Smooth and fast search capabilities with customizable dashboards enhance user experience
For improvement, I have requested three enhancement tickets, which are already lodged with the Gurucul support team. The first request is to add a visualization option in reports for charts or graphs. I have also requested new dashboard features. In the query box, there's a bug where taking an attribute at the end does not return data, but placing it elsewhere does. The support system could be more equipped.

Centralized environment supports big data while facing integration challenges
The customization in Securonix Next-Gen SIEM is more difficult compared to other solutions. At the operation level, we are not facing many challenges with automating things using Securonix Next-Gen SIEM, but at the admin level, we have many challenges where log parsing is causing issues and compatibility is not present. The primary technology challenge we have is not at the security tools level. For example, firewall Cisco and others are capable. However, specific to product, for SAP, we are using certain products, and developing custom connectors for each product, especially the internal applications, is difficult, and Securonix Next-Gen SIEM is not up to the mark.

Digital guidance has reduced support tickets and has improved onboarding and change adoption
WalkMe has helped us by reducing support tickets. If we have support tickets coming through about how to do a task in a system, we can reduce the time and cost for our support staff answering these tickets by addressing the queries with WalkMe content. WalkMe has positively impacted my organization by providing step-by-step tutorials using Smart Walk-Thrus, which offer contextual help using SmartTips and launcher buttons. It has saved us a lot of hours and dollars that we would have otherwise invested into creating training, coaching sessions, and many more. It has also provided support to users in their flow of work without burdening them to remember every feature from coaching sessions. Additionally, it has saved a lot of clicks for our users using automation and Auto-Steps in our tutorials, giving them productive hours back in their day and ensuring correct data from different systems by blocking or guiding users properly in critical forms. We have been able to save a lot of hours, ranging from three to four hours. Also, a lot of costs have been reduced, from thirty percent to twenty percent. We are able to show our stakeholders excellent, truthful analytics on how users are adopting the system quickly and easily using the built-in and customized reports available. There are also automated Smart Walk-Thrus for getting the job done faster, as well as chatbots for automating processes and filling in forms to save time and cost. WalkMe is a great tool to support digital transformation efforts at my organization or any organization, as it has reduced the training and learning time for both users and creators, and can also support onboarding.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I appreciate the comprehensive categorization of devices based on their intended use, such as those for DNS."
"The most valuable feature of Gurucul is the ability to customize and it is on the Hadoop platform that has a lot of flexibility."
"If you are genuinely looking for a UEBA solution, you should choose Gurucul confidently if your need is strictly UEBA."
"The reporting feature was the key differentiator. I also liked the ability to create dynamic rules in the environment."
"The reporting feature was the key differentiator, and I also liked the ability to create dynamic rules in the environment."
"The most valuable feature of Gurucul is the ability to customize and it is on the Hadoop platform that has a lot of flexibility."
"The user interface is easy to learn and navigate."
"The most valuable feature is that it works on user behavior and event rarities."
"The scalability is one of the remarkable qualities of this product, which makes it very effective, especially when we are dealing with substantial data volumes in the cloud."
"There aren't any positive aspects of the solution. It was a complete failure. There are no redeeming features."
"The customizability of the tool is valuable. We are able to customize the use cases and create them easily without a large amount of Securonix assistance. It's very flexible. We do not have to rely on Professional Services to modify or create a new use case."
"With UEBA being a relatively new space when we looked at it close to two years ago, we were concerned about how well it worked and whether they were truly behavioral-based rules or if that was just marketing terminology for the "latest greatest system," but it exceeds what our initial expectations were for being able to detect different cyber threats."
"The product reduced our investigation times by about 85 percent."
"It is an excellent tool that helps us optimize threat-hunting operations, detect intrusive events on the network, and respond to security incidents."
"If you have a lot of steps to on-board your users and have a web product that is fairly complex to grasp, I highly recommend WalkMe."
"WalkMe takes the focus off the admin to provide training and empowers the users to click on the walk-thru's."
"In my opinion, the best features WalkMe offers are mainly the faster route of onboarding users, since the use of WalkMe reduces support tickets, it gives us user context and we get natively integrated with the software we are using and all the platforms we have."
"With Walkme installed we were able to simplify and expedite the customer on-boarding and adoption process."
"WalkMe has positively impacted my organization with better change management, quicker onboarding, and fewer support tickets sent through from users using the product."
"WalkMe has made important contributions toward our ability to offer our customers an integrated solution!"
"WalkMe gives us the ability to develop user assistance directly in our software, without redirecting users to online content or videos."
"Overall, WalkMe exceeded our expectations."

Cons

"It could be more stable. Sometimes when working in multiple customer environments, there were some issues with features."
"Gurucul can improve on the online documentation. They should educate the end users more to allow them to do everything themselves."
"Technical support is good but can improve. I would rate it six to seven out of ten. The main issue is response time, which can take three to four hours even for simple queries."
"It could be more stable."
"The support could improve. I would rate the support from Gurucul a two out of five."
"Regarding the prioritization of threats, Gurucul UEBA needs to enhance its alert severity assignment process within the system."
"Six months ago, if someone asked me about the support, I would say, "Not good.""
"The dashboards in Securonix Next-Gen SIEM need more customization and informational capabilities."
"We would like a little more face-to-face training. Securonix has several tutorials on its website, but we want there to be a person in Colombia who does training or workshops to give us a better understanding of the platform."
"As far as what can be improved, again it is the pricing."
"We would like to see better integration with other products."
"SIEM could have better integration with other technologies."
"Other than issues with the training, there have been issues with the encryption. There have also been issues with some of the reporting, minor glitches that they have fixed as they've gone along."
"Sometimes, there is instability in the data in terms of the customization of the time. I have sometimes observed discrepancies in the data, which is something they should work on. They should bring more stability to time customization. If we are seeing a particular data, when we change the time zone, there should be the same data. There should not be any discrepancy."
"The platform is quite complex for a non-technical person, so it takes a while to fly on the platform on your own without constantly bothering CSMs."
"The next thing I'm looking for from WalkMe is better analytics and reporting tools to make the data they track more actionable to allow our team to create better processes and debug the things that are not working."
"The admin tools can be a little confusing, so I understand registering for the training."
"Occasionally the system runs a little slowly, which can be frustrating to some of our fast paced end users, but that is more due to the robust number of Walk Thrus our team has created."
"WalkMe is not an inexpensive tool, so it should be implemented broadly to make the investment worthwhile."
"The time needed to get started was far beyond what the sales team described in the sales process."
"The biggest area for improvement is the onboarding and training."
"I have not kept up with WalkMe over the years between 2019 and now, so I am not quite sure how it can be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is fair. In fact, I believe it was on the cheaper side when compared to the competition."
"The price of Gurucul is competitive."
"We have a license from our 5.0, so that license just continued. We paid them the extra cloud-hosting costs for a year which were about $300,000."
"A good thing about Securonix is that they don't charge by volume of data or number of devices... They charge by the number of employees, which is a much more predictable number for me, versus data. Our costs are in the $100,000 range over a three-year subscription."
"Licensing is based on events per second (EPS), costing between $50 to $60 per EPS."
"The pricing is good, but by adding more things, the licensing becomes more complex because an EPS license fluctuates a lot. This licensing concept is going to be problematic in the long run."
"Its price is fine. We found it to be cheaper than LogRhythm, Exabeam, Splunk, as well as Elastic Security. A few months ago, when we were comparing Securonix with Elastic Security, we found Securonix to be cheaper than Elasticsearch. We were pretty surprised that Elastic Security is more expensive than Securonix because Elasticsearch is just starting, and it cannot compete with Securonix at this time. So, the pricing of Securonix is pretty good for now."
"I had heard that it was much cheaper than Splunk and some of the other tools, and they gave us a nice package with support. They accommodated the number of users and support very well."
"The solution's price is double the competitors."
"Its pricing is quite similar to others and is very competitive. The other solutions have different types of licensing, but when you do the math, it is competitive."
