Supports secure remote authentication and provides comprehensive user activity tracking
The most important feature is the security capability because it provides a substantial amount of security for admin-related activities. Fortinet FortiAuthenticator can be used from anywhere in the world, and the authenticator services function globally. This global accessibility is one of the critical advantages, particularly since admin features are critical and security is a real concern. With Fortinet FortiAuthenticator, secure usage of firewall services and related functions is achieved. A complete log of all users who access the authenticator setup is maintained. Monthly logs are reviewed to check for any unnoticed activities. Each authenticated user's complete activity history is recorded. This logging capability allows for providing access to more admin users while ensuring security is not compromised and all users can be monitored.

Gives us everything we need to ensure that our customers have a safe and reliable authentication system
It would be nice to have a export button to file with all tenants/users so that in case of a disaster we will have the option to restore the users from file. For security certifications, we need to make sure we can restore all of our products and data in minimal time. We are backing up the data using the API but it will be better to export everything to an external file so in case of a disaster or mistake from our side, we can have the option to reload all the users and assign them to the relevant tenant as fast as possible

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I really like the two-step authentication, it provides a higher level of security that we didn't have previously."
"The product's on-premise version doesn't have recurring costs."
"FortiCare can provide prompt replies."
"FortiAuthenticator has created a straightforward easy-to-use product."
"It has simplified network management, reduced operational costs, and ensured seamless connectivity across all our sites."
"The implementation has significantly improved access management within our organization."
"The solution is simple to deploy, simple to use, and user-friendly."
"The most valuable features are the performance and ease of use."
"We like the SSO, permissions and roles, multiple workspaces, and react login components."
"The admin portal layer is super useful and saves valuable front-end development time."
"The MFA policy via Frontegg allows us to enable/disable/enforce the Multi-Factor Authentication policy of our users and to enhance security and adhere to modern standards."
"SaaS companies like ours can just focus on what matters and not spend time on building SaaS essentials such as audit logs, SSO etc."
"Every feature is multi-tenant by design, making different customer requests effortless to provide."
"The frontend side is a major benefit that I am happy I can give my customers from day one, without compromising."
"Frontegg enabled us to worry less about parts of the system that are not unique to our product, and instead spend more time developing out key value propositions."
"Their developers were always willing to meet even though we are in very different time zones."

Cons

"We had issues trying to integrate the keys properly during the initial setup."
"Other features that would improve the product are a single sign-on where people can use their Gmail ID to log-in, etc."
"It does the job I paid for, but the graphical interface could be improved."
"The one thing they used to include was the SMS gateway from the ISP; Fortinet used to sell that but they don't anymore and I think it would be helpful for end-users if they brought it back."
"If you want some other FortiAuthenticator from one site to another site, you should have requirements, but really if you have authentication and directory or another solution, you should change the password of the authenticator between the solution and the directory and other things. So transfer of data and other information should be simpler."
"Fortinet FortiAuthenticator provides only authentication. It should also enable authorization services"
"The technical support team is bad."
"I would like to see more integration and inclusion of features for ransomware protection directly within the FortiAuthenticator without requiring additional devices."
"The PHP SDK is limited. It's not a huge deal as we can just use their web API directly, but it is something to note if you're using PHP.‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎"
"We're hoping to see more user management-related features, according to Frontegg's roadmap."
"Frontegg is fairly stable, however, we are looking forward to some promised capabilities, such as more tightly integrated Feature Flag support."
"The web interface is missing a way to delete a workspace. I have accidentally created a workspace and was not able to delete it. It's a minor thing that should be supported."
"We really like the ability to add the same user across tenants. From a UX perspective, the flow can be betterized."
"It would be nice to have a export button to file with all tenants/users so that in case of a disaster we will have the option to restore the users from file."
"The PHP SDK is limited."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a high price and ten is a low price, I rate the pricing a seven."
"I would rate the pricing a four out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive. It is not that costly. It is cheap, easy to manage, easy to install, and easy to configure."
"The cost of the license could be less expensive. The license is paid on a yearly basis."
"The pricing is fair."
"The product has affordable pricing compared to other vendors."
"It is usually cheap. Without a license, you can use some basic features. You can buy a 20-year license and implement the solution once."
"The price seems okay. It's not that expensive compared to other authenticators."
"When we buy the Fortinet FortiAuthenticator device there is a comparison between price and security."
