We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"K2 is reasonably priced.""NWC forms could be better. Also, the ability to build workflows that are not dependent on SharePoint is very desirable. The forms feature just isn’t as functional as the forms for SharePoint.""I think that it adds value to any organization, mainly in terms of business applications where you need workflows.""The solution has helped us to automate our business processes, our approval systems, and automation for quickly developing on SharePoint on-prem and SharePoint online.""It has a lot of features for creating and managing workflows, as well as for integrating with other applications. Nintex offers features, particularly to ensure a user-friendly experience.""The Vizio-style designer that runs in the browser is, to me, by far the most valuable feature of the solution. It means that the customer doesn’t have to install any client tools to create powerful workflows.""I find it useful to utilize LDAP query action to find out the status of a particular user.""With an extensive list of integrations with LOB data, your workflows can extend far beyond SharePoint, driving adoption of SharePoint."

"The stability of the product is very good.""All the features come as part of a standard license.""OpenText ProVision's best feature is the capability to attach a variety of attributes and extract and analyze that information."

Cons
"The solution is a bit too expensive. It could be cheaper.""Currently, a notable challenge lies in the alignment of user experiences across the eight or nine applications within the suite. Transitioning between applications can be somewhat cumbersome due to varying user interfaces. However, the provider is actively addressing this concern by consistently rolling out updates every four to five months, aimed at harmonizing and streamlining the interfaces. This ongoing effort is expected to enhance the user experience over time. In terms of functionality and features, the platform stands out, offering flexibility with the option for both on-premises and cloud deployment. This flexibility extends to the RPA tool, providing clients with choices tailored to their preferences. An advantage lies in the shared security and data infrastructure across the toolset, facilitating smooth data transfer between applications. This contrasts with experiences with Oracle, where data transfer may involve complexities such as the need for intermediary file formats like TXL or SCZ.""I think it was lacking a little bit in its multiple in-house processes and other processes. So there is a little bit of a gap in collaboration.""The licensing needs to be improved. Right now, we find it's getting more expensive to use the product.""Difficult to include external partners with the solution deployed on-premise.""Hawkeye is emerging as a reporting solution, but as a V1 product it’s not very useful yet.""Heavy, cumbersome and inflexible.""It's very tedious to manage."

"Lacks the ability to have your own in-house developments.""OpenText ProVision's collaboration management is quite complicated and difficult to use.""Integrating with or interfacing with other tools like data management tools would be very helpful."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Nintex products are expensive, but valuable. Licensing in on-premise was historically based on a perpetual model, where you’d license per Web front-end. However, they are switching exclusively to a consumption (subscription) model, where you purchase the number of workflows you think you’ll use in your environment, and can scale up from there."
  • "Offering a licensing model that allows for multiple small workflows would be a huge improvement to an already great platform."
  • "Our maintenance costs are reduced."
  • "The annual support costs are expensive."
  • "Comparatively, it's expensive."
  • "We pay on a yearly basis. It's my understanding that we pay approximately $11,000/year."
  • "The initial investment in K2 is heavy. Currently, the expenditure is $28,000 for a year. After we go to the cloud, it is going to be per seat and probably cheaper. Currently, there are unlimited users."
  • "There is an initial fee when purchasing and a fee for maintenance afterward."
