Powerful tool, beneficial process mining variants, and scalable
The initial setup of Process Mining Group ProM was easy for me. However, I have been an application manager for quite some time and I am not comparable to the average person. I was able to install the solution within a few minutes. Additionally, we use the solution for summer school, we have to develop course material around it.

Process visualization and collaboration enhance decision-making but improvements in licensing and support are needed
It is effective in real-time, although there are a few shortcomings. For example, in SAP Signavio, if you have two or three systems through which your process is flowing and it creates a multi-event log, that is where SAP Signavio has its shortcoming as it doesn't support multi-event logs. The seamless connection with various data sources impacts the ability to generate accurate and actionable insights, especially if it is SAP as your source system, making it pretty easy. However, if it goes beyond SAP, that is when it becomes difficult and ineffective with respect to cost. For example, we recently did an analysis in which we were almost going to pay 10 times the cost of a normal process mining tool if we used SAP Signavio. What they are doing is counting the number of records and processes dealt with, which may not accurately reflect your data. This issue particularly arises when your data is lean, as the number of records can become inflated, leading to expensive charges that are not recommended for non-SAP tools, especially for real-time data streams. The license structure of SAP Signavio Process Intelligence should be improved for the next release. For example, charging by the number of records becomes inefficient, particularly for systems where comments may be numerous and irrelevant to the actual usage of the data.

Cons

"Process Mining Group ProM could improve user-friendliness and the error messages that are provided are not helpful for end users."
"Process Mining Group ProM could improve user-friendliness and the error messages that are provided are not helpful for end users."
"SAP Signavio Process Intelligence should improve the usability and features that refer to the integration of business processes and system data."
"What I would improve in SAP Signavio Process Intelligence is the speed at which we can connect different data sources to it, and also understanding more around when a record is truly a record, because it can use up capacity very quickly."
"Process Intelligence is still a relatively new feature and has room to provide even more value to us."
"When it comes to Signavio, as I've worked on Celonis, I've observed two things in Celonis and Signavio. In Celonis, using the process mining tool, we can implement automation skills. So we can take actions to improve the process as well. That is one thing."
"With the new release, I have some problems. Actually, with Signavio, many of the processes are not viewable for unclear reasons."
"The UI could be improved."
"SAP has to figure out a better way to price it. Their licensing structure isn't ideal as it's based on data; therefore, it's hard to estimate client costs."
"The solution is a good one but could be improved by making the interface more user friendly."
