Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Using Python in Robocorp enhances performance
In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area. Other products are charged based on the licenses. However, Robocorp is not doing it that way. They are charging based on a run basis. Therefore, in that way, the company might benefit in terms of license costs and the return on investment, considering what they are putting in and what they are getting out of it.

Automates browsing tasks without needing a server connection
I have worked with Microsoft Power Platform and UiPath. Kofax RPA offers a comprehensive solution with built-in capabilities for executing tasks like running Excel files and web automation without additional servers. They provide their browsers and extensions. For functions such as OCR, image processing, and data extraction, Kofax has built-in features powered by their engine, eliminating the need for subscriptions to external technologies like Microsoft Cognitive Services or Google Search. One of Kofax RPA's strongest features is its on-premise solution, which is particularly beneficial for organizations operating in regions with data regulations, such as the UAE.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We've been using a lot of object cloning and screen scraping, but we've also had success with: inbuilt email functionality, some integrations to incorporate heterogeneous systems like Python scripting, etc."
"This product is easy to use, and it helps business users to more easily understand RPA."
"Automation Anywhere is very simple to use; the features are very simple, the application is light, and overall I love it."
"Time-wise: We have saved hundreds of thousands of hours."
"I love the Bot Store. I encourage a lot of my staff to use it, because it changes the game and the time that it takes to build automation. It has a lot of reusable things that you can use off the bat."
"The most valuable feature of the product is the flexibility, as there are so many features that you can use to develop, and it can hit a lot of use cases."
"Automation Anywhere has helped us in many ways and is one of the best RPA tools."
"From the second year onward, ROI is achieved, which is a great thing because year-over-year you are accruing those benefits."
"As a developer, I found it easy to integrate third-party applications with Robocorp. I have previous experience with Selenium, and I found the Robocorp framework to be accessible because it uses Python and Selenium keywords."
"The solution is based on Python which makes it very valuable."
"Time complexity is reduced and the execution speed is much higher."
"Robocorp is based on Python, so you can use Python scripts and create libraries for your use cases. Building libraries and custom scripts for a particular client and general use cases is easy. We can reuse those scripts for other clients, so we start seeing benefits quickly."
"I have worked with UiPath and Automation Anywhere previously. Robocorp offers an improved development style and support as well as flexibility of its tools. You can easily develop custom libraries in Robocorp."
"The ability to create separate organizations on this platform makes it easier to bill each of the clients separately."
"The process execution and all features are very good."
"I like the fact that it's very fast. The processing speed is good, and that's what matters to me. I also like that we don't have to bother with the infrastructure setup. We don't have to care about the status of the data set, as I believe the local group will provide it. We don't care about the licensing model. We only have to care about how long we are using it."
"The drag and drop functionality is quite good."
"This is a stable platform and we did not encounter any big problems."
"The product saves time and resources."
"You can automate browsing tasks without needing a server connection. The platform provides its browser, allowing you to run anything inside it."
"The best part of Kofax is that they have a whole concept; it's one product, but also has extra elements that can be integrated, and if you take the whole package with the extra products you can digitize it using RPA and also by using the other products they provide."
"Kofax RPA has provided our organization with a lot of savings in many different areas and we have improvements in data quality."
"It is a stable product."
"The most valuable features are workflow and process automation."

Cons

"Automation Anywhere has some limitation with its integrations."
"The customization feature should be made more user-friendly in order to enable the use of external reference components."
"Sometimes, I find that Excel automation is not as expected. Excel automation can be enhanced."
"They could improve the environmental stabilizing issues. There are a lot of environmental issues when rolling over from one environment to another, higher environment. This is the one thing they definitely need to look into."
"Migration is probably our biggest challenge. When we were trying to do the migration to the new version, it was a little bit painful. We didn't have that many bots, and I can't imagine the level of effort that some of the bigger customers have to put in for that. The product is stable, but moving from one release to the other was the issue."
"Automation Anywhere's network has room for improvement."
"If we are going through the high availability in the IQ Bot setup, it's a bit complex."
"I would like to see more complex use cases coming out for our industry."
"It would be better if it were more user-friendly for non-technical users. It would be better if they had some drag-and-drop features to create logic."
"The deployment process is complex and not straightforward, especially for legacy modernization."
"An additional feature I'm looking for in Robocorp is SAP automation."
"We use the latest version of the process studio and it takes up a lot of CPU storage. In our case, this has been up to 14 GB of storage."
"They should fully develop Robocorp Studio because it would attract a lot of people to the Robocorp platform."
"The platform's documentation could be better."
"The standard libraries in Robocorp should be more advanced."
"There are certain libraries in Python, such as those dealing with PDF automation and word files, that require the presence of certain external dependencies in the environment to be successfully used."
"Exception handling needs to be improved."
"The interface could be better from a usability standpoint."
"Kofax RPA could improve web-based automation and there should be a choice of what browser we can use, such as Google Chrome, instead of an inbuilt browser from Kofax RPA. Additionally, Kofax RPA is missing an orchestrator that other solutions have, such as UiPath."
"The negative side is that UiPath has a really large community on the RPA side, and Tungsten RPA doesn't have any community for the developer side, which is a red flag for us and for customers."
"Automation with the latest websites is not effective. The support of newer websites developed using new technologies would improve this solution."
"Unless it's necessary to interact with or extract information from complex documents, I would recommend choosing a different solution than Kofax RPA."
"Its documentation is not widely available on the web. They should work on the availability of its documentation. In Automation Anywhere, there is a feature called Discovery Bot that automatically records the process steps and suggests a possible bot. I am not sure if such a feature is available in Kofax. If it is not available, it will be very good to have this feature. "
"Kofax needs to create a community where developers have the opportunity to donate to it. The education surrounding this solution should be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The certifications are free of cost."
"Whatever investment, licensing, and resource costs together are put in for development and delivery, we are still at an ROI of 250 percent."
"We have seen ROI in terms of cost and time with a couple of our projects."
"The pricing model can be a bit more flexible."
"I would rate the cost of Automation Anywhere as a six out of ten, with ten being the most expensive."
"It looks like it will be right around $115,000, not counting IQ Bot, which we won't renew until later."
"Pricing is a bit high when compared to other available tools; however, the tool is worth the cost."
"The licensing cost could be improved. It costs a lot. At the very least, the developer licenses and the control panels should be made free to enterprises, and the production environment licensed."
"The price is cheaper than other competitors. I would rate the cost as one out of five."
"The pricing is fine."
"In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area."
"The product has good pricing."
"It's a cost-effective solution."
"The solution is a very affordable price."
"Robocorp is much better in terms of pricing compared to UiPath."
"You don't have to pay for the license. You have to pay for the time you use it."
"There is a standard license needed to use Kofax RPA and the price is reasonable."
"Kofax RPA is moderately priced but expensive in comparison to UiPath and Power Automate."
"I give the price of the solution a six out of ten."
"The solution’s license is not expensive."
"Kofax's prices are pretty reasonable."
"The cost depends on the number of licenses and the number of RPAs."
"The normal price for an on-premises license is €50,000. That's the price for one robot license. You can have more than one robot license but only one can be run at any one time. I believe the cost of adding a second robot is around €14,000."
"Kofax RPA's licensing costs are yearly and expensive."
