Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Remote enablement feature and access to internal resources on the VPN.""The ability to send an iPad out to someone and have them auto-provision it when they are out in the field is fantastic. We don't have to have it all configured before we ship it. This is probably the biggest value add.""Using this solution has made things more convenient. Earlier, we had to depend a lot more on IT to find and resolve our issues.""Maas360 uses distribution groups to deploy apps, which makes it a bit easier than, for example, Intune.""The solution is quite stable.""We've found the scalability to be very good.""All features that we have deployed are useful. We do access office emails on our smartphones, and we have complete sync with Active Directory. Our calendar also gets synced in the MaaS360 application. We also ensure that the data from these official applications is not being misused by any of the employees. We have disabled cut, copy, paste, and all such features. It ensures that all the official data that our employees have on their smartphones is secure. Security is the paramount feature that we value in this product.""The solution is easy to implement."

"The most valuable features of VMware Workspace ONE are security and having support for all the latest features that are coming out from Apple. They're pretty fast at adopting new features. This is one of the most vital aspects of mobile device management systems.""The most valuable feature is policy-driven control of the devices.""The most valuable feature of the solution is that it enables us to remotely manage the devices, which is its purpose, and to push applications to the mobile devices from the portal.""It's a tool that can be managed in various departments.""The remote management and location capabilities are good.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the tracking of the devices.""The Identity component of this solution is its most valuable feature.""You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed."

Cons
"The user experience really isn't so good.""We opted to go with Microsoft Intune because it just seemed to be a more mature and comprehensive enterprise solution, whereas IBM MaaS360 didn't seem to have the necessary breadth to manage all of our equipment. Along with laptops, I've had some BYODs. IBM MaaS360 just didn't seem as mature in our assessment.""The solution needs to offer live technical support. Right now, it's just a chat window and it's rather unhelpful.""Local technical support would be helpful.""Zero day support is something they can work on. They can make it a little bit more user-friendly.""The user interface could definitely use some improvement.""The look needs to be updated and it could be simpler to use.""User interface is basic and not very intuitive."

More IBM MaaS360 Cons →

"From an identity perspective, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to integration with other solutions. I would say it needs more capabilities in terms of direct integrations, including cloud identity solution integrations.""Technical support needs to be more responsive to our requests.""The SaaS environment is not very responsive at times, so the performance can be improved in that regard.""It's not accurate enough when it comes to sending items to end-users.""I would like to see some integration with native Microsoft products such as Anti-value.""There are other solutions that might be better for certain use cases. This is not an all-purpose solution.""The reverse proxy is not intuitive and it takes time to get it right, so this is something that can be improved.""I would like to see improvements made to both the support, and the pricing."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Fees are monthly and it's approximately $8 per user."
  • "Price is something for which we are always under pressure. If we have to look at the MaaS deployment, the price definitely has to come down. This is clearly one of the areas that we will have to work on, not only as a provider to our customers but also as a consumer of this service."
  • "I feel the pricing to be very high."
  • "MaaS360 is priced at a balance. It is not as expensive as AirWatch or Jamf and is not a cheap solution like a few of the local products."
  • More IBM MaaS360 Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
  • "The cost is a little bit high."
  • "VMware Workspace ONE is not cheap; it's quite expensive. However, in the end, they gave us a reasonable price."
  • "If you have a host of custom requirements (including licensing), make sure to set aside enough time for the initial setup because it can take up to a few weeks depending on how complex your environment is."
  • "I think that the price is reasonable."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved."
  • "Its pricing was okay for our company."
  • "It's an expensive tool."
