Network automation has reduced troubleshooting time and supports faster issue resolution
The biggest and best feature I have experienced with Auvik Network Management (ANM) is automatic network discovery, along with features such as topology map, instant alerts, real-time monitoring, easy remote access, and simple dashboards. Among those features, I find automatic network discovery to be the most useful because it gives a clear picture of the entire network without having to create manual diagrams. It is very easy to use Auvik Network Management (ANM), so even a new team member can quickly understand the network because everything is displayed in a very clear way. Auvik Network Management (ANM) has positively impacted our organization by reducing troubleshooting time, improving network visibility, providing a very clear picture, and helping us support multiple client networks and environments very efficiently. We have noticed a 35 to 40% improvement in troubleshooting speed, less manual work in documenting any network system, faster responses to network issues, and better uptime with the client networks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With Auvik, we just grab and restore the config file, there are fewer steps for us to do as an organization, it has recaptured some time that we can give back to other tasks, and our MTTR has been reduced by at least 50 percent because, as a switch goes down, we get the alert without having our client call us."
"The most advantageous feature is the ability to back up the configuration settings on switches and routers."
"Overall, I appreciate that Auvik Network Management (ANM) brings monitoring, mapping, alerts, traffic analysis, and configuration management into a single and easy-to-use dashboard, which saves time and simplifies day-to-day network administration."
"There are many things I like about the product. It's cloud-based and automatically refreshes the network container. We like the automatic backups and the comparison between backups. It's straightforward to set up, and it integrates with many protocols."
"The feature I find most valuable in Auvik Network Management (ANM) is the rapid alerting system for when systems go up and down. T"
"The way Auvik allows us to manage our infrastructure provides a top-level view of everything, solving several past issues."
"Credential management is the most valuable feature. It's helpful to have everything in one essential place."
"Monitoring is probably the most active thing Auvik does for us. If a particular device on the network goes down, we have that granularity to see which network element is causing the problem."
"The machine learning feature is valuable."
"The Centerity gives us exactly what we need from performance system monitoring."
"Centerity is much more than a monitoring tool — it’s a unified, end-to-end, enterprise-class and multi-tenanted AIOps Platform that is purpose-built to help MSPs and data-centers deliver the highest levels of up-time and performance."

Cons

"I would like to see Auvik have some more documentation with a typical CM solution like Splunk. I want to see more examples of things like configuring port forwarding for firewalls. In addition to collecting data from different types of appliances, I would like to customize more of the metrics for each appliance."
"For the most part, it's great for visualizing the network mapping/topology for our organization. However, when complex VLAN networks are involved, sometimes, the picture can get a little cloudy. It would definitely be nice if there was some way of choosing a VLAN to view or something like that. They should definitely improve the handling of multiple networks and VLANs."
"We use a service called Tailscale, a peer-to-peer private networking tool. My biggest issue with Auvik was getting it to scan devices across the Tailscale network. I suspect it's not supported there. That would be a valuable extension for us."
"I've had some trouble using Auvik's device proxy, which allows technicians to connect to network devices through Auvik's platform."
"I chose eight out of ten because sometimes I face slow performance issues, which is why I am cutting two points from the score."
"I would like to see some recommendations in terms of steps that could be taken to assess the alerts."
"I would like to see more extensive syslog capabilities."
"The one feature we need is that when something goes down, we need a phone call, a text message, or something like that, not just an email alert. This is something they don't do. So, we have another service that does that for us. It would be nice to have that integrated into this, but at the moment, we have a way around it, which is with another partner of ours."
"One of the major improvements should be it implementation as a SaaS"
"They can improve the functionality that provides some numbers related to the behavior of the metrics."
"The GUI must be improved. Graphs must be changed including high level maps"

Pricing and Cost Advice

"They charge for switches and some networking hardware, but everything else is free."
"The billing is excellent. The way they bill it, in most environments, it's not that expensive. The billing is very cost-effective."
"They are way too lenient in their pricing. To put that simply, I can have an entire network being monitored and it will cost nothing, as long as I'm not monitoring the firewall or the switches."
"Auvik Network Management's pricing was surprisingly reasonable."
"The price of Auvik is okay. It is appropriate for the market."
"The pricing is fair; it's just the right price for what the solution provides."
"The pricing is pretty reasonable for what we get. It's billed by certain, core network devices that it monitors, but I'm not billed for all the devices it monitors. For example, wireless access points and small things like that, throughout the network, are not billed."
"From a client perspective, pricing is always an issue. Nobody wants to pay more than necessary. You need to be aware of the number of billable managed products, because they will greatly increase the cost of Auvik..."
