales contract is getting complicated. It's very complicated, and it's much more expensive than before. It's not a good pricing strategy from Broadcom."
"DX Spectrum's pricing is neither expensive nor cheap."
"The price depends on whether you are monitoring different applications, especially in bulk, and depends on what you're doing. If you're monitoring one endpoint, it will cost you 150 ZAR."
"The solution is not cheap, but it is not too expensive."
