We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"provides all modules, supply chain, HR - it's good for management.""It's very stable, and it handles all types of industrial and manufacturing businesses in very good ways. I've found it to be easy.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the Infor GL tool that allows us to do our application support and development.""Its ease of use is most valuable. Inquiries are transparent, and it shows good information on each screen. We don't have to go to 14 different screens to find out about one item, which is a big advantage."

"The most important feature of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is that it lets us centralize all our information so that we don't need to rely on any other software outside of Microsoft.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is its simplicity of accounting and receiving reports. The solution is similar to Microsoft Excel, and that similarity is good. All the functions of Microsoft Dynamics are user-friendly.""Microsoft products are very good in general. This product is flexible, easy to use, intuitive, and has good capabilities.""Microsoft Dynamics NAV's most valuable feature is the integration with other Microsoft solutions.""Microsoft Dynamics NAV is brilliant and it's a different segment when comparing it with Dynamics AX. Dynamics AX is a larger product with much more features and it's aimed at a different segment of the market.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward.""For me, the main strengths of Microsoft Dynamics NAV are that it's user-friendly and light. These are its major wins. I have used other ERPs and their architecture were a little more complex when compared to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV architecture.""I like Microsoft Dynamics' simplicity. The interface is excellent, and it's a highly mature product. You can hardly find any bugs in the product."

Cons
"Its initial setup was probably complex, but it is a very good system.""Infor should create one product to handle the whole business. At present, they make ERP systems for each type of business, and then sell additional features. I would like to have one system handing all organizations or all the business in deep ways and not have to buy additional features.""The solution is stable but not agile.""The implementation could be simplified, it's complex."

More Infor M3 Cons →

"Microsoft Dynamics NAV will be replaced with Office 365 in the future.""I think Microsoft should improve on the process of how the user decides on a business workflow. For example, there may be some kind of drag-and-drop interface that lets us decide for ourselves how to develop the business workflows that fit our purpose.""I am hoping there is more integration with other platforms, more features, and customization in the next release.""It would be nice if the integration process was easier.""As our company grew we had to switch from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to a solution that was suited for larger-sized companies.""The initial setup of the solution was quite complex and the troubleshooting involved with that needs to be improved.""The performance and virtual machine backup is not good with this solution and need improvements.""In Thailand, the support here could be better. The process to get an answer is too long."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "There is a yearly licensing cost. The price is based on the modules you need. There are several modules, such as HR module, accounting module, sales module, scheduling module, etc., and the price will vary depending on the number of modules you choose. The customers always say that it's very expensive. It can cost a lot of money if your organization is huge. It's not implemented in a lot of organizations in my country because it's too expensive."

  • "The first time we tried to buy the newest version, it was expensive."
  • "I have some subscription-based customer and a few customers who have perpetual licenses that hosted the application on the cloud."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."
  • "I think the pricing is the best; it's cost effective for sure."
  • "Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a pay-as-you-use payment model."
  • "NAV might be a little pricey for a small or medium-sized company, but all the solutions out there are."
  • "The cost is one of the benefits. If you don't want to go for the full-blown finance and operations, the pricing model is a lot cheaper and has now switched to being based on a per-user subscription. So, if it's on cloud, you now have an expense instead of a large CapEx. If it's on-prem, you obviously still have to continue with the licensing model that they have, but if you compare the features and functionality, in terms of the price that you pay, I find it's better than other products. My answer on the pricing would be slightly different, depending on the country you're in and the return on investment, based on the size of the company. It's well-priced internationally. I think the new model is priced even better because it's now subscription-based and, if you go for cloud, the return on investment is a lot quicker and if it's expense, you can cap it. If you do take the on-prem version, the licensing is still priced as what it used to be, so that would depend on what country you are in."
