Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Helps me deal with a litany of access credentials, but the user interface is not well structured
Our primary use for this solution is password management. We have so many websites, passwords, and user IDs that it is impossible to remember them all This solution has helped us deal with the litany of access credentials, whether business or personal. The most valuable feature is that it stores…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I see the Auto IT integration as the most valuable feature."
"CyberArk PAM gives us a single pane of glass to manage and secure identities across multiple environments."
"Implementing CyberArk is not only rolling out a tool, it also will force the company to have a good look at the access management strategy, improve security processes and clean data."
"Allows secure, logged access to highly sensitive servers and services."
"On implementing the CyberArk PIM solution, we are able to achieve this goal."
"We found the initial setup to be easy."
"The most important feature is managing the credentials and implementing those policies which rotate the credentials. Session Manager is also key in not letting the users have access to those credentials. Instead, CyberArk actually manages everything by itself."
"The AI capabilities, including advanced threat detection features, are very helpful for us. They reduce human effort and errors, allowing us to quickly identify and respond to threats."
"The most valuable feature is that it stores all of your user IDs and passwords, and unlocks them with just one master password."
"The most valuable feature is that it stores all of your user IDs and passwords, and unlocks them with just one master password."

Cons

"PAM could be more user-friendly and CyberArk could update the documentation to include more real-world examples. You have to learn it yourself through trial and error. In particular, the online documentation should have more information about troubleshooting."
"The solution is too complicated to use and should be simplified. It took me a long time to understand how to use it. There is a lot that the solution can improve for the future."
"Having a centralized place to manage the solution has been something that I have always wanted, and they are starting to understand that and bring things back together."
"We should be able to join small components."
"Some of the additional features that we are looking at are in the Conjur product."
"In the next release, they could simplify the setup and I would like some tasks added like file sharing. When a client connects to CyberArk and wants to put a file on the server, they cannot."
"I would like to see better usability for non-technical people."
"The management console has a lot of functionalities, but is a little bit complex to use."
"The user interface is in need of improvement."
"The user interface is in need of improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Previously, the pricing was very meager. They started publicizing and advertising the solution, growing CyberArk, as an organization. They also changed their pricing with that growth, e.g., the pricier the product, the more people who will purchase it."
"I would rate the cost of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager seven out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"CyberArk has been Gartner's number-one pick for the past ten years, so you can infer that their pricing is higher than everyone else. When you are the best, you will charge appropriately for it."
"I would rate CyberArk's pricing a nine out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions in the market, but it's worth it."
"Payments have to be made on a yearly basis toward the licensing costs of the solution."
"This solution is considered to be more expensive than others out there on the market today."
"This solution is expensive."
"I have heard from my leaders that CyberArk is costlier in terms of licensing. The support and maintenance are also costly. We use their premium support, but for the price we pay, we do not get the value."
"The personal version is approximately $20 USD per year."
