Easy matching and reconciliation of data
The initial setup was easy for the data warehousing concept. But for a person who is new to ETL and warehousing concepts, it may take some time. If someone is familiar with these concepts, they could understand and learn the tool quickly. However, compared to other tools, the UI is complex. It would be helpful to have a better UI and documentation for new users. As of now, there is a challenge in learning the Compose tool for new users altogether. Qlik Compose was deployed on-premises. But the servers, like the SQL servers were maintained on the cloud—the managed instances.

Simplified integrations bring flexibility and efficiency to diverse industries through comprehensive features and robust support
SAP is already trying to make improvements for SAP Process Orchestration by releasing updates every quarter, including patches and modules, and from a security standpoint, while it's a tightly coupled tool, they are introducing a lot of enhancements aligned with current market trends. There are standard contents readily available for starting integrations, which suit around 90% of every industry across verticals including pharma, manufacturing, and employee data central with SuccessFactors integration. Regarding functionality-wise improvements in SAP Process Orchestration, they are now incorporating the Salesforce system. Previously, we needed to rely on a third-party adapter for integration within SAP, but now they are building their own adapters to connect with Salesforce. Additionally, there are options like data connectors using Ariba coming up with SAP Process Orchestration. There's much more to explore, especially as they release new patches, enhancements, and adapters each quarter.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a scalable solution."
"There were many valuable features, such as extracting any data to put in the cloud. For example, Qlik was able to gather data from SAP and extract SAP data from the platforms."
"One of the most valuable features of this tool is its automation capabilities, allowing us to design the warehouse in an automated manner. Additionally, we can generate Data Lifecycle Policies (DLP) reports and efficiently implement updates and best practices based on proven design patterns."
"The technical support is very good. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"As long as you pick the solution that best fits with your requirements, you won't find that performance is a problem. It's good."
"I like modeling and code generation. It has become a pretty handy tool because of its short ideation to delivery time. From the time you decide you are modeling a data warehouse, and once you finish the modeling, it generates all the code, generates all the tables. All you have to do is tick a few things, and you can produce a fully functional warehouse. I also like that they have added all the features I have asked for over four years."
"One of the most valuable features was the ability to integrate multiple source systems that mainly used structured IDBMS versions."
"The most valuable is its excellence as a graphical data representation tool and the versatility it offers, especially with drill-down capabilities."
"The most valuable feature is the seamless integration with backend systems."
"The product has good technical support but you usually will not need it because it is quite stable."
"The solution's technical support is good."
"The main benefit is that the solution is low maintenance. Moreover, it's the license cost is very low because it's part of the package. The maintenance is standard maintenance. And the updates are regular. So there's a regular update and you can choose whether you want to do those updates or not."
"Great monitoring tools and has its own alert framework."
"t is a pretty stable solution. I have not seen any outages in the solution."
"SAP Process Orchestration offers easy maintainability and is a very flexible tool that easily adapts to any integration standards and artifacts that are readily available."
"The solution is easy to use."

Cons

"It would be better if the first level of technical support were a bit more technically knowledgeable to solve the problem. I think they could also improve the injection of custom scripts. It is pretty difficult to add additional scripts. If the modeling doesn't give you what you want, and you want to change the script generated by the modeling, it is a bit more challenging than in most other products. It is very good with standard form type systems, but if you get a more complicated data paradigm, it tends to struggle with transforming that into a model."
"My issues with the solution's stability are owing to the fact that it has certain bugs causing issues in some functionalities that should be working."
"Qlik's ETL and data transformation could be better."
"There is some scope for improvement around the documentation, and a better UI would definitely help."
"There should be proper documentation available for the implementation process."
"I believe that visual data flow management and the transformation function should be improved."
"The solution has room for improvement in the ETL. They have an ETL, but when it comes to the monitoring portion, Qlik Compose doesn't provide a feature for monitoring."
"It could enhance its capabilities in the realm of self-service options as currently, it is more suited for individuals with technical proficiency who can create pages using it."
"SAP Process Orchestration could improve from an API standpoint. This is not an API management tool, which is one of its drawbacks. However, SAP has released an SAP Cloud Platform Integration which has all of the features, such as API management along with process integration to replace what they had previously."
"It would be beneficial to enhance the ease of implementing new projects and improve overall stability in our implementations."
"SAP Process Orchestration breaks down sometimes."
"Data modeling is an area of concern in the product where improvements are required."
"It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development."
"The cloud capability features need improvement."
"The solution could be more scalable."
"The monitoring governance offered by SAP is too technical and needs to be geared more toward business users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"While they outperform Tableau, there's room for improvement in Qlik's pricing structures, especially for corporate clients like us."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is very expensive, I rate the solution a six."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"The license is a one-time payment, and additional costs are only incurred on the infrastructure side since it's an on-premise solution."
"Normally, you will have to choose CPU-based licensing...I rate the tool price a five out of ten."
"We subscribe to annual licenses, and the competitive license cost is reasonable."
"It is a very expensive solution. We only pay for the license."
"The cost of SAP products is quite high but the quality is really good."
"Looking at market conditions, vendors nowadays are giving products at very low price levels. However, SAP Process Orchestration have not yet reduced their prices. The prices could be reduced a lot to stay competitive."
"It's not an expensive solution."
"The pricing depends on what type of client you are with SAP and the contract you have. There is a licensing cost that needs to be paid."
