Has supported on-premise deployments well but could improve tool consolidation and flow development flexibility
I have analyzed but haven't used MuleSoft Composer extensively. I am not very proficient in the subject of pricing. Both platforms are performing well. If a customer is more SAP-centric, it makes sense to consider integration suite because of the predefined content. A customer will need to have SAP BTP for side-by-side application extensions. MuleSoft Composer is powerful and flexible in terms of installation options, with runtime either on cloud or fully on-premise. It is quite a popular platform. MuleSoft Composer might be less expensive than SAP integration suite, though this is an assumption as I haven't compared prices. I am accustomed to learning and studying with SAP documentation. The organization is more convenient for me, though there are plenty of documentation and resources for MuleSoft Composer as well. The context is the primary consideration. If a customer uses multiple SAP solutions, not just SAP for accounting, it makes sense to consider the integration suite due to better SAP compatibility. When SAP introduces new interface technology, integration suite will be the first to support it, while MuleSoft Composer will need time to develop new connectors. I rate this solution a six out of ten.

Simplified integrations bring flexibility and efficiency to diverse industries through comprehensive features and robust support
SAP is already trying to make improvements for SAP Process Orchestration by releasing updates every quarter, including patches and modules, and from a security standpoint, while it's a tightly coupled tool, they are introducing a lot of enhancements aligned with current market trends. There are standard contents readily available for starting integrations, which suit around 90% of every industry across verticals including pharma, manufacturing, and employee data central with SuccessFactors integration. Regarding functionality-wise improvements in SAP Process Orchestration, they are now incorporating the Salesforce system. Previously, we needed to rely on a third-party adapter for integration within SAP, but now they are building their own adapters to connect with Salesforce. Additionally, there are options like data connectors using Ariba coming up with SAP Process Orchestration. There's much more to explore, especially as they release new patches, enhancements, and adapters each quarter.

Pros

"The way Composer organizes and manages integration processes is most beneficial. We can easily monitor what's running and what isn't and troubleshoot any data integration issues."
"The solution invokes some RPS from Composer and then sends emails and flat notifications. It helps us integrate with any third-party SAPE or integration tools."
"The prebuilt connectors have saved our customers a lot of time and money."
"The functionality of MuleSoft to connect with any database is the most important feature."
"The advantage of using MuleSoft as part as the Salesforce ecosystem is that anything new they build is guaranteed to work with the new features that are coming from the other side."
"MuleSoft Composer is powerful and flexible in terms of installation options, with runtime either on cloud or fully on-premise."
"The product is easy to use. You don't need programming skills to use it."
"The most valuable features of SAP Process Orchestration are the standard APIs that we can use."
"The solution offers very good documentation and manuals to assist with understanding the solution."
"SAP Process Orchestration has all the features that are necessary."
"The most valuable feature of SAP Process Orchestration is its flexibility in being able to build integrations with SAP systems and non-SAP systems."
"In my opinion, SAP PO is the most mature suite of tools to integrate processes across SAP environments at this moment. It's really unbeatable because it allows you to integrate whatever scenarios you can imagine."
"SAP Process Orchestration is middleware where we are able to manage and interact with everything from a single location. One of the most beneficial areas is monitoring which is very easy because it is all in one place. There are many adapters added recently that can be used for new functionality. The solution is easy to operate and it is more mature than the cloud solution provided by SAP."
"The most valuable feature is the seamless integration with backend systems."
"Great monitoring tools and has its own alert framework."

Cons

"One additional feature they could add might be something like regional prices. Since we're based in Brazil, we pay in dollars but earn in Brazilian Real."
"I used Anypoint Studio, which is good though not very flexible."
"This solution could be improved by offering more integrations with other platforms."
"There is also one limitation. We cannot see logs, latencies, or request counts."
"MuleSoft Composer needs to improve its interface and scalability."
"There are some challenges with API sharing in Composer."
"The technical support team's response time must be improved."
"There are two main areas for improvement: performance and cost."
"It is not a scalable solution for the cloud. I would not recommend this for the cloud."
"I feel that support is an area that needs improvement. They need to improve the response time and address the customer's issues as soon as possible."
"SAP needs to improve a lot in terms of the orchestration part so that more adapters can be provided to users, which are areas where the solution has downsides."
"This is an on-premise platform and one area they can improve on is having the ability to work with SaaS solutions."
"The solution could be more scalable."
"The solution could improve by making it more user-friendly by limiting the code required. We have to add some code in some cases where we need complex logic or some other functions. If this was able to be done in a more simplified manner then it would save a lot of effort and time."
"It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development."
