Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is used for governance and checking to ensure that what is being put out there is correct and is not violating any corporate policies. We use it for data classification, being able to identify which files are sitting in different areas. This allows us to figure out where our compliance levels are for CIS or NIST standards.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is integrated into Azure, which aligns with our goal of doing everything Microsoft-based. We currently use the prebuilt assessments feature with the default built-in settings for classification of files. It helps save time because we do not have to go around asking what each item is for. The accuracy from users is approximately 75% correct on average. The reporting capabilities of Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager have provided valuable insights for us. The data classification reporting is helping us figure out what and where our people are storing files and why.

I cannot think of specific areas that could be improved with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager right now. There are always features that could potentially be better, but nothing comes to mind immediately.

I have dealt with IronScales for approximately three and a half years in total.

I would rate Microsoft Support a six or seven on a scale of one to ten, depending on who you get. Microsoft could potentially improve by being able to reach the right people immediately instead of having to deal with lower-level support staff. As an enterprise customer, having that enterprise liaison is beneficial. I have a single point of contact for issues. Previously, when this was first set up without that liaison, calling support meant getting level one support who could not help, then level two support who also could not help, and finally reaching someone who could actually assist. Having a designated Microsoft representative or support person is definitely key.

The initial setup was straightforward.

The pricing and setup cost is comparable to everything else that would be available regarding licensing. It was not excessively expensive. It is another expense to manage, but paying for the solution versus paying a fine is usually better.

We did not really evaluate other options before choosing Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for compliance.

I have experience with IronScales by chance or other similar products. It was not purchased through AWS Marketplace but was purchased through a vendor. We do deal with Intune with Microsoft. I have not had to do anything with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager in approximately one month. We are in the manufacturing industry. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten overall.

I use Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for various tasks such as automatically classifying all documents within the network, monitoring documents leaving and entering the network, data protection, and handling subject access requests. It primarily assists with data protection for GDPR requirements.

The most valuable feature is data classification retention since I deal with terabytes of data, and managing and monitoring it simplifies the process. Additionally, the system provides a dashboard showing our compliance status, which aids in managing compliance tasks. 

The compliance score feature allows me to assess and compare our compliance across organizations. I've also noticed efficiency gains, especially in handling subject access requests. Previously, these tasks were manual and time-consuming, but now they are streamlined, reducing the process from weeks to just a day.

Integrating add-on licenses, which currently offer additional features at a cost, into the base product would be beneficial, especially for a charity organization to avoid incurring extra costs.

I have been working with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for about five years now.

The stability is a ten out of ten. I have never known it to go down, meaning it is reliable and I can depend on it.

I would rate the scalability as an eight out of ten. It is straightforward since it scans everything, covering all aspects needed in our operations.

I would rate the technical support around a seven. I have never needed to contact them directly as I have contacts within Microsoft, and the online documentation provided is comprehensive and detailed.

I never used any solution before Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager. It was included in the Office application, so I adopted it sinc I was already paying for it.

The initial setup was about a six out of ten in difficulty due to its size and the various configurations needed. The challenge was determining what to do first. Once I got into it, the process became quite straightforward, although it is timely.

I deployed the solution with internal resources, requiring only two people for the initial setup, and now only one person is needed for ongoing maintenance.

In terms of ROI, I have observed significant efficiency gains, particularly in handling subject access requests. The process is reduced from weeks to a day, showcasing a solid nine for return on investment.

I rate the pricing as a one since it is included in what I am already paying for, as part of the Microsoft 365 E5 licensing.

I did not evaluate other solutions. Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager was already included in my Office applications, so I opted to use it.

My advice to new users is to take things slowly and ensure you follow your own policies and procedures to extract the right information from the system. Mistakes can complicate processes, so it's vital to take your time.

I am familiar with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager.

I have known Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for 3 to 4 years, but in my current role, I have used it deeply for a year plus now. It is not a place I go to on a daily basis except when I want to do audits, check the Data Loss Prevention policies, or perform content search. These are the features I use it for - audits, Data Loss Prevention, and content search.

I am familiar with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager. I have worked with it for 3 to 4 years, though I have been using it more extensively in my current role for over a year. It is not accessed daily, but rather when specific tasks are needed such as conducting audits, checking Data Loss Prevention policies, or performing content searches. These are the primary features I utilize in the solution.

If we could have pop-up information similar to what exists in the Microsoft 365 admin center when creating a new tenant, it would help system administrators use it more effectively without having to read extensive documentation.

Microsoft support is great overall. However, their business model of outsourcing to third-party partners, especially in Nigeria with tech experts and other partners, needs improvement. I have raised tickets and worked with these support teams. Microsoft needs to address how partners treat their technical support staff.

The quality of support is affected because most support staff seem focused on obtaining five-star ratings rather than resolving problems thoroughly. This appears to be due to the pressure from partners and Microsoft's feedback metrics system. They often rush to close tickets without deeply investigating complaints.

From the level of support received, I usually try to resolve issues independently. I rate the engineers favorably understanding their pressures, even when issues remain unresolved. Overall, I would rate Microsoft Support five out of 10.

The setup complexity depends on what features you want to implement in Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager. It typically takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

I have limited experience with the templates in Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager. Our organization hasn't fully utilized the solution beyond checking compliance scores and adjusting basic settings. The first attempt to use a default template caused disruptions, leading to policy deactivation.

Currently, our compliance score sits at 68%. The compliance score breakdown shows 0% for Governance information and Control assets, indicating minimal policy implementation.

We are simply a customer - a law firm subscribed to Microsoft 365 products. I plan to read more about the compliance manager and its potential benefits for our organization.

I use Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager, specifically the eDiscovery tool, for searching content, particularly emails, in a legal setting. We receive various forensic requests for searching the content, and I use Microsoft Purview eDiscovery to search emails regarding the requests received from members of my organization.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager's eDiscovery is essential for organizations using Outlook as their email service. It's used to discover electronically stored information on servers. I find that other eDiscovery tools offer more functionality. Still, Microsoft Purview eDiscovery is necessary when using Outlook. It limits capabilities, however, with connectors, functionality improves, providing the best results possible.

Microsoft Purview has moved its portal from classic to premium with some display improvements, yet not much in options and functionalities. Microsoft Copilot Security is a potential feature to aid in search query formulation, converting human language to search queries using its AdLM language model.

I've been using Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for almost six months.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is a stable product used by organizations utilizing Outlook as their email client. Despite stability, it needs to be more user-friendly and competitive compared to other eDiscovery tools. Microsoft is not a dedicated eDiscovery vendor, affecting their priority in enhancing this tool.

Scalability is built-in with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager. It scales with the services you use from Microsoft. As services increase, eDiscovery capabilities also increase, allowing easy deployment.

There is a lot of information available on Microsoft's website regarding usage, however, no direct training from Microsoft. A third vendor offers a limited three-hour training. Users have no specific forum for addressing queries, which impacts the overall support experience.

This is my first time using any eDiscovery tool.

Initial deployment is straightforward. It is automatic for organizations using Microsoft Outlook as their email client. The key step is identifying eDiscovery users and ensuring they have the appropriate privileges to use the service.

We haven't started yet, however, we will be using some other eDiscovery tool in the future. Once we have it, I can share my insights.

On a scale from one to ten, I would rate Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager six. 

It is easy to start using yet it is not very intuitive. The lack of direct training and user forums for specific queries is a concern. Despite mandatory use in some scenarios, it is not user-friendly compared to other tools.

I am primarily using Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for data leakage prevention, blocking USBs, and monitoring data sharing through OneDrive and web-based interfaces.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is tightly integrated with email solutions like Office 365. It covers data leakage prevention by monitoring interfaces such as email and web-based platforms. 

However, its strength lies more in the email integration, whereas web-based platforms still require enhancement.

There are several areas for improvement. Policy configuration, particularly for web interfaces and OCR scanning, presents challenges. 

Additionally, the Purview Compliance Portal's log management could be more user-friendly, making data retrieval, like email logs, challenging. Support for granular-level policies is also limited.

I have been using Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager for about five months.

In terms of latency, stability is not an issue, however, the user-friendliness needs improvement. For example, searching logs for activities, such as critical data being sent outside, can be tricky.

While the solution is scalable in terms of user numbers, there are limitations when creating more granular level policies.

The customer service experience is not satisfactory. The support staff, who are often outsourced, seem not adequately equipped to handle issues quickly and efficiently.

The installation process of Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is straightforward as it is an optional product that requires activation rather than installation.

I worked with a partner from Dubai for the implementation.

The solution is part of the Office 365 E5 license, eliminating the need for additional fees.

While not cheap, Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is priced at 60% to 70% compared to some competitors. Additional costs may involve OCR page scanning.

I evaluated solutions like Forcepoint, Mirantis, and Qualys before selecting Microsoft.

The solution receives a rating of six out of ten. 

It is suitable for companies using many Microsoft products due to ease of integration, although usability and functionality of some features need improvement.

I use this solution for data loss prevention and general data management. I find that the solution is subjective regarding compliance.

One of the valuable features of the tool is that it works effectively. The best aspect is that it requires little to no time for implementation if I am using all of Microsoft's tools. If I have all of them in place, I can access it immediately.

The speed and accessibility, particularly in the user interface, require significant work. These two aspects are the most crucial areas for improvement.

I have used the solution for less than a year.

Considering all the recent changes, I would rate its stability as an eight out of ten.

The customer service resolves issues, but it takes a considerable amount of time and involves a lot of back-and-forth communication to get through all the support tiers. Since I approach them with more complicated issues, it takes quite a bit of time to get through those two support tiers.

I would say the initial setup rating is maybe seven or eight. It does not require a lot of setup on the endpoints and all other devices.

There is an increase in security. It's not direct ROI. It's indirect ROI.

Since it's lacking some features, at least from what I've observed, and licensing is pretty atrocious, I would rate it a seven out of ten. 

We use the product for data loss prevention. 

We like how it's improved the organization in terms of how we handle our security data. The awareness of policies and how to properly label documents has been useful. 

It's helped us reduce the number of solutions we need. The majority of our work, especially in our infrastructure, is simplified. 

Their data classification and data labeling are good. The insider threat features are useful. We were looking for those options in other vendors, and once we used Purview, we really liked it. The user experience is quite phenomenal, especially after implementing DLP. 

It provides data protection across multi-cloud environments. We're a financial company. We keep our data in a secure manner, and processing data is essential.

In phases two and three, we're hoping to use it in more broader applications. In phase one, we are focused on Microsoft 365 and InTune.

Purview's natively integrated compliance across Azure Dynamics and Office 365 is great. We need the active integration of Microsoft. 

It takes into account critical regulations from around the world. As a finance company, we need to follow international and local regulations as part of our compliance. 

It's great for data loss protection for remediating policy violations. We can set how people block or if there is an alert or policy violation, and it's all handled under automation. 

We have a monthly one-hour webinar that explains DLP, how to use labeling, et cetera.

It took us about a year to realize time to value. We've done some reporting on how we've improved the processes in terms of data. 

Purview helped to reduce the number of solutions that need to interact with each other. We don't need to have a lot of solutions anymore. 

It's helped us create visibility into our estate. We have more visibility of data and how it is being shared. 

We use the solution's AI and automation. We use CoPilot. It helps with speed and accuracy; however, I cannot say just yet by how much. CoPilot recently has been enabled. We'll need a couple of months to realize the impacts.

We can show our compliance in real-time. It gives us up-to-the-minute visibility on how data is being used and processed.

We can act on insider threats thanks to the alerts and visibility. We're hoping we'll be able to reduce any insider threats. We've reduced it so far by 50%.

The solution has helped us save time and money. We have an enterprise agreement that offers good pricing. 

We've been able to effectively stay on top of compliance using the best solutions, including this product. 

We'd like to see the solution expanded to include firewalls and endpoints. 

What we need has basically already been provided by the solution. 

I've used the solution for a couple of years. I just started using it. 

So far, the solution is very stable. We haven't had any issues. 

The solution is deployed across multiple departments and 10,000 endpoints. 

It's a very scalable product. We do have plans to increase usage in the near future. 

We did use a different vendor for DLP. There were some limitations and integration issues that we don't face with Purview. Purview offers very easy management. It's straightforward. You don't need to worry about the infrastructure behind it. The user experience is also straightforward compared to the other DLP solutions we've used. 

I was involved in the initial planning and implementation. However, I wasn't involved with integrations. 

The initial deployment was straightforward. We put it in a test environment first. After three months, another department was added. We had it for a year before we did a company-wide implementation. 

We had five to six people involved in the deployment, including administrators and engineers. 

There is no maintenance required. Microsoft manages the solution. 

We deployed the solution with the help of Microsoft. 

I'm not sure of the exact pricing of the solution. It's cheaper than our previous option. The cost is not much of an issue at the moment. 

We did not evaluate other options. 

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. 

If potential users don't think about the price and consider their environment, especially if they have a Mircosoft environment, it's the best solution in terms of DLP. 

Purview Compliance Manager allows us to access our M365 setup and see how compliant and safe our data is. As it is a cloud environment, we don't have the control over the data or privileges like we would in the on-premises sector. We have to completely depend on the solution to secure this cloud and handle compliance actively. We also use the hints it gives us to resolve some issues.

Data loss protection is one of our most important priorities because, as a university, we have researchers and doctorate holders using the most complicated and confidential data. Purview Compliance Manager has a really good mechanism to prevent data loss. To date, we haven't found any incidents of loss. We move many gigabytes of data from on-premises to the cloud each day. Microsoft has a really good encryption mechanism to prevent any man-in-the-middle or other types of attacks. They would seem to be impossible because the solution definitely shows us if anything is happening or encryption mechanisms are missing from our side. It will correctly alert us and let us know what preventative measures to take.

We have bundled Microsoft products like Teams and OneDrive that store multiple types of data and different data formats. Every type of data is stored and any part of it can have malicious content. Our users will share OneDrive data with other Microsoft products. To verify whether things are properly aligned in our environment, we need a setup like Purview.

It also helps us to restrict access to China. Not everything can go to Chinese servers. With Purview, we can guarantee that it is not going to any malicious sites. It is well up to industry standards.

Also, Purview Compliance Manager decreases the number of solutions we need. It has access to all the solutions from Microsoft, so if you have a bundled solution, it can even control Outlook email and Azure—everything really. Data can be easily monitored with its dashboard, which is very helpful. It has reduced the complexity of data governance because we would require many other costly software solutions or special deployments in the cloud to visualize and govern all this data. With Microsoft Purview, we don't need to think of anything else because the system can easily view all the data. Even if the data is migrating, it is guarded by the guidelines. It provides multi-system administration.

Before Purview, we didn't know what our data was like in the cloud: how it was stored or how it was maintained. With this solution's large set of options, there is a data retention mechanism and a data auditing mechanism. It will audit data periodically and tell us if there are errors in the data or storage or encryption mechanisms. If the encryption is wrong or any hacking is tried, it will show the vulnerabilities.

It also enables us to show compliance in real time at any point in time and that is one of the highlights. It gives you clear visibility into your data. That is an important advantage of having Purview Compliance Manager in our environment. The solution keeps on updating as the standards update. For example, last year we didn't have encryption patterns that are as advanced as we have this year. So we don't need to think about these things. Microsoft will ensure that it meets industry standards.

With on-premises solutions, if we have any data loss issues we require multiple devices to detect them and the solution has to be done by another device. We need multiple devices, a large set of hardware, to handle all of this data and ensure data loss protection. But once data is in the cloud and our security services are also in the cloud, we are able to organize all this data and even accept transfers from less secure environments. That's because Purview Compliance Manager gives us correct and accurate solutions to issues, and it will also give us a fix. If we have an on-premises issue, it could take us one day to deal with it. With Purview, we can find the issue and a solution within one hour.

Another benefit is that with an on-premises solution we depend on a complete set of hardware to ensure data loss protection, but with data and this solution in the cloud, we just need one subscription, and it is a bundled subscription. Budget-wise, it is considerably less; less than half the cost.

It helps you configure the system and even offers ideas on how to resolve important security concerns in an organization. It lists out all the issues that happen when we move data from the cloud to on-premises. It gives you a detailed view of the known issues and helps with industry standards so that the cloud features completely align with on-premises. We can see whether our data security is matching the industry standards. 

It even offers prompts and ideas on items that you may not even have been aware of. It provides us with ideas on how to improve our proficiency in handling data in the cloud. And you can add notes for others in the reporting feature, so if there are any issues, others can refer to them.

The fact that Purview delivers data protection across multi-cloud and multi-platform environments is also important to us. We have most of our data on Microsoft but part of our data, our university websites, for example, is on Amazon AWS. We move data between clouds and also from on-premises to the cloud. There is no other mechanism to check if this data is moving according to industry standards for such things as

• security 
• bandwidth
• SSL encryption mechanism.

We would not be able to see these metrics without Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager. It gives you a dashboard on how to improve your setup on the Microsoft cloud or even AWS. And it gives us the same information if we push data from on-premises to cloud.

Also, our users have a mix of operating systems. Most use Windows but there are also people who use macOS and Linux. With Purview, we can easily find the issues in Linux or more complex operating systems like macOS. We are notified of all issues with the help of Purview Compliance Manager.

I have been using Microsoft Services for about five years and most of these services are bundled.

It is a completely stable product.

It is also completely scalable. It is absolutely useful for smaller and bigger environments.

We are using the solution university-wide, including our branch offices. We don't have plans to increase our usage of it at the moment. Once we deploy more VMs or more Microsoft services, we will.

One area for improvement is the technical support for Purview. With all the other solutions from Microsoft we get really good technical support, but with Purview we had a compliance error and we couldn't find the solution. Purview would not point us to the correct solution, it just indicated the error. We had to troubleshoot it and find out what led to this error. 

We contacted technical support but it took them one week to identify the root cause of the error.

The deployment is straightforward. We didn't need to do anything. It is an automatic solution because we had other solutions from Microsoft. It took us about one day to deploy, and we needed just one person involved. 

If you are moving from another compliance manager to Purview, you will find it really easy. But if Purview is your first compliance manager, you will require some help from their support team to implement it.

Now that it is installed, it is being managed and used by five system administrators. They constantly monitor Compliance Manager and, when any issue comes up, they carry out whatever actions are necessary. They have to find out the root cause of this issue and act accordingly. That is their role.

We have definitely seen return on investment. The solution is budget-friendly. By going with Purview Compliance Manager, we don't need to go with specialized, online solutions. It saves us about 50 percent of our costs.

We also don't require specialized engineers or administrators, or other real-time monitoring solutions, to detect errors. That saves us time and money. These are the ways we get a return on our investment.

The pricing and licensing are moderate because we have other licenses for Microsoft services. The pricing is in line with that.

If you are moving from another compliance manager, then Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is the perfect solution because you will have previous knowledge of compliance managers and be able to easily configure and use it. If it is a completely new installation and you haven't used a compliance manager before, I would suggest learning about this solution first to see if it will suit your environment. If you are new to Office 365 or the Microsoft environment, you will require some help. It will take more time.

We primarily use the solution for compliance. 

The solution helps centralize data governance. Its centralized platform is very convenient. It also allows for confidential data discovery. We can uncover what data is present on-premises, on the cloud, or in SaaS environments. 

The solution helps us with automating data classification. We can classify everything, including metadata. It makes it very easy to organize and categorize our data.

Since it integrates well with Microsoft, we can easily integrate everything together.

The product is very integrated with AI and can give us suggestions based on AI. It can help us better manage compliance.

The data classification, sensitivity labeling, and regulatory compliance capabilities are all very useful. They provide compliance with industry-specific regulations such as HIPPA, CCPA, and GDPR and can help us with future policy enforcement. We can enforce various policies, including data governance policies. Also, we can establish custom policies.

We have direct access control. We can control our data in terms of sensitivity labels. If it is a high sensitivity, we can label it so. We can also manage data retention and deletion. 

Purview delivers data protection across multi-cloud and multi-platform environments. It has good integration with third parties, including GCP. It also integrates very easily with Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft solutions. 

Purview can connect with iOS, Mac, Android devices, et cetera. This is important for us as we have different types of employees. Some are using Windows only. Others are on Mac. We can have a unified enforcement policy no matter the platform they use. 

We have different types of data connectors present. We can use GCP or AWS, and they would be supported. It provides cover for a wide range of sources, including those on the cloud and on-premises. 

It provides classification, cataloging, and data mapping. We can integrate all of our tools together. Since we can bring all sources together, we can more easily manage everything.

It helps with our ISO and other types of compliance. We can follow worldwide or US standards. We can also integrate with reporting tools like Power BI and can enable organizations to leverage business intelligence. 

AI does provide us with some useful suggestions for what compliance to follow. It can advise on what policies to implement and follow, and we can look at the information right on the dashboards. 

It saves time in terms of compliance. If you had to do everything manually, it would take a lot of time. However, this helps with automation. We might have saved 20% to 30% of our time overall since it's helped reduce manual work. A lot of the compliance is automatically set up by Purview if we configure it that way. It really does have the potential to help us stay on top of compliance. 

We've had issues with data connectors for Teams. I found that sometimes they lack features, and Purview does not easily integrate with Teams. It needs to improve behavior compliance. 

I've used the solution for a year and a half.

The solution is mostly stable. Microsoft does fix issues and provides updates regularly.

I'd rate stability eight out of ten. 

We don't have Purview in multiple offices. We have it at the head office. We have a specific team that works with Purview. It's mostly maintained by the security team, which is three to five people. 

I'd rate the scalability nine out of ten.

We rarely need to reach out to technical support unless there is a very big issue.

I previously used a different solution. However, Microsoft is more widely used. It is also loaded with features that many third-party vendors do not offer, and it's better for integration with different platforms like GCP and AWS.

The initial deployment is straightforward. We're provided with a lot of information and guidance. There's lots of information about configuring the product as well. 

It did take me a few hours to understand the product, the UI, and all the features. However, if someone is familiar with Microsoft, it's a pretty normal amount of complexity.

Purview does not require any maintenance.

The product is cost-efficient as we already use many Microsoft products and have Microsoft licenses. 

We're a Microsoft customer. 

We do not specifically use Purview for DLP, although it is possible to do so. Right now, we use Defender for 365.

Since we use a lot of Microsoft products, it's very useful. 

I'd recommend the solution, especially if a company uses a lot of Microsoft.

I would rate Purview nine out of ten.

I am using the Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager primarily for applying regulations and ensuring compliance with internal regulations like communication policies and PLB policies. It helps in discovering security gaps and deciding how to move forward with improvements.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager allows us to apply various regulations, such as communication policies and PLB policies and verifies if we adhere to those policies. It discovers security gaps, enabling us to address them, automate tasks, and strengthens overall security.

The most valuable feature is its ability to apply regulations and ensure compliance with various policies. It also provides tools for investigation, risk assessment, and security score evaluations.

There could be improved automation for handling tasks in bulk or in an automated way. Additional initial monitoring would help ensure that expectations are met. Continued monitoring and policy adjustments after deployment are recommended.

The workload related to compliance has been added to my responsibilities for around one year.
