A flexible solution with superb automation capabilities
The technical support is high-end. They're knowledgeable people, both in the US and in the Philippines. One point of improvement — they should talk more to each other. They're quite responsive, but it depends on the scope of the ticket. If it's just solving an issue from one product, you can have either a consultant from the US or from the Philippines. It gets difficult when a solution is about integration. For instance, authentication mechanisms. Authentication mechanisms come from the US and they have to be incorporated in the Asia version. Then it's difficult because support has to talk to each other.

We don't currently need third-party solutions because Red Hat provides security through RH-ACM. This Red Hat product helps us identify vulnerabilities in Pods, YAML files, and other components. When we encounter vulnerability issues, we raise tickets, implement Red Hat's solutions, and close the tickets. OpenShift is predominantly implemented in banking sectors. Banking sectors require Enterprise edition platforms due to RBI guidelines. While small-scale industries might use Kubernetes on AWS platform, major banks such as SBI and Central Bank of India prefer OpenShift for its Enterprise edition status and comprehensive support from Red Hat. IPI setup is straightforward, but air gap environment setup is more challenging as it requires configuring HAProxy, DNS, manual DNS server, creating ignition files, downloading images, and creating separate repositories. Regarding competition, based on my knowledge, OpenShift has limited competitors apart from Red Hat. IBM has acquired Red Hat for OpenShift, and they run OpenShift on their Linux platform, making IBM the primary competitor. This product deserves a rating of 10 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is extremely flexible and the automation capabilities are great."
"Overall, it’s easy to learn and use."
"I find the PeopleFluent implementation support to be extremely flexible and generous towards their customers."
"Customers can create custom infotypes to store any custom data points."
"They have some interesting features in the learning space."
"The technical support is quite good."
"Ensures a single source of data for downstream systems use."
"Sometimes, employees may have pending requests that need approval, so you should check those and clear any errors to ensure smooth processing."
"Payroll is always the central area the tool focuses on. It needs to ensure things are flowing, employees are paid on time, and there are no issues related to location, pay, or hiring. SAP HCM helps observe all the work, from hiring to paying paychecks every month. It's a system that depends on the data you input. You don't want to work with bad data and expect miracles. If the data isn't clean, it's more work."
"It has the best data management features."
"The valuable features of SAP HCM include managing employee data from hiring to retirement."

Cons

"The integration capabilities could be improved."
"The integration capabilities could be improved. Integration of the recently acquired Learning Management System into the PeopleFluent suite, since it's clear that it's just recently acquired and it's not fully integrated."
"Give us the ability to source within the tool. It may just be how it’s configured for our organization, but we do not have the ability to source resumes in PeopleFluent."
"SAP is not ready to sell the license on time and delays the progress of projects."
"System usability is a challenge. It needs a lot of end user training as it is not intuitive at all."
"The solution is rather expensive."
"We are able to optimize a lot of processes but there is always room for improvement."
"I would say the speed of SAP HCM tool might need some optimization."
"SAP HCM needs to improve its UI."
"This solution needs to be more configurable and user-friendly."
"The support wasn't that good."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's not too expensive, but not too cheap either."
"SAP is expensive, but if you're using the product, then the expensive product becomes inexpensive. Considering its performance and features, I find it quite reasonable."
"The pricing is not reasonable at all."
"In my view, this product is a waste of money for SMB because there are much better products available and licensing is an issue."
"You pay per license. There not any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"The solution is cheap."
"The cost of SAP HCM is high, the license should be reduced. SAP HCM has a lot of hidden costs."
"Be careful and guard against future changes in licensing."
"The product is expensive."
