Useful for B2B retail operations and order management but UI is bland and old
The UI might not be the fanciest, and since it's an older system, our customers are sometimes hesitant to invest in it. They're even considering moving to new e-commerce solutions, maybe even something custom-built in-house. It's quite basic and bland compared to today's modern web developments, which have enhanced user experiences. We're just providing support services to our customers, and they’ve been exploring a move to Oracle Commerce. However, there's some concern about Oracle Commerce's future, especially since support for version 11.3.2 is set to end in March 2025. We haven’t heard back from Oracle regarding any plans to extend support. We’re just keeping the lights on for now, but a transformation might be on the horizon. We have done some proof of concept with Oracle Commerce.

Uses data-driven insights to improve workflows and highlights a need for simpler automation tools
Salesforce Sales Cloud can be improved in several areas. First, the UI is an area for enhancement. Even though they've launched Lightning, it's clunky at times with page load speeds. It also needs to be made extremely more user-friendly. For new people using Salesforce Sales Cloud, there is a steep learning curve. Additionally, giving non-admins the ability to make changes on the fly is something that I feel is necessary. Currently with Salesforce Sales Cloud, you need to have a consultant. It's hard to build the flows or workflows. Making it easier for that end-user who's not so technically minded to help themselves is essential. I choose seven out of ten because I think you need a consultant or a consulting company to help you build it out. Certain changes should be made much easier and more user-friendly where an admin can do it. The automation processes need to be much simpler. If you're looking at other tools out there, for example SalesLoft or HubSpot, it's much easier to build those workflows and do automation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The features that help us to change the product and pricing are good. They give us enough flexibility to manage this application."
"The features that help us to change the product and pricing are good; they give us enough flexibility to manage this application."
"The tool's most valuable features are its integration with various scanners, OCR capability, and ability to populate the system with a lot of information. We use the workload automation feature occasionally."
"The most valuable features are all the promotion capabilities and the tiered-pricing capabilities."
"The merchandising part is where the business user adds and configures permissions, which is quite important for us."
"Merchandising and promotion features are very good."
"The best thing with Oracle Commerce is the personalization engine, and then the integration with one of the best search engines, which is Endeca."
"Oracle ATG Commerce is the leading enterprise eCommerce solution with around 50% of Fortune 100 companies using it."
"I like that Salesforce is ERP agnostic. In the past and at different companies, I have implemented new or replacement ERPs. It's best in class. I like that it's a SaaS. I like that it can work on any device—any Windows, Android, or Apple device."
"Salesforce runs smoothly."
"So far, everything has been good."
"It gives us great visibility into tracking opportunities and interactions with customers through email and phone conversations."
"It is nice to have the install base information at your fingertips when you look up a company."
"The product is very fast and responsive. There's no lag time when you are on the platform."
"It is a very good tool. There are a lot of interesting features. It is one of the best solutions."
"The tool is a feature-rich platform. It is cloud-based means it's accessible to multiple people in the organization simultaneously. It's a collaborative CRM system where updates are visible to everyone. You can use it lightly with basic notes or extensively with lots of information. It supports multimedia, allowing you to upload video and audio clips. Overall, it's a feature-rich platform, and I don't have one specific feature that stands out; it's just very functional and rich."

Cons

"Its licensing cost could be brought down."
"There should also be a mechanism for user surveys and product reviews."
"Oracle has a cloud solution, but some on-prem features are not available in the cloud version."
"One drawback is that the tool could be more agile in adding new features. Since the product is very big, new features aren't added continuously. However, it already meets most of our requirements for day-to-day use."
"The UI might not be the fanciest, and since it's an older system, our customers are sometimes hesitant to invest in it. They're even considering moving to new e-commerce solutions, maybe even something custom-built in-house."
"In order to scale, you need more hardware, so the product itself is not scalable."
"So far, with Oracle ATG, I haven't seen any good cloud-based solutions."
"Our impressions from testing out ATG is that it requires a lot of customization and professional services, which is not what we were looking for."
"The performance is sometimes slow. There is too much information and this makes it difficult to find the answers we are looking for."
"No free SQL like Query Analytics tool (you are limitied to a certain amount of tables you can include in a query/report)"
"The developer console might be enhanced."
"The solution's customer support is not so good."
"The tool's technical challenges vary depending on the requirements. When a new requirement arises, we must analyze the best approach to address it, whether through automation tools or coding. We encounter limitations such as the number of reports we can process or update, the queries we can write, and other similar constraints. Understanding when to utilize coding and when to rely on simple configurations is crucial."
"Sales Cloud is expensive."
"Some areas of functionality from early versions of Salesforce are getting a little dated and in need of overhaul."
"I think the user experience could be improved. I would like the user interface to be a bit more user-friendly and modern."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's licensing is costly. Finding the right talent to manage it is also a challenge."
"The product's pricing is moderate. We use a license module."
"Oracle ATG is an expensive solution."
"Sales Cloud is expensive."
"The main issue is the price. Because it's SaaS, you will have to pay on a monthly or yearly basis."
"I've seen the prices for Salesforce Sales Cloud, but I haven't been the one to handle the money. As someone who's only visually looked at the price, I would imagine it's on the pricier side, but they do have a ton of leverage, and seeing that everyone I've worked for has always been dedicated to continuing Salesforce. I've never worked for anyone who has threatened to leave. Everyone has accepted the pricing for what they offer."
"We have a yearly license, and there are no hidden costs. Considering the Indian market, the pricing is reasonable. I don't consider it to be on the high side."
"Implementation and add-ons may be additional costs."
"You need to pay for the license per user per month. For example, you need to pay $100 per user. If you have 200 users using your Salesforce, that would be multiplied by a hundred, that's $20,000 per month and a quarter million per year."
"The overall price of Salesforce Sales Cloud could be better, it is more expensive than other competitors. There is an annual license for Salesforce Sales Cloud."
"It is alright for now because we ended up getting a discount off the base price. So, for now, it is okay. We may have to renegotiate when we get more users, and I don't know if the price would stay the same or increase. It has just a standard licensing fee. If you end up hiring a consultant for implementation, you will have to pay for the implementation. Other than that, there are no additional fees."
