Leverages comprehensive network monitoring and AI-driven automation for enhanced performance analysis
There is a model for network traffic analysis in the NetOps product called NetOps Flow Analyzer. It provides all the necessary protocols and analysis. DX NetOps supports network monitoring across hybrid environments, though I hope it works out of the box. The product features include automation through AI, allowing out-of-the-box analysis of performance data, building baseline trends, and enabling configuration of dynamic thresholds relative to collected data.

With the help of the solution, we can predict and prevent failures
Currently, the most valuable thing for an individual is a mobile device. Since that is where people are currently tracking everything, we have multiple applications or apps that are for various products. I would like ITRS Geneos to develop an app, where instead of going to specific login terminals or logging into laptops or desktops to check alerts, we can have visibility in the app itself. Using the ITRS Geneos app, we could see the error message during our travels or wherever we are. I would like to see the capacity of messages for forecasting increased. Since the NSE is the number one derivative stock exchange in the work for three consecutive years, the number of messages is important. We use the capacity planner in ITRS to forecast our data needs for the next two months. The planner is important because the volume of data we produce is becoming more and more volatile compared to when we first started using ITRS Geneos in 2014.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"A highly scalable solution."
"The AI is the best feature in this solution."
"The solution is stable."
"It's good for root cause analysis for network problems and network link problems."
"The best features I've seen so far with DX NetOps are that it can work with large scale systems, and it has a lot of functionalities and matrices."
"The product features include automation through AI, allowing out-of-the-box analysis of performance data, building baseline trends, and enabling configuration of dynamic thresholds relative to collected data."
"I like that it provides an overall view of our network. From the topology view to every event, we can view it. We can also see the interface utilization for future capacity planning. It fits our use case and environment."
"It is straightforward to configure, and you can quickly gather data from your infrastructure."
"This solution has helped provide relief to existing Level 2 teams, allowing them to focus efforts on in-depth problem analysis."
"The NetProbe carries over 100 samplers which are capable of monitoring hardware, OS, and the application layer."
"The filtering in the Active Console is exceptional. Depending on the user base, some people don't want to see server-level errors, so we have filters set up in the Managed Entities view, which allow us to filter out things that certain groups don't want to see, while allowing them to see other things. It's a great real-time monitoring solution. And you can draw graphs immediately, right from the Active Console, whether they're current graphs or historical graphs."
"Ability to monitor logs for potential issues to prevent app outages before problems get a chance to arise. That's invaluable for our teams in a fast-paced trading environment."
"This tool allows one to analyse, integrate and customize as per the systems and allows you to set your own rules."
"The Netprobe is so lightweight compared to the agents that most monitoring tools use. It's really superior to the competition. The agent that is used by almost every competitive tool takes a lot more system resources. It's slower and it requires a greater effort and more compromises in terms of security to install on the monitored servers. With Geneos, because it lives outside the code, it is far easier and far less taxing on the monitored systems."
"ITRS can define rules to alert when certain parameters that you monitor breach a threshold. Rules can be configured to fire recovery actions automatically to clear the alert"
"The solution is used across the entire investment banking division, covering environments such as electronic trading, algo-trading, fixed income, FX, etc. It monitors that environment and enables a bank to significantly reduce down time. Although hard to measure, since implementation, we have probably seen some increased stability because of it and we have definitely seen teams a lot more aware of their environment. Consequently, we can be more proactive in challenging and improving previously undetected weaknesses."

Cons

"The hardware requirements can be improved."
"Technical support needs to be better. They need to be more knowledgeable and responsive."
"DX NetOps is somewhat convoluted, and some of the programming constructs can be documented or driven through languages such as Python, Perl, and shell scripting, but they have their proprietary language, which may not be very user-friendly."
"It would be better if they had an NFA network analysis feature. We appreciate features like extended network security for bucket flows, but it would be better to have some IDs, IPS functionalities, DDoS, or something like that."
"It would be useful to have more AI features."
"Technical support could be more responsive."
"The licensing cost of DX NetOps is expensive, not very affordable, and on the top of the price range in the market."
"Lacks dashboards and better integration with other solutions."
"One thing that could be improved in terms of rapid scaling would be more ability to clone aspects of an implementation. It seems like there are opportunities in this area, where we have repetitive tasks to do when it comes to implementing things on new servers or on new gateways. It would be great if there was an easy way to clone something that had already been done."
"I would also like to see suggested guidelines to accomplish a monitoring task. The issue is that ITRS is so flexible that there is more than one way to complete a task, each with benefits and disadvantages."
"t needs to have better middleware integration for things such as application and Microsft SQL servers."
"We all look at the same things - CPU, disk space, paging stats, service status with RAG status on each. That could be provided straight out, saving significant time."
"They have the Webslinger solution where you can see when something is alerting. It's a little bit cumbersome."
"The deployment method for upgrading is a bit tricky. It takes a little bit of manual effort. If that could be a bit more automated, it would help us a lot."
"Mobile phone integration is probably not as rich as it could be."
"I would like to see ITRS integrate its setup editor with a SVN to check-in setup XML after major changes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The licensing cost may seem expensive upfront. However, the service is outstanding, the tool does things that no other tools can do, and the customizability more than makes up for the cost of licensing."
"The pricing is fairly market-related. They have been very lenient because we have been working with them for so long. An example is that we're currently migrating some of our services to AWS, and they've given us a grace period for some of the things to help with the migration and not to grow additional costs while we are migrating, but it's still on par with the market."
"Pricing is the touchy subject, even here. Upper management always wants us to find a cheaper solution. But we have so much integrated with ITRS... It's expensive, but it does its job very well. And you set it and go."
"You will get the best price if you get a single global deal."
"The pricing seems reasonable. We're happy enough with it."
"Based on feedback from colleagues and friends working in the financial sector, Geneos is relatively costly. Many companies have been switching from Geneos to Dynatrace, Sysdig, or other monitoring tools in the past two years because of the price."
"Given our spend and the amount of service we have in it, the pricing is quite reasonable."
"Pricing and licensing is based on the requirements."
