Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The pricing of the solution is quite good.""The ability to script information from websites is most valuable. It also seems to be fairly robust and reasonably easy to manage on a server-based deployment. We have a number of robots operating on the central server.""The OCR was quite stable and flexible.""The flexibility to use already-developed components is really good. You can use it for Excel-related operations and other things.""Provides valuable tools working in integration with RPA tools.""It is stable and scalable.""This is a stable platform and we did not encounter any big problems."

More Kofax RPA Pros →

"The solution offers very good documentation and manuals to assist with understanding the solution.""In my opinion, SAP PO is the most mature suite of tools to integrate processes across SAP environments at this moment. It's really unbeatable because it allows you to integrate whatever scenarios you can imagine.""The initial setup was straightforward.""With the latest version what I find to be the most valuable are the REST, SuccessFactors, and Ariba Network adapters.""The solution is easy to use.""The initial setup is easy.""SAP Process Orchestration is middleware where we are able to manage and interact with everything from a single location. One of the most beneficial areas is monitoring which is very easy because it is all in one place. There are many adapters added recently that can be used for new functionality. The solution is easy to operate and it is more mature than the cloud solution provided by SAP.""The product has good technical support but you usually will not need it because it is quite stable."

Cons
"It needs a free training portal for anybody on the internet to use so that they can get an idea of what the possibilities are.""We are on version 10.6, and the current version seems to be 11. Kofax is cycling the capabilities of the product very quickly. One of the difficulties has been to actually keep up with the capabilities as they've evolved. On the one hand, it is good that the product is getting better, but on the other hand, it is difficult to implement the best way with a product that is evolving constantly.""The product needs more AI capabilities.""The solution could use some AI integrated features.""There is really nothing special about the capabilities of this product.""Its documentation is not widely available on the web. They should work on the availability of its documentation. In Automation Anywhere, there is a feature called Discovery Bot that automatically records the process steps and suggests a possible bot. I am not sure if such a feature is available in Kofax. If it is not available, it will be very good to have this feature. ""I would like to see them further enhance the OCR, specifically in the multi-language support.""The process discovery could be a bit better."

More Kofax RPA Cons →

"The solution could be more scalable.""The older version of the solution will no longer be supported.""I think the main area that SAP PO should improve on is offering pre-delivered content like they do when you use SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI). SAP should not forget that they still have a lot of customers using Process Orchestration and they should focus more on providing pre-delivered content in SAP PO.""In terms of technical support, it would be helpful if they handled the tickets a bit faster when queries are sent to them.""I feel that support is an area that needs improvement. They need to improve the response time and address the customer's issues as soon as possible.""The usability is an area where it can be improved upon.""The solution could improve by making it more user-friendly by limiting the code required. We have to add some code in some cases where we need complex logic or some other functions. If this was able to be done in a more simplified manner then it would save a lot of effort and time.""The monitoring governance offered by SAP is too technical and needs to be geared more toward business users."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Price is not a problem, because they are a competitor and we have a special rate."
  • "I don't have complete insight at this point in time, but I would guess that Kofax is a lot less expensive than Automation Anywhere. I would expect its license to be on a yearly basis."
  • "Its pricing is reasonable given the product capabilities. Kofax has a wide range of products, and it can sometimes be confusing to understand which capabilities come with which product set. One of the key facets that we've been looking into recently is cognitive document recognition that was a core pile of some of their other technologies such as Kofax transformation modules (KTM)."

  • "The cost of SAP products is quite high but the quality is really good."
  • "The pricing for this solution is fine."
  • "There are fees in addition to the licensing."
  • "It's not an expensive solution."
  • "Looking at market conditions, vendors nowadays are giving products at very low price levels. However, SAP Process Orchestration have not yet reduced their prices. The prices could be reduced a lot to stay competitive."
  • "The license is a one-time payment, and additional costs are only incurred on the infrastructure side since it's an on-premise solution."

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies. SAP PI is based on general standards so as to enable 3rd-party systems to be integrated. At the center of SAP PI is an XML-based communication that uses HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). Irrespective of the scenario used, the application-specific contents are transferred in messages in user-defined XML eXtensible Markup Language) from the sender to the receiver either via the Integration Server, or directly between the systems involved. SAP PI can be installed in different ways: Dual usage type installation: Based on both AS ABAP and AS Java. and Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX): Based on AS Java only.
