Find out what your peers are saying about Veeam Software, Zerto, Commvault and others in Backup and Recovery."The solution is scalable and can be fitted for any customer."
"A full-featured data protection solution that is reliable and stable."
"If the system were to go down, we needed to make sure that the system could be recovered and available as soon as possible. Spectrum Protect provides you access to directly bind the backup volume to the server and make the system available instead of restoring it and copying the system."
"What I like about IBM Spectrum Protect Plus is its integration, plus it has very good technical support."
"Some of the features we find very valuable and use a lot, are retention sets."
"This is a multi-platform backup solution where you can take a backup from AIX, Windows, or Linux servers and restore from CD, disk, or tape."
"The most valuable feature is how we can easily power speed up the VM even though the VM resides in remote storage."
"The most valuable feature of IBM Spectrum Protect Plus is the deduplication functionality. The clients moved to this solution originally because of this feature."
"Veeam helps to create a stable environment with virtual servers."
"The most valuable features are backup and restore. This solution is also easy to use."
"We found the initial setup to be quite simple."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It was very easy. Deployment only took about one hour with configuration and everything considered."
"Solution provides good security."
"The initial setup, if it is error-free, is very simple."
"The initial setup is very straightforward."
"Technical support is good."
"I think the graphical reports are a shortcoming of the tool since it fails to provide my company with what we want in terms of reporting. Due to the product's inability to take care of its reporting part, we have to use third-party software."
"I would like integration into where the VMware guys can do their own restores."
"Instead of using the command prompt for troubleshooting and administering the backup, there should be an easy-to-use graphical user interface."
"Not particularly user friendly."
"An area that needs improvement is data validation. We currently use another product that gives us immediate validation, information about when the last backup was, and no risk of corruption happening. TSM in IBM Spectrum is not mature so that you can validate on the spot."
"It still needs to grow and add new features. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, I believe, requires time to become competitive due to a weakness in the other software products."
"The software's technical support could improve its response time for different time zones."
"The solution should allow for backup of iOS snapshots."
"I can't think of anything that may be missing."
"The compression ratio and application ratio could still be improved in this solution. Reporting could also be improved, for better monitoring."
"A lower price would always be beneficial."
"A feature I would like to see is universal restore. At the moment, restoration can only be smooth on the same hardware. Let's say you have a server and you back it up with Veeam Agent, in case it fails or crashes. If you later buy a new server because the same one isn't available on the market anymore, there's a high chance that Windows will not boot up if you restore from the Veeam backup because the hardware is now different. Acronis has the universal restore feature, so it will work with generic drivers and you can restore Windows in any dissimilar hardware. As far as I know, Veeam doesn't have this feature yet."
"If you are doing an AIX backup then you have to use the CLI because it doesn't appear on the console, the way that Windows and Linux jobs do."
"I would like there to be more integration with other platforms."
"I would like to have a more automated installation process."
"There are not many options available for AIX backup. They provide the agent for AIX, but it could be more mature."
