We performed a comparison between Dropbox and Egnyte based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Content Collaboration Platforms solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."A valuable feature is that it's useful for exchanging large files and documents. I'm happy with it."
"Dropbox allows me to organize files well. I can name files in such a way as to lead students to the right destination."
"I can edit my files online, and I like the comments option."
"The primary standout feature for me is the effortless synchronization across various devices."
"The initial setup was very easy."
"The solution is easy to use, everyone can use it."
"Offers great flexibility."
"The security is very good."
"It provides a way to granularly choose which folders from the internet you want to sync to your computer. It is really useful for people who are working on teams that are working with files that are frequently changing. You can go in and pretty clearly see what changes have been made. It gives you a constant feed."
"It's easy to move files around, even to, for example, SharePoint."
"You can really do a lot of cool things with it in terms of being able to co-author and share documents with users that are not in your organization."
"It is scalable and stable."
"From a small firm perspective, Egnyte Connect is simple, it is easy to get users up and running the same day, and I have nothing negative to say about the software. I can't speak to how Egnyte Connect would operate in a midsize company or even a large Fortune 500 company, but, from our perspective as a small business, it is fantastic."
"Egnyte Connect is a great application to save files."
"It is a good storage solution."
"The mobile aspect of the solution needs improvement. For instance, if I want to use a file from Dropbox on my phone, I sometimes struggle to download images off of Dropbox. The solution lacks accessibility on different devices."
"The interface could have bigger buttons."
"Improve the ease of use. Sometimes, occasional users struggle to login again and access documents."
"2 Gb of free space and then a not so cheap subscription (also if the competitors have similar proposals for customers)."
"The solution could be a bit less expensive."
"There is a potential improvement regarding storage capacity and offering more than its current four gigabytes."
"The solution could improve by being more secure and having more storage."
"The product could always offer more storage."
"If this solution had a better ability to search, that would be helpful. In addition, if there was an ability to collaborate, that would also be a benefit. At present, the vision control is had because if someone gets out of it, it locks. And, whoever saves last overrides everyone's work."
"As of right now, I have everything that I and my team need."
"The issue of my authorization token expiring pretty quickly was pretty annoying. On pretty much every update, it would expire on every computer. On every computer update, at the first opportunity, it would expire. When my computer got updated or the authorization got cut, my saved drives would get messed up. So, I had to reconnect them all. I was never able to set up a useful drive system with my local computer with Egnyte Connect. It would be a big improvement if there was a cached system so that when it loses connection, it can still save what kind of connections were set up, and when it reconnects, it repopulates all those. I don't know if that's even possible, but that's the feature I'd want."
"It would be nice to see an integration of using an active directory to validate and authenticate users on our end as well as on the client user's end."
"Before, when we were starting to use Egnyte, we were struggling with a lot of bugs with Egnyte desktop sync."
"You cannot delete a file when you have uploaded it in error."

Thanks for that,
I've looked at Box but it doesn't have auto file locking nor hybrid functionality.
With Sharefile the Enterprise version looks to be way out of our remit, its only for 7 users!
And I don't understand Sharefile's data allowances, they are woefully under provisioned. I think they're missing a 0 at the end :)
I work at Citrix ShareFile and our Enterprise edition offers hybrid storage and sync. You can learn more at www.sharefile.com or I'd be happy to put you in touch with one of our specialists
Hia, I have been using Box.com on large scale. Think this will satisfy the above, it has certain limitations specially on the way top level shares are organize. Happy to give you more details. See this link for more info from the vendor.
