A cost-effective solution, but the user interface lacks the ability to customize
In the UK, I think that we are one of the biggest utilizers of the service. With the restrictions that it has, I don't think it's got massive upscalability. For general users it is fine, but the scalability could be better. We started with approximately eight and a half thousand users, and we currently have about twelve-thousand people using it. This is used widely across a number of user groups, including administrators, end users, general users, and specific privileged users for two-factor authentication. We do plan to increase the usage of this solution. Our current capacity is fourteen thousand but we will probably grow beyond that.

Has an easy initial setup process, but its technical support services need improvement
The product's technical support could be better. The integration project requires a lot of technical details, so we need to find it quickly and easily. There was a large community of knowledge in the past. We kept it together and got the results. The community that works around the particular technical issue is shrinking. It used to be a specialized community that would help with the process. These particular areas need improvement. Broadcom is still using a hybrid cloud model, with some workloads on-premises and some in the cloud. They must start with the cloud adoption and move as many workloads to the cloud as possible. The on-premises environment is becoming stable. They need to rebuild that cost and the software. The product's pre-sales, technical support, and installation could also improve.

Pros

"The most valuable feature for us is the ability to use Active Directory groups as virtual containers instead of domains because it means that we can control our access groups better."
"The most valuable feature for us is the ability to use Active Directory groups as virtual containers instead of domains because it means that we can control our access groups better."
"The Gemalto Protiva suite is really complete as it has smart card managed software, Secure Digital Key, drivers, smart card reader, smart card, OTP readers etc."
"We started off with 10,000 customers on system, it looked good, now we have about 1.6 million customers on the system, no problems at all."
"Automated provisioning removes manual labor and manual provisioning."
"The solution is easy to scale."
"It's provided a centralized platform to manage the lifecycle of all identities across different endpoint systems such as Active Directory, Salesforce, etc."
"The scalability potential is there if a company needs to expand."
"Out-of-the-box the product has a lot of opportunity for configuration and sophisticated identity management capability."
"What Identity Governance does is that it allows us to see the full, big picture of all this inter-connectivity."
"Again, we haven't had any issues from a support perspective, once we've implemented it it's been very solid, people love it and we've saved a lot of money and time from the help desk perspective, so it's been a good investment."

Cons

"The user interface needs improvement."
"The user interface needs improvement. It is not obvious where things are; while the cosmetics are ok, the way it's laid out on the screen could be better."
"Despite having a Linux/JBOSS version it does not perform at the same level of proficiency as Windows/.NET."
"We have challenges because of the customization – it's difficult to do upgrades."
"Cloud integration, more flexibility, and interoperability in how components interact with each other and external components need improvement."
"A better information display for the approvals within the workflow would give them more information and the ability to comment back on a request as to why they're rejecting it. We've been telling them we'd like this improvement, and we hope to see it."
"The drawback with the CA Identity Manager is they don't have a connector to HR systems like SAP, or PeopleSoft, or Workday. That's a major drawback with the CA Identity Manager. For that we have to do lots of custom quoting to get data from HR systems. And if they could connect it to GRC systems, that's good to have in an identity product."
"Reporting could be improved."
"Identity manager is very complex and you must have the knowledge and skills required to use it."
"Provisioning has a dependency on Windows."
