Offers profiling and address standardization but can be complicated
Informatica Data Quality has its data warehouse, primarily using Oracle and some SQL databases. You need a database to host the data. The cleansed version of the data is stored in the data warehouse. It integrates with PowerCenter and other Informatica tools. The integration details can be complex, but a regional setup is involved in this process. Profiling smaller datasets, such as 10,000-50,000 records, worked fine. However, unexpected issues could arise with larger datasets, such as thousands of records or more, especially with tables containing many columns. Handling tables with fifty or more columns can be challenging, even in Excel. A mismatch in data types could cause the entire system to crash. Continual enhancements are being made to address these issues, which can be unique to specific industries like finance and healthcare.

Works well, but its interface should be a bit more user-friendly
We use it for our process flows and levels of approvals, but I am not managing it directly Its performance, stability, and security are fine. Its interface should be a bit more user-friendly. I have been using this solution for close to a year. It is stable. It is easy to scale. We currently…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The mass ingestion functionality and the elasticity of the solution are great."
"The Mapping Configuration and PowerCenter wizards are valuable. We use them to run our business logic."
"The most valuable feature of Informatica Axon is features, interfaces, and data mapping. It represents clusters nicely."
"The most valuable feature of Informatica Axon has been the data marketplace."
"It is quite easy to use and flexible."
"I do find Informatica Data Quality is stable. It generally maintains a high level of reliability and stability, making it an asset."
"The Provisioning tool is something that is really handy for everyone. It is my pick as the best feature."
"You can extract and transfer your data as you wish it to be consumed later."
"Its performance, stability, and security are fine."
"What I like most is the seamlessness of the workflow capabilities."

Cons

"The solution doesn't directly connect to any of the analytical tools."
"I would also like to have profiling functionalities and quality transformations in the cloud."
"Informatica's issue is the licensing. Right now, there are a lot of new gen MDMs that are offering a lot in a single licensing model."
"The cloud version of the Informatica, it's a very substandard product. They might say it's enterprise-ready but it's not at all ready. They need to add more features, such as improved data replication features. If you look at other tools, such as Matillion they are now cloud-native and flexible. Additionally, Informatica Cloud Data Integration should have a good migration strategy from Informatica PowerCenter to Informatica Cloud Data Integration."
"It can be improved in terms of performance and execution. I'm expecting better performance. It currently has some restrictions in terms of execution. For example, if we want to run it in the command mode and execute it, there are some restrictions, and we are facing some issues with a huge volume of data. These restrictions are not there in Informatica PowerCenter because we are able to execute a huge volume of data, and there are more ways to execute it."
"Compared to other tools in the market, Informatica MDM is costly."
"We promote our code changes from a lower to a higher environment, which is highly complex when working with a multi-domain MDM like Informatica. This is the biggest obstacle for Informatica MDM, and I think they should change it because that's very time consuming."
"While my company operates on the cloud, we have seen that Informatica Cloud Data Integration has some performance issues causing it to lag."
"Its interface should be a bit more user-friendly."
"This solution only supports basic text, but we would like to be able to insert components such as rich text, graphs, charts, pictures, and other objects."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing model is easy, but it is very expensive."
"The price is very high and has become a big concern for our customers who require the solution in order for their business to function smoothly."
"I rate the product's pricing a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is the lowest price and ten is the highest price."
"Pricing is determined by the number of licensed users as well as the number of Core CPUs."
"The pricing is quite flexible."
"The price of Informatica Cloud Data Integration could be reduced."
"The pricing structure is good, but having to pay for extra drivers to be used in an ICS environment makes me a little nervous."
"We switched to Informatica PIM because it was cheaper than the Oracle solution. It is cheaper initially, but they will bundle it later. This is what happens in the industry."
"We have a yearly license."
