Cloud security has improved remote access and has reduced costs for smaller client sites
I have used Cloudflare One's Identity-Aware Proxy, and it is quite straightforward from what I have seen so far. The app registration on the Azure side integrates fully into Cloudflare, and I am very satisfied with that part because it is easy to set up. The integration of Cloudflare One's Secure Web Gateway and Zero Trust Network Access works without any issues. That part is pretty automatic, and if you complete the rest of the setup, it comes together by itself with no issues from my side. What makes it nice is that we can actually start replacing on-site firewalls at this stage for the smaller clients because it does not matter if they go to a coffee shop or work from home; they are still secured by the same connection. The hops get shorter and you get better latency. We have done testing to see if it is better. One thing that we did notice with our proof of concept with our current client is that they have people connecting from the UK. When they used their previous VPN solution, uploading CAD drawings and other files to the server took a long time. They mentioned that it is much quicker on Cloudflare One's solution. I definitely believe that is part of the improved performance, and I am satisfied with that as well. What is nice about Cloudflare One is that it makes the setup easier and also easier to train technicians to maintain it. Compared to legacy systems, we do not need to get fancy firewalls in place that are costly. That is definitely also a cost-saver with Cloudflare One.

Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention can be improved because the options nowadays involve the use of AI. The approach of Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is still very traditional, where I have to create the policy for each and everything. The AI component is missing in Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention, where based on user behavior analytics, it could give us suggestions. This type of improvement is needed in Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention. Additionally, the hardware costing goes up when it comes to Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention because it requires large resources in the implementation part. Not regarding the user interface, but nowadays other DLP solutions have come up with the CASB part and the SaaS platform they are providing. Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is still lagging there, and I have to rely on the on-premises setups. The management part has been difficult as I have to patch the servers, restart them, and regularly take backups. These are a few tedious things that I have to do while managing Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention. This part also needs to be improved in Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention.

Overall, Proofpoint Enterprise DLP is a strong platform, but there are areas for improvement to enhance usability and effectiveness. One challenge is policy complexity and lifecycle management. As DLP programs mature, policies become layered and interdependent, leading to frustrations such as rule overlap that causes multiple triggers on a single message. Limited visibility into policy hierarchy impacts, difficulty modeling how new rules interact with existing ones, and change management requiring careful validation can all be challenging. An improvement opportunity would be advanced policy simulation tools for conflict detection between rules and clear rule precedence visualization, which would help understand the source of issues. The administrator user experience can feel dense from an admin perspective, especially when managing multiple layered policies, handling rule precedence, troubleshooting overlapping triggers, and onboarding new administration. As DLP programs mature, policy environments become complex quickly. Improvement opportunities would include visual policy mapping, impact previews, easier bulk policy editing, simpler policy cloning with conflict detection, and smarter recommendations during policy creation that would be very beneficial. Regarding data discovery and risk posture visibility, improvements are needed. While email layer protection is robust, organizations need better visibility across their repositories. There is an opportunity for built-in sensitive data discovery scanning and risk exposure mapping to identify which business units handle more sensitive data. A data movement visualization dashboard could also be beneficial, transitioning from reactive DLP blocking to proactive data exposure intelligence, which would significantly increase maturity.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The capabilities of the software are strong enough for me to do what it's supposed to do. For me, we don't need to do a lot of configuration on our site. We just enable it and monitor it."
"The simplicity of the solution is its valuable features as almost no effort was needed to learn the configurations. It is also one of the cheapest firewalls available in this category."
"Cloudflare DDoS mitigates DDoS attacks."
"We mostly use Cloudflare WAF, and gets basic Cloudflaire DDoS, caching as extra bonus . We like the factor these features are all integrated into 1 console, simple to manage."
"Cloudflare Zero Trust Platform removes the risk of exposing the applications to the public."
"It's the endpoint exposition. We don't need to expose our VPN server to the internet and need a zero-test solution. I can apply some conditional access to the endpoint that's connecting to our network to check their security policies or the security condition of their workstation. Once the workstation is trying to connect to my internal network, then I would like to check the discrete condition of these endpoints that are trying to access my internal network. We created some conditional access. We have CrowdStrike, to check if the CrowdStrike is installed, to check if it's updated, and to check for Windows updates. We created some conditional policies to check it."
"Using Cloudflare One makes my work quite easy because for DDoS protection, all I need to do is understand the OSI model and click; it makes it easier than trying to write a command line or use a Linux command."
"I'm very satisfied with the environment and the dashboard."
"A very user-friendly predefining feature."
"I would certainly recommend this solution to others; it's one of the best DLP solutions on the market."
"The product is good and reliable, the vendor company is continually improving it, and they seem to stay one step ahead."
"The solution has been good, and it has responded to our needs."
"It's fast and it prepares loss reports."
"The fingerprinting technology is the solution's most valuable feature. It's unique to Forcepoint."
"The Forcepoint DLP is such a useful tool for organizations as it protects sensitive data with multiple kinds of functionality such as OCR and an analytics engine (which helps determine if any sensitive data is in danger of policy violations)."
"Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention provides the user with plenty of control."
"Proofpoint Enterprise DLP has had a positive impact on my organization by providing benefits for visibility at this time."
"Since we started using it, we've seen a 100% improvement, a 45% reduction in DLP, an 80% increase in DLP cases being identified because it's a great detection tool, and a 40% decrease in events due to the warnings it provides users."
"Adaptive information protection with Proofpoint Enterprise DLP has changed how we handle sensitive data and respond to threats, allowing us to block sensitive data if it is being shared with external persons."
"I think the best features Proofpoint Enterprise DLP offers are its speed and reliability."
"Proofpoint is definitely the best."
"Proofpoint Enterprise DLP is a mature, reliable email-layer data protection solution that delivers strong value when implemented with proper governance."
"It's a very good solution in terms of preventing or protecting from DLP incidents."
"It has helped us tremendously to ensure our esteemed customers that whatever data our SMEs, security practice team, or SecOps team uses or may access from their customer data is being kept safe with us and is not being shared across the organization or outside the organization."

Cons

"For the topic of improvement, providing some training material is one of my suggestions."
"Cloudflare DDoS has poor technical support."
"The tool should provide on-premise versions. Currently, all versions are cloud-based."
"The software has automated alerts, but the automated alerts are not available in the mobile app."
"Feedback could be enhanced."
"Our subscription plan for the solution has a limitation of bot signatures."
"From a logging perspective, it is still a bit difficult to see exactly what users are being blocked with the current views."
"The pricing is an area that can be improved. Pricing, as far as I recall, was the source of our problems."
"The user-friendliness of the interface in formulating DLP policies could be improved."
"I would like to see improvement in the reporting. We can only get one week's worth of data; we can't get more than that. Also, the reporting console is very slow, making it very frustrating to use."
"They need to improve their reporting feature as well as the incident response."
"Their discovery or the way they discover the data at risk can also be improved. There are many database servers that are not supported by Forcepoint."
"It would be better if we could easily integrate with other products. Suppose I want to integrate this DLP with some other CASB solutions or a firewall solution. In that case, it takes a considerable amount of time because Forcepoint DLP doesn't come with a legacy firewall or CASB solutions to integrate with it. We need to do it separately. It's not improvised for different sectors, and I need to look for other solutions. I'm investing a lot of time researching and implementing other solutions for other areas. That is one point where I can't feel satisfied with this Forcepoint DLP. The only problem we have faced is that it consumes most of the CPU whenever a Forcepoint DLP is deployed on an endpoint. This is when users feel some lag in their machine's performance or their Internet performance. That's when we uninstall and try to reinstall, or we'll give a cloud link to which it gets access. We use Forcepoint DLP for endpoint protection, not for email or cloud. For email and drive, we went with the Google DLP. Forcepoint DLP isn't as efficient on drive or chat, or email. For that, we have some specialized solutions, but it would be better to have a single console where you can control all these areas. It would be pretty easy for a consumer who is going to use this product. All in one shot, you can try to track it and enforce your policies on a single dashboard. That is one point currently lacking in Forcepoint, and I feel they need to work on it. In the next release, I would like to use this DLP across different solutions like network, firewall, email, or chat with a consolidated dashboard and with integration facilities with other solutions. Security should work as a whole. It shouldn't work individually in blocks. It does not serve our purpose. It should be integrated with multiple solutions. For that, it should have enough intelligence to work with other tools. I'm looking forward to seeing that kind of capability with Forcepoint."
"The post-optical character recognization feature could be improved because it only really works on documents with some length (at least three paragraphs)."
"In terms of display, the support and the Mac platform requires a lot of improvement."
"There is an admin and you have to monitor the solution all the time."
"Proofpoint Email Data Loss Prevention (DLP) should probably add something more into their case management process."
"Overall, Proofpoint Enterprise DLP is a strong platform, but there are areas for improvement to enhance usability and effectiveness."
"In terms of improvements, I find there are some blind spots in Proofpoint Enterprise DLP; you can obviously add more channels for detection, and logging can be much improved, specifying exactly what action took place or what alert was generated."
"Proofpoint Enterprise DLP could improve by reducing the overwhelming amount of information on their dashboard, which makes training necessary for both users and admins."
"Proofpoint Enterprise DLP is generally a high-pricing solution, so it generally requires additional licenses for the DLP."
"Proofpoint Enterprise DLP is currently very good. It could become more user-friendly for someone who is not from the DLP field and could also help someone from a finance domain by integrating it with other domains as well."
"If I had to think of one area that could use a little more polish, I do think putting more and more things into the integration of the full platform and portfolio is great to take multiple risk variants and provide alerts to the security organization and administrators."
"I rate Proofpoint Enterprise DLP a nine on a scale of one to ten because Microsoft Purview is truly a game changer."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price tag is no longer $200,000, but rather $300,000 to $400,000. It's twice."
"The prices are slightly expensive."
"Cloudflare Zero Trust Platform's pricing is good."
"The pricing of the solution is cheap. The licensing cost is also very low. I rate the cost and pricing a three out of ten."
"The solution's pricing lacks transparency."
"The pricing is somewhere in the middle. I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten."
"My company has to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution. There are no hidden charges apart from the licensing costs of the solution."
"The solution is not that expensive."
"There is an annual subscription model and the amount depends on the type of implementation."
"It's not the cheapest solution but it's not the most expensive. It's a good price for a good product."
"The pricing is fine."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing and licensing fees could be improved."
"Pricing for this solution could be better."
"They have to look at a different pricing structure for small to medium-sized enterprises because the cost is too high."
"Forcepoint DLP is a bit expensive."
