A stable and scalable hybrid solution with easy setup
The solution is scalable. It has three levels. You have the presentation area that can be escalated to the balance sheet. You have the back-end area that can be escalated using higher viability to configure more application servers. Also, the area of storage can be increased. We usually cater to enterprise solutions but have small- and medium-sized customers. It starts with 25 users and goes up to 100s and 1000s.

Threat detection is effective, and the solution provides good control over device access, but it still needs better troubleshooting options for agent-related issues.
From an improvement perspective, I am looking for a way to troubleshoot situations where the endpoint agent becomes corrupted and requires reinstallation, as there is currently no option to resolve these issues without rebooting the system. I give it a rating of seven because, in today’s scenario, the portal is complicated to navigate. The Trellix Endpoint Security Platform dashboard is somewhat difficult to understand, and it takes considerable time to familiarize oneself with the tools and policies compared to other solutions. For on-premises deployment, I would also like to highlight that the architecture is quite complex, which is an area Trellix Endpoint Security Platform should consider improving.

Pros

"The most important feature we've found is the Enscripts. That is one powerful feature that I, personally, love to use."
"Data Recovery: Its ability to repair damaged partitions and uncover hidden partitions from within the tool, and allow further analysis."
"The solution is very stable."
"I like the processing feature on the product because it does everything at once, i.e, indexing, recovery, keyword searches, etc."
"It indexes much faster, and is more reflexive because of the Enscripts."
"The technical support is excellent."
"The independent modules are very good."
"The extendability is great."
"McAfee MVISION Endpoint is stable."
"It provides a robust defense against cybersecurity threats while offering user-friendly features like notifications and approval prompts."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable feature is the integration between environments."
"The reporting capabilities are a valuable feature. In enables more visibility on our network."
"The EPO, the ePolicy Orchestrator, is the best endpoint protection central management system."

Cons

"I would like to see a capability to ingest and absorb more data. That would be really good. It currently is lacking this function."
"The reporting is a bit unreliable. It needs to be better."
"There were minor UI bugs."
"In the past, incident response time for tech support was slow."
"We have come across problems with the end-case. We could not find an email discovery type of module and there was not flexibility with the email."
"Sometimes the application can take more time to complete the image processing or fail at the end of the process."
"Ease of use and learning curve need improvement."
"The Linux support is very poor. I use base detection. Currently, they are providing malware protection and logon track features in Windows and Mac. These features aren't available in Linux. It will be helpful to extend these capabilities to Linux. We would also like assets grouping and device lock protection features, which are included in their roadmap."
"They could provide better integration capabilities for the product with other services."
"It has very good integrations. However, its integration with Palo Alto was not good, and they seem to be working on it at the backend. It is not very resource-hungry, but it can be even better in terms of resource utilization. It could be improved in terms of efficiency, memory sizing, and disk consumption by agents."
"The interface is complex."
"I think it would be nice if Dynamic Application Control would come together with McAfee Endpoint Security."
"There are certain shortcomings in the features concerning DLP in Trellix, where certain additions must be made in the future."
"It is a bit technical. The user interface has some significant limitations, mainly when using HIPS on the server side, to protect files from being changed or deleted by hackers, users, or administrators."
"MVISION Endpoint is only compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 2016 and above. If I were using a Linux operating system, I would not be able to use MVISION Endpoint."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"EnCase is an affordable solution."
"We have a license. And, we found the cost high. We contacted them and talked to them about the ratio of the US dollar versus the Indian rupee and then we came to a solution."
"We have a license. And, we found the cost high. We contacted them and talked to them about the ratio of the US dollar versus the Indian rupee and then we came to a solution."
"The product is affordable and user-friendly."
"We pay 650 Rand for a license. It is a perpetual license which we normally run for two years."
"Since the maintenance is done by our own team, the price of the subscription should really be cheaper."
"The solution is not an expensive tool. Compared to other options, it's mostly average-priced. I've deployed it for customers ranging from 100 nodes to over 5,000 nodes. Its renewal prices are very low, and it offers both perpetual and subscription licenses. With a perpetual license, the product will keep working as long as it's not end-of-life, which benefits companies."
"The price of the solution is fair, we have a complete security package."
"It is a yearly subscription-based product, which includes the license and hardware. There is also a subscription for technical support up to five years."
"The pricing is great and licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis."
"It's fairly priced compared to other products on the market."
"It is not that expensive. There is no additional cost. We got the entire bundle together."
