Provides video calling facilities with good video and audio clarity
Polycom RealPresence Clariti is very bad when moving towards the cloud. I think that Microsoft Teams and Zoom have already taken over the market. Polycom is currently looking into more end devices than server components and infrastructure. A cloud version would have been better, but that will not be feasible for Polycom now. It would have been helpful to have a cloud version during the migration stages, but now the time has gone. As a company, it's better for Polycom to look into the video conferencing devices rather than the infrastructure. Earlier, one of the advantages was that the infrastructure was very much open, and it was easy to integrate the tool with other platforms like Cisco. That is not the scenario now, and Polycom should concentrate on the endpoint hardware devices.

Allows an ease of access to various systems and has a straightforward setup process

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It does a good job of integrating with other software."
"It's on-prem, which is great."
"The most valuable feature is its integration with solutions like Zoom and Teams for endpoints. The picture quality is high, and the conference sessions are stable."
"Some proprietary Polycom features include speaker tracking, acoustic fencing, noise cancellation, active noise cancellation, and noise cancellation AI."
"I find the ability to follow the calls, the call flow, the ability to look at the history, and more on the fault-finding tools to be valuable."
"It's a user-friendly product."
"I recommend it as a solution for remote disk users."
"I find the mouse control and the ability to click for them very effective. I can move the mouse and click on buttons as if sitting at their computer. These are the basic features I use most often in the solution. There are tricker features that I don't use much because I don't need them frequently. Overall, it's a great tool for helping others with their computer issues without traveling to their location or another building."
"It is easy to use and has a pretty good UI."
"The product allows easy access to any system in case of any issues."
"TeamViewer has a good interface."
"The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the ability for administrators to lock the remote systems, simple connections, and easy login access."
"TeamViewer has been one of the easiest, right off the bat products, that we have employed at the college. We have had no issues. It's been one of the easiest solutions to pick up."

Cons

"Could have a wider range of use cases."
"The only issue we have is with some of the bridging stuff, particularly with respect to DTMF and outgoing calls."
"Polycom RealPresence Clariti is very bad when moving towards the cloud."
"The customer needs this platform to be a little bit more customized."
"The most valuable feature is its integration with solutions like Zoom and Teams for endpoints. The picture quality is high, and the conference sessions are stable."
"I am not sure about all the features of TeamViewer, but if they have no voice communication or file transfer features they should add them."
"The business interface is clunky and not well-documented."
"It would be very helpful if they could provide a manual for the installation process and describe more of their features."
"The solution could be improved by enhancing the use of the mobile version to be used on phones."
"The solution could improve by increasing or removing the time limitation on the use of a session."
"There is a paid version of this solution with more features available. However, they should provide more free features to the user, such as factor authentication."
"On occasion, when remote connection process can't connect to a machine, the error messages aren't always helpful to tell you why you can't connect, as the message doesn't help troubleshoot whether it is too slow, too much interference, etc. I usually have to run to another computer and figure out what is going on, then restart it. The diagnostics could be improved."
"We access the solution through a VPN, which improves our security. However, earlier this year, around the beginning of March, a CVE in the TeamViewer client allowed remote connections to other network systems, which was concerning. You could have unintentionally gained admin rights if you didn't update TeamViewer promptly. It's crucial to always keep it updated to prevent such issues. The tool should consider implementing two-factor authentication to improve such security holes. It should also integrate good security updates, which should be implemented automatically."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Polycom RealPresence Clariti is definitely more expensive than others in the market because of its high quality."
"We have a corporate license. The maximum amount number of users changes based on the amount you pay. E.g., with our license, there is a maximum amount of users who can use the solution at the same time (10 users)."
"We're using the free version. We do not pay any licensing fees."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable."
"It has probably saved us several thousands of dollars because we have quick access anywhere. We don't have to worry about finding people onsite or arranging conference calls. We also save time and money with it because we don't have to send somebody onsite to troubleshoot."
"I used the free version of TeamViewer."
"There is no license needed to use TeamViewer."
"The cost is in the thousands of dollars per year."
"It would be nice if it is cheaper."
