Useful for B2B retail operations and order management but UI is bland and old
The UI might not be the fanciest, and since it's an older system, our customers are sometimes hesitant to invest in it. They're even considering moving to new e-commerce solutions, maybe even something custom-built in-house. It's quite basic and bland compared to today's modern web developments, which have enhanced user experiences. We're just providing support services to our customers, and they’ve been exploring a move to Oracle Commerce. However, there's some concern about Oracle Commerce's future, especially since support for version 11.3.2 is set to end in March 2025. We haven’t heard back from Oracle regarding any plans to extend support. We’re just keeping the lights on for now, but a transformation might be on the horizon. We have done some proof of concept with Oracle Commerce.

Uses data-driven insights to improve workflows and highlights a need for simpler automation tools
Salesforce Sales Cloud can be improved in several areas. First, the UI is an area for enhancement. Even though they've launched Lightning, it's clunky at times with page load speeds. It also needs to be made extremely more user-friendly. For new people using Salesforce Sales Cloud, there is a steep learning curve. Additionally, giving non-admins the ability to make changes on the fly is something that I feel is necessary. Currently with Salesforce Sales Cloud, you need to have a consultant. It's hard to build the flows or workflows. Making it easier for that end-user who's not so technically minded to help themselves is essential. I choose seven out of ten because I think you need a consultant or a consulting company to help you build it out. Certain changes should be made much easier and more user-friendly where an admin can do it. The automation processes need to be much simpler. If you're looking at other tools out there, for example SalesLoft or HubSpot, it's much easier to build those workflows and do automation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool is useful for B2B retail operations. The e-commerce platform is helpful for our customers when searching for products they want to buy. They can look up items using part numbers or product descriptions, which helps them find exactly what they want. We rely on the search functionality a lot."
"The product is really good. It is a robust tool that can scale up in any business, including some multi-million businesses."
"The most valuable features are all the promotion capabilities and the tiered-pricing capabilities."
"The tool's most valuable features are its integration with various scanners, OCR capability, and ability to populate the system with a lot of information. We use the workload automation feature occasionally."
"The merchandising part is where the business user adds and configures permissions, which is quite important for us."
"The features that help us to change the product and pricing are good. They give us enough flexibility to manage this application."
"Sales Cloud's reporting and analytics capabilities influenced our sales strategy quite a lot. We can build every report as a dashboard, and there are various sorts of things."
"Salesforce helps up keep track of candidates."
"The most valuable features are performance and integration."
"The most valuable features are the reporting and the custom codes."
"It is nice to have the install base information at your fingertips when you look up a company."
"Salesforce Sales Cloud has positively impacted my organization as the old excuse where a lot of people used to prefer working in Excel has been eliminated; nowadays, we have a system that's built around our business needs, which helps us optimize processes, make processes much shorter, and give us insights into sales cycles and how to improve them."
"I have found Salesforce Sales Cloud to be stable."
"The reporting features are useful."

Cons

"The UI might not be the fanciest, and since it's an older system, our customers are sometimes hesitant to invest in it. They're even considering moving to new e-commerce solutions, maybe even something custom-built in-house."
"There should be some sort of native integration. All the integrations that we build are completely customized. There should also be a mechanism for user surveys and product reviews. As of now, I don't see any feature related to these. It must have a provision for doing customer surveys and allowing customers to give product feedback. If I have a customer who purchased something on the website, there has to be a mechanism for a company to capture the feedback. This feature is currently not there. Similarly, if a customer wants to do a review of the product, there is no native feature for that."
"Oracle has a cloud solution, but some on-prem features are not available in the cloud version."
"So far, with Oracle ATG, I haven't seen any good cloud-based solutions."
"One drawback is that the tool could be more agile in adding new features. Since the product is very big, new features aren't added continuously. However, it already meets most of our requirements for day-to-day use."
"The only issue with the tool is that it is not cloud-based."
"The product is not stable when enhancements are done to the cloud."
"Salesforce must build some connectors and features to make integrations easier."
"The areas revolving around archiving and backup in Salesforce Sales Cloud are not as advanced as some of the other solutions in the market."
"The solution can be difficult to understand for customers of Salesforce."
"Salesforce Sales Cloud can be improved in several areas. First, the UI is an area for enhancement. Even though they've launched Lightning, it's clunky at times with page load speeds."
"The performance is sometimes slow. There is too much information and this makes it difficult to find the answers we are looking for."
"There are also certain restrictions on the reports in terms of the number of records. Ideally, that should be removed."
"The cost of this solution could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle ATG is an expensive solution."
"The product's pricing is moderate. We use a license module."
"The tool's licensing is costly. Finding the right talent to manage it is also a challenge."
"Salesforce Sales Cloud is an expensive solution."
"The main thing is it is costly. Salesforce it is not cheap, it's costly. Some of our customers say it is a costly solution. So, we have lost some sale opportunities regarding the high price. This is the main thing that we are facing. It is sales per user and the user price is about $150 per month, per user for the Enterprise Edition. The other edition is less than this, but it is costly. A company that has 70 or 80 users would pay more than $8,000 USD yearly because it is cloud based."
"Pricing is reasonable."
"The price of the product is very high. I rate the product price a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one means low price, and ten means expensive."
"There is a license required to use this solution and the price is expensive. It could be reduced."
"We have a yearly license, and there are no hidden costs. Considering the Indian market, the pricing is reasonable. I don't consider it to be on the high side."
"You need to pay for the license per user per month. For example, you need to pay $100 per user. If you have 200 users using your Salesforce, that would be multiplied by a hundred, that's $20,000 per month and a quarter million per year."
"My understanding is that Salesforce is a little bit expensive, but in terms of the efficiencies, automation, and visibility, I think it's definitely value for money."
