Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most significant advantage lies in its runbook features, particularly beneficial for our infrastructure team.""It provides all the security to us. Without getting on the internet, we can access our servers. We can access our desktop through our web browser. We don't need to run the mstsc command and login to the VM. All those things are not required.""The interface is available in the edit portal.""The product's setup is easy.""The connection to virtual machines is very useful.""The ability to operate the product with scripting is excellent.""As an Azure consultant, for me, it is the best way to give the administrator access as you can manage the permission - including who can access Bastion.""Azure Bastion makes it easy to provide quick virtual machine access to our customers."

"The main advantage is that Intune performs its intended functions effectively.""The solution appears to be stable and scalable.""As the solution is a software as a service, the scalability is unlimited.""It has helped with compliance. It has helped to ensure that devices comply with the organization's policy. If they are not compliant and secure, they cannot access the resources.""The most valuable includes managing everything from a single console.""Autopilot is the most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune.""I like that it's very good and very simple. I found that we just needed to have a proper subscription for an Intune tenant, and from the subscription, if we have the right role assigned, like the global admin role or the owner role, we can use Microsoft cloud resources. With the help of that, we can do many things like setting up Microsoft Intune in the cloud to create our virtual machines. All these can be done, and the steps are very simple. I really liked it. I like features like Windows Auto-Enrollment. I like it very much because whenever you supply it to the end-user, it will be ready to use immediately. The end-user only needs to provide the user credentials, and then they are good to go. I also really like Cloud PC, which was recently launched on Azure.""It's really easy to access."

Cons
"While general support is valuable, having a detailed breakdown of the specific issues would contribute to a more streamlined and efficient resolution process.""You are charged for retrieving your own data.""We are not able to copy and paste files directly into the server over the patch host. We have to transfer files over to Azure Storage.""There are some challenges because Bastion is more compatible with Edge but not with the other browsers. As an organization, it doesn't make sense that we have to use only Edge. We should be able to access Bastion over Chrome, Mozilla, or Opera. It should be our choice.""The solution breaks down sometimes.""When you have a boot issue on Windows, you cannot use Azure Bastion to fix it. You have to use the Azure console or the VM console, and it is very limited.""The protocol speed could be faster."

More Azure Bastion Cons →

"One big problem with Microsoft is that they're changing the names of the products quite often, or they're quite consistently doing so. Intune is now Endpoint administration. Constantly switching the user interface or the administrative interface makes it quite hard to keep pace. If you are on a two-week holiday and you come back and look at the same screen you have looked at for the last couple of months, it looks different, which is annoying. Changing things around all the time doesn't make it easy.""There is improvement needed in integrating with the installed Office solutions versions, such as Office 2019. The Office 365 integrates without a problem.""In terms of what can be improved, I am looking for better enhancements regarding Apple management, not only on the mobile device, but also on the laptop.""It would be better if I could integrate it with my core group policy. I would like to have a group policy in my current environment, which has strict control, but those things are still missing. Although it has maximum compliance and security, it's not available on-premise.""Data leak prevention can be integrated into it. Currently, it does not have data leak prevention.""I think there should be a better tracking of the cell phones used on the Intune.""Having a dedicated configuration server that assists in modifying the configuration service, and creating personalized structures, interfaces, and web services could enhance usability.""There is still a gap between SCCM and Intune, especially in the reporting, inventory, and software deployment areas."

    Overview

Azure Bastion is a service you deploy that lets you connect to a virtual machine using your browser and the Azure portal. The Azure Bastion service is a fully platform-managed PaaS service that you provision inside your virtual network. It provides secure and seamless RDP/SSH connectivity to your virtual machines directly from the Azure portal over TLS. When you connect via Azure Bastion, your virtual machines do not need a public IP address, agent, or special client software.

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
