Continuous replication and backup simplify customer service across enterprises of any size
Veeam Data Platform provides me with the most useful features such as application restore, single file restore, backup and replication, and continuous replication. We utilize these features for management and the customers we serve. Veeam Data Platform provides features such as immutability and ransomware protection. While we use other applications for ransomware protection, we rely on Veeam Data Platform for encryption.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The platform's most effective feature is quickly recovering virtual instances into a separate environment."
"Yes, I previously used Microsoft System Center but Veeam is better, faster and easy to use and configure."
"The solution has improved our organization because it's very fast in backup recovery."
"This product is user-friendly. The interface is easy to use."
"The granular restoration that it provides for a business application is most valuable. For example, for Exchange, we can restore a single mailbox or email. We can also do SQL Server restoration and bare-metal recovery for operating systems."
"One of the best things about Veeam is that they have consistently improved on themselves since they started. Personally, I've been using Veeam since around 2013/2014 when it was only supporting certain hypervisors such as HyperV, and since then it has become truly mature enterprise-level software with a lot of versatility."
"We use Veeam to protect our production environment without the need to install clients on every VM for every different MSFT applications that we have in production."
"VM backup and ease of use are the most valuable features."
"Customer Service: It is very good. Technical Support: Technical support is also very good."

Cons

"They could add more intelligence features in the workflow through automation."
"The implementation of the features can be improved. Currently, there is no segregation of duty."
"The scalability of the product in large organizations is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Compared to IBM, Veeam Data Platform is simpler but brings some challenges with automation in backup and Oracle backup configuration."
"Random CBT errors during backup jobs."
"The backup of the device could be improved and it's also quite an expensive solution, more expensive than Acronis."
"As with any product things can break down."
"The solution requires a lot of bandwidth because our servers are heavy."
"They need full cloud integration such that an on-premises backup can be offloaded to the cloud for storage."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The additional cost is cloud storage, which the public cloud provider charges."
"I would suggest to others that they buy the full license when purchasing this solution."
"This product is not cheap, but it's well worth the cost."
"The license subscription could be more straightforward."
"The price of Veeam Backup Replication is reasonable."
"It is always nice to get products cheaper. Technically, it saves you a lot of money. If you wanted to buy the same functionality out of vSphere, you would spend thousands to essentially get the same functionality."
"We pay every month for Enterprise Plus. There are no additional costs."
"The price of Veeam is much lower than the IBM solution."
"The license cost is per socket, per processor. We can have one license with two processors and we can cover everything inside of the test environment that we have."
