Integrates with different scanners and helps to scan customer documents
One drawback is that the tool could be more agile in adding new features. Since the product is very big, new features aren't added continuously. However, it already meets most of our requirements for day-to-day use. A feature that could be improved is the ease of integrating various systems. We currently use it as a standalone solution and integrate it with other systems. A better way to integrate with newer systems, especially mobile apps, could exist. I think the compression technology could be improved even more, and it would be helpful if the software could integrate directly with certain applications.

Uses data-driven insights to improve workflows and highlights a need for simpler automation tools
Salesforce Sales Cloud can be improved in several areas. First, the UI is an area for enhancement. Even though they've launched Lightning, it's clunky at times with page load speeds. It also needs to be made extremely more user-friendly. For new people using Salesforce Sales Cloud, there is a steep learning curve. Additionally, giving non-admins the ability to make changes on the fly is something that I feel is necessary. Currently with Salesforce Sales Cloud, you need to have a consultant. It's hard to build the flows or workflows. Making it easier for that end-user who's not so technically minded to help themselves is essential. I choose seven out of ten because I think you need a consultant or a consulting company to help you build it out. Certain changes should be made much easier and more user-friendly where an admin can do it. The automation processes need to be much simpler. If you're looking at other tools out there, for example SalesLoft or HubSpot, it's much easier to build those workflows and do automation.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The merchandising part is where the business user adds and configures permissions, which is quite important for us."
"The best thing with Oracle Commerce is the personalization engine, and then the integration with one of the best search engines, which is Endeca."
"Oracle ATG Commerce is the leading enterprise eCommerce solution with around 50% of Fortune 100 companies using it."
"The product is really good. It is a robust tool that can scale up in any business, including some multi-million businesses."
"Merchandising and promotion features are very good."
"The most valuable features are all the promotion capabilities and the tiered-pricing capabilities."
"The features that help us to change the product and pricing are good; they give us enough flexibility to manage this application."
"The features that help us to change the product and pricing are good. They give us enough flexibility to manage this application."
"The most valuable features of Salesforce Sales Cloud are ease of use. It is very simple for the sales team to use. You can integrate it with a lot of other systems."
"Salesforce Sales Cloud is very user-friendly, and simple to create dashboards and extract the reports. Additionally, it integrates well with other applications."
"It is a very stable solution."
"The most beneficial aspect of Salesforce Sales Cloud is my development life cycle will have been shortened."
"The user interface is pretty simple."
"The ability to customize many things, from the UI to the business logic, and the fact that the solution uses a cloud platform were valuable features for our organization."
"Salesforce Sales Cloud has positively impacted my organization as the old excuse where a lot of people used to prefer working in Excel has been eliminated, and nowadays we have a system that's built around our business needs, which helps us optimize processes, make processes much shorter, and give us insights into sales cycles and how to improve them."
"Salesforce's user interface is easy to use, and the reporting is good. It worked well with Excel, so I was okay with it. I don't know about integration with any other software because I didn't have to deal with them."

Cons

"There should be some sort of native integration. All the integrations that we build are completely customized. There should also be a mechanism for user surveys and product reviews. As of now, I don't see any feature related to these. It must have a provision for doing customer surveys and allowing customers to give product feedback. If I have a customer who purchased something on the website, there has to be a mechanism for a company to capture the feedback. This feature is currently not there. Similarly, if a customer wants to do a review of the product, there is no native feature for that."
"In order to scale, you need more hardware, so the product itself is not scalable."
"So far, with Oracle ATG, I haven't seen any good cloud-based solutions."
"Oracle has a cloud solution, but some on-prem features are not available in the cloud version."
"One drawback is that the tool could be more agile in adding new features. Since the product is very big, new features aren't added continuously. However, it already meets most of our requirements for day-to-day use."
"Its licensing cost could be brought down."
"The only issue with the tool is that it is not cloud-based."
"Our impressions from testing out ATG is that it requires a lot of customization and professional services, which is not what we were looking for."
"When importing from other apps, it gets messy."
"I need to do a lot of customization to implement an ERP solution for an energy and utilities client versus a BFS client. Salesforce should look at the common customizations each client wants and see how much of that can be standardized into industry-specific specific solutions. That would speed up implementation, so we don't need to go through the same steps a hundred times. Salesforce could do it once and put it out for the rest of the clients to use it."
"We prefer using local solutions like RD Station in Brazil due to pricing considerations."
"The licensing price could be cheaper."
"Backend database is not compatible with all SQL standards."
"I would like to see licensing fees reduced in the next release."
"My age-old complaint with Salesforce Sales Cloud is that it has to be refreshed because it's a cloud-based system. If you make any updates, you have to refresh and save because you're fundamentally looking at what's running in the cloud. It can be slow since you constantly refresh and save the screen. If you were running a local application, like a local CRM system, as you input anything, it would be more seamless."
"The monitoring is very good, but it could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product's pricing is moderate. We use a license module."
"The tool's licensing is costly. Finding the right talent to manage it is also a challenge."
"Oracle ATG is an expensive solution."
"Being license based, the license varies by type. The pricing is considered average."
"I've seen the prices for Salesforce Sales Cloud, but I haven't been the one to handle the money. As someone who's only visually looked at the price, I would imagine it's on the pricier side, but they do have a ton of leverage, and seeing that everyone I've worked for has always been dedicated to continuing Salesforce. I've never worked for anyone who has threatened to leave. Everyone has accepted the pricing for what they offer."
"The overall price of Salesforce Sales Cloud could be better, it is more expensive than other competitors. There is an annual license for Salesforce Sales Cloud."
"It's expensive, storage being the most costly aspect."
"We pay a yearly subscription fee."
"Sales Cloud is expensive."
"The price of the product is very high. I rate the product price a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one means low price, and ten means expensive."
"Its license is expensive. It is probably a lot more than smaller solutions. It is around £500 a month, but I don't know how many licenses we have."
