Automation has reduced manual reporting tasks and improved delivery speed
Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation has an opportunity to be improved in many ways, especially with AI. I see some improvements there and it can definitely be enhanced. Maybe even leveraging the cloud product rather than having Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation running on your local network would help. Because now you need to connect through a VPN. I understand because organizations don't want to share their data. However, using it as a subscription service can help to connect from anywhere. But then you just need to make sure that the data also complies with the POPI Act and all of those other acts for protecting the data.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The automation features of Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation have assisted us to deliver quickly, especially if you have captured everything on ARIS, then you just need to run a report, and some of the elements are automated."
"The tremendous benefit comes from how these features of UiPath Platform have benefited our organization, as we have implemented close to 100 automation for our finance teams, supply chain teams, IT teams, and even some for HR."
"The feature I like the most is ONEWEB UI automation. UiPath's OCR technology also works well. There is another feature called Action Center that lets you decide what happens after the data is captured."
"The highest benefit of it is that it's just there, ready to use, and you don't need to start from a blank screen."
"UiPath Platform is good at detecting UIs."
"The most valuable feature is the general automation that UiPath offers, especially in improving data collection which allows for a more comprehensive analysis of information on invoices."
"The software itself is relatively straightforward and easy to use."
"The most valuable features of UiPath are the user-friendly UI and manageable learning curve."
"The tool has improved our organization by reducing operational costs through process automation and cutting FTEs. We can do more regression testing for test automation, leading to better products. It's helped minimize our on-premises footprint to some extent and aided organizational restructuring."

Cons

"Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation has an opportunity to be improved in many ways, especially with AI."
"I would like to see them integrate with generative AI like ChatGPT."
"The user interface can be improved and the version control can be better."
"I have used the AI functionality for PDF automations. In these processes, the bot is able to capture the data properly about 70 to 80 percent of the time. But if a document is not proper or it isn't handled the right way, the bot struggles to get the required data. UiPath has to work on this aspect so that the bot will be able to completely capture the data."
"Some of the transitions from the forum to submitting a ticket are a little clunky. If a ticket could be submitted on my behalf on the forum, then have me boot over to where the ticket is, that is fine. Just kicking me out of the forum, then having me submit a ticket seems counterintuitive to me."
"There is a need for more integrations with external technologies like OpenAI, Gemini, SAP, Bedrock, BambooHR, etc."
"The testing time and process were somewhat challenging. While deployment was straightforward and easy, the testing part, particularly testing the functional use case, was difficult."
"Some of the releases have been a little shaky."
"It would be good if the product could work locally, without depending on the internet, as connectivity issues can cause problems."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It is very costly to implement RPA. However, I think the benefits outweigh the costs over a long-term period."
"UiPath's licensing could be cheaper and more dynamic. The licensing can sometimes feel high, especially for smaller companies, but generally, the pricing is reasonable when considering the time saved and corresponding costs."
"It is reasonable considering the benefits of automating the processes."
"There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
"Different licenses are used to activate features that the organization wants to use. For example, they offer licenses for UiPath Studio X, attended automation, unattended automation, document understanding, and so forth."
"I find UiPath a reasonably priced solution."
"Compared to other automation tools, UiPath is expensive."
"Its price is reasonable. UiPath's licensing is not a problem for us because we are a big company, but for small companies that need automation, it is difficult to afford. I am from Sri Lanka, and in our country, SMBs do not invest this amount of money into licensing. For a big company, it is not an issue."
