Easy to work and offers features for tape backups, disk backups, and whatever you want
NovaStor NovaBACKUP is still working on new features because they listen to the customers and integrate their needs into new versions. You can see they make progress with each new version. They are much faster than IBM, where you sometimes have to wait years for new features. It is very quick and fast. NovaStor have big competitors like Veeam, which is very fast and aggressive. It's good, but it depends on the price. I think NovaStor might be cheaper. They have a direct connection to their developers and sales teams, which makes getting answers very fast. Veeam has a lot of features, like a special reporting tool. However, I've heard from some customers that Veeam wasn't always the right decision because it couldn't work with their environment. But Veeam has aggressive marketing, which is why they are probably in first place at the moment, besides Commvault. IBM has lost its competitive edge and is trying to catch up, but it might be too late.

Pros

"It is a very good and easy-to-use tool for non-technical people."
"It's the easiest way to configure it."
"The platform has a useful disaster recovery feature."
"The most valuable aspect is its reliability in recovering any replaceable data in the event of server issues in a production environment."
"Veeam Backup & Replication is a scalable solution."
"Veeam Backup & Replication is a great alternative to what is out there. Some of the backups just allow an agent backup to the cloud. You can back up a thousand different ways, but this is a great way to keep a customer and a company in compliance in that they've got their data secure onsite and offsite. The data being transferred to the NAS at the customer's location and also the data being sent to the cloud is encrypted in transit and it's also encrypted at rest so that nobody is going to be able to hack into that. No one will have the keys to do that."
"The solution's interface, GUI (graphical user interface), and backup are good."
"The documentation is very good. It's also easy to install Veeam Backup and Replication."
"The tool is a stable backup solution."
"The solution is stable."

Cons

"The price of NovaStor NovaBACKUP is an area that can be considered as a weakness or drawback, where improvements are required."
"The room for improvement lies in the compatibility of NovaBACKUP with older operating systems."
"Veeam ONE should improve its UI."
"The automation could be better."
"It is not easy to navigate, especially with the numerous reports available."
"They need to improve their technical side."
"The product’s stability has certain issues and needs to be improved. The solution’s pricing could be also cheaper."
"I would like a solution for SAP systems to be included."
"The scalability of the product in large organizations is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The initial setup can get complex."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"My company has to make yearly payments towards the solution's maintenance and support."
"The solution is expensive, but it's value for money."
"The solution provides flexible licensing options."
"The price is a bit high."
"Since pricing is per socket, it is not expensive to add capacity as you go along."
"The solution is fairly priced. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"I consider that the product's price falls under the middle range category."
"They have a free edition that can back up up to 10 VMs or physical servers. Small and medium businesses can use this edition until they can afford to get a license, and after they get a license, they just activate it on the same console. That's the amazing thing about it."
"The product is expensive."
