Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Helps me deal with a litany of access credentials, but the user interface is not well structured
Our primary use for this solution is password management. We have so many websites, passwords, and user IDs that it is impossible to remember them all This solution has helped us deal with the litany of access credentials, whether business or personal. The most valuable feature is that it stores…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Thus far I can say technical support is excellent. We haven't had any issues or difficulties."
"It has the ability to scale out. We have scaled out quite a bit with our product and use of it to get to multiple locations and businesses, so it has the breadth to do that."
"The biggest feature is the security of the overall solution. It's very secure. The vaulting technology and the number of security layers involved in the vault, where privileged accounts are actually stored, is the heart of the solution."
"It is very simple to use."
"I appreciate CyberArk's real-time capabilities. I can secure critical sessions, such as SSH or database sessions. As a security professional, I have real-time visibility into ongoing sessions. If anything suspicious occurs, I can terminate or freeze the session, which is part of user behavior analytics."
"It is a single tool that isolates possible kinds of malware. You get lateral movement blocking and auditing information, e.g., you know who is doing what. You are getting protections from the service as well as a useful environment. All your admins can easily go in and out of your company while accessing your servers in a secure way, even if they are working abroad."
"Before CyberArk, our developers would connect from the VPN directly to the jump servers to get all of their access; we have removed the jump servers to connect to CyberArk, security has improved, we know who is accessing and what they are doing, the access is secure, and CyberArk has increased our security."
"The ability to start the project, install and add the passwords in just a few days brings a big advantage for CyberArk."
"The most valuable feature is that it stores all of your user IDs and passwords, and unlocks them with just one master password."
"The most valuable feature is that it stores all of your user IDs and passwords, and unlocks them with just one master password."

Cons

"For users to access a system via CyberArk Privileged Session Manager, a universal connector needs to be coded in a language called AutoIT and its support for web browsers is so-so."
"The one place where we found that this product really needs to improve is the cloud. Simple integrations don't exist, even today. We don't have anything specific on CyberArk for managing, SaaS products, SaaS vendors, SaaS credentials. I understand it's a vendor-based thing and that they have to coordinate with the other vendors to be able to do that, and there are integrations coming. But these are the major places where CyberArk definitely needs to invest some more time."
"One area for improvement is the plug-in development challenge. Although CyberArk provides a plug-in generator utility, it does not fully meet our needs, particularly for web-based applications. The plug-in generator currently works only for Telnet and SSH connections. We cannot generate a plug-in for web-based applications."
"CyberArk's license is too expensive. I rate it seven out of 10 for affordability."
"The continuous scanning of the assets is limited to Windows and Unix. We like to have the solution scan any databases, network devices, and security devices for privileged accounts. That would be very helpful."
"Over the past seven years, I have seen a lot of ups and downs with the product, but now I am happy with the version that we are using now."
"The lead product has a slow process."
"We need a bit more education for our user community because they are not using it to its capabilities."
"The user interface is in need of improvement."
"The user interface is in need of improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault's pricing is reasonable."
"The product's licensing is yearly. I would rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"No, I do not have any advice on the price of the product."
"My company always complains about the cost of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager because it's too high."
"I hope to learn how the pricing works so that I can understand it better, but I am certain it is not inexpensive."
"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault is a very expensive product."
"The cost is high compared to other products."
"Our risk is definitely significantly lower. Also, our resources are low."
"The personal version is approximately $20 USD per year."
