Though the tool's users experience a return on investment, the runtime reliability needs improvement
Functionality-wise, I would say that Fabric Commerce Platform has to have more sophisticated pricing algorithms specific to B2B and B2C in a pretty simple manner to make sure that you have a product and its price. B2B pricing depends on factors like transportation and a bunch of other parameters. The runtime reliability of the system is a little bit challenging.

Unified commerce platform has streamlined direct sales and integrated promotions and billing
One of the most valuable features in Salesforce Commerce Cloud is that it helps me avoid storing credit card information, with a vault function taken care of. Salesforce provides this vault feature, enabling me to bill my D2C customers directly and also feeding data into my Marketing Cloud and Services Cloud. For visibility features in Salesforce Commerce Cloud, I might need to schedule a separate meeting as I can only share certain levels of information. Experience-wise, it is very good; the platform helps identify promotional opportunities and integrates well with Salesforce's Trade Promotion Management. The main benefits Salesforce Commerce Cloud provides are significant process improvements. If we did not have it, I would need to establish a separate D2C portal such as Magento Commerce and integrate with Salesforce for some data. Having Salesforce Commerce Cloud is essential as it integrates very quickly and is part of the entire ecosystem.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's most valuable feature stems from its usefulness as a PIM software, CMS, and storefront."
"Demandware is at the top of the list when it comes to a SaaS-model e-Commerce solution for its ease of use, low start-up costs (compared to an on-premise solution) and scalability."
"Demandware helped the company set up a user friendly e-commerce website in a short time frame and offers stable system performance."
"The conversion of opportunities and leads to accounts is one of the most valuable features."
"On a scale of one to ten I would love to give it a 10+."
"Ability to quickly add content and manage products along with associated web content easily."
"Customer Service: Actually, their ticket system and help area is very good."
"We use this solution for general CRM use cases including capturing the regular customer lifecycle, opportunities, accounts and managing leads."
"The solution gives very detailed information to track the progress of the opportunities, like the status of the opportunity and for how long you’ve been in touch with the customer for this opportunity."

Cons

"The runtime reliability of the system is a little bit challenging."
"As its code base is hidden, we have little scope for our own customization. We compulsorily have to go with the partners they have chosen."
"Being able to customize everything in general to our specific needs would be pretty awesome."
"Needs better access to code and customizability of the solution."
"The dashboards for this solution could be improved."
"This solution could be improved by providing additional artificial intelligence capabilities that are available out-of-the-box."
"It is similar to ATG, but some features can be exchanged between the 2."
"Needs better access to code and customizability of the solution."
"If you have followed the best practices you will not have a problem, however you are allowed to change the caching for different pages and that may cause a lot of problems with the performance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I don't think our company uses enough functionalities of Fabric Commerce Platform. I think that tool offers a better value proposition for B2C models."
"The product is expensive."
"The licensing of Salesforce Commerce Cloud is something that will depend on the customer's usability. For us as a company, we are in a position where we will be paying the premium for licensing. If we go to the customer who is seeking a B2C solution quickly, we will definitely look at the pricing when it comes to the user base and receive good discounts. Discount is something that depends on the volume and that is where we need to work on. It is a little sensitive market when it comes to licensing procurement. There are some good competitors."
"I don't know how much the solution costs per user, but I know it's our biggest cost in the company."
"Salesforce is not a cheap solution."
"I think price-wise, it's a little bit expensive. It can be made cheaper for smaller businesses. I understand that for larger businesses, it can be a payable amount. But for medium to smaller, it is kind of costly, and it might be difficult for them to pay."
"I give the price of the solution a three out of ten."
"There are no significant upfront license costs."
"Initially when we installed Salesforce, we thought that it was a bit pricey, but I think for the value that we're getting, it’s suitable."
