Integration tools streamline financial operations and enhance data management
The most beneficial feature in Workato is its accessibility. The interface is easily understandable even for a common user, unlike the NetSuite ERP direct website which requires more technical knowledge. In Workato, NetSuite ERP provides options for new employee records, invoice reports, and batch files processing. The batch processing capability allows handling up to 10,000 records simultaneously, which reduces tasks and processing time significantly. Regarding scalability, NetSuite ERP offers excellent options and reduces manual interventions through automation. In the past three months, I have observed improvements in their options and data storage capabilities, showing enhanced scalability compared to previous versions.

Solution for quoting customers, but could be faster
We use this solution internally mostly for quoting for customers. There are over 10,000 employees in my organization.  There are other modules that we use to do everything, like SteelBrick, but the UI is clunky. It could be the way the solution was implemented. The solution is a little bit slow…

Subscription billing has transformed contract management and now automates complex workflows
There is not much change required in the product itself, but I feel some of the documentation for developers needs improvement. Not everything that is being developed in Zuora is available in the documentation. Clear documentation is needed that explains what will happen if you go one route versus another. Comparing to the last two years, Zuora is very well designed now and well updated. On each release, they are bringing something new which is very helpful. Currently, 80% to 85% of everything is working well for me. The remaining 15% relates to new features that were released recently, for which we do not have hands-on experience. If we had that hands-on training, we could understand how these features will be useful. The documentation that has been provided exists, but it is not particularly useful. They simply simplify the documentation to say this is the step where you have to go and configure, but we need to understand the use of it, when we would use those configurations, and when we would develop with them.

Pros

"NetSuite is a better value than some competing solutions. The fee structure is simpler, and other ERP solutions don't offer as many options for configuration."
"We use it for the projects we do in the telecom industry."
"I recommend this product to professional services companies and those with complex international financial requirements. NetSuite ERP has strong capabilities in the finance domain that other ERPs may lack."
"The initial setup is easy."
"I would say that the solution is highly configurable."
"NetSuite ERP is a user-friendly cloud-based solution that posts into the GL in real time. You can see your profitability at the order level."
"I am impressed with the product's ease of use. It also helps us reduce the techstack."
"NetSuite's architecture is so phenomenal that you can almost not even imagine."
"The stability is pretty solid."
"The stability is pretty solid."
"Zuora has positively impacted my organization as it is primarily used for financial records, including billings and other business needs for the business team."
"Zuora Workflow is valuable."
"These features are valuable because it has allowed the billing functionality to be fully operationalized. This allows us to refocus our energy on optimizing our recurring revenue streams outside of just basic billing."
"The tool's most valuable aspect is its evolution. When I first worked on it, it was a simple platform that handled accounts and basic invoicing. Over the years, I've seen many changes that have enabled it to support complex projects. The help desk now provides solutions for these projects, which wasn't initially possible. The most important thing about Zuora is its ability to handle complexity through workflows, essentially automating the invoicing process."
"Zuora is perfect for managing customer accounts, payments, and billing, as everything happens on time and their customer support is good, so I would definitely recommend Zuora."
"We have so many options for reporting, whether you want structured data or automation."
"Zuora supports multiple pricing models. There are one-time usages, flat fees, per unit, tiered, and consumption-based models."
"It has made billing a reliable business function and provided the structure needed to optimize all of our billing processes."

Cons

"The system is quite slow overall; sometimes I wait thirty, forty, or fifty seconds for a screen to refresh."
"The solution is not good in a production company."
"As with any system offering large volumes of data, there are limitations on processing large volumes of data in custom ways."
"Some of the features around the payroll and payroll taxes and management of that are lacking. We had to outsource some of that because we found that the functionality isn't there."
"The custom reports could be improved."
"NetSuite is still made for small/medium enterprises and needs to focus on bigger organizations, i.e., the Enterprise Edition."
"I would like to see improvement around the Revenue Recognition module. Right now, several templates are there, but they are either too complicated, or they are difficult to configure, from a company finance perspective."
"The solution is not user-friendly and it is complex to use."
"The solution is a little bit slow sometimes."
"The solution is a little bit slow sometimes."
"While fetching the data, I had faced some issues."
"Unlike Zoho, the main page doesn't contain everything. You have to click a button to reveal multiple options; even within those, there are further layers of options to navigate through."
"Very rarely, maybe once every two months, the platform might be slow for a day or two. We usually receive notifications about these issues, which seem to stem from connectivity errors or similar issues."
"I would build dynamic retry functionalities directly into the core product and enhance their integrations with all payment gateways."
"There are a few areas for improvement. Some APIs aren't working in amendment-based subscriptions."
"We feel the deployment and version comparison process could be easier when switching between different systems."
"The data structure within Zuora is a bit rigid. It doesn't support many things, like subqueries or correlation queries and all that."
"It would be beneficial to have an improved dashboard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive."
"Regarding costs, it's not just about licensing. Customization recurring costs can become expensive over five to eight years, especially with new releases. However, NetSuite ERP integrates well with third-party applications, so it can still be used for finance while another ERP is used for localized production."
"I would advise that you first meet with and scope out your project with a NetSuite VAR (Value Added Reseller)."
"There is an annual license required to use this solution."
"When people buy ERP, it's a competitive situation and the pricing is paramount."
"The price of the solution is quite high."
"Pricing for NetSuite ERP is okay, but it could be better. The licensing model for NetSuite ERP is based on the number of modules and users. The standard license covers up to twenty-five users. If you have more than twenty-five users, you'll have to buy the premium license, which would double the price. For one module with five user licenses, the cost is between $40,000 to $50,000."
"It's very competitively priced due to it being a subscription model. So, clients are quite happy with the pricing. I would rate it an eight out of ten in terms of pricing."
Information not available
"The solution is worth the price."
"Negotiate aggressively. Continue to push on cost until you feel comfortable."
"Explore multiple options for implementation."
"The tiered pricing model is costly."
