Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation has streamlined client data extraction and has improved reporting for business decisions
I work as a developer, and my manager is responsible for the research and analytics for the project with the client and business users. I am satisfied with BotFarm. I would rate my experience with BotFarm an eight out of ten. I do not see any room for improvement for BotFarm. I am using AI tools such as Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and ChatGPT. I am not using AI-powered bots in BotFarm. I am a partner with Automation Anywhere.

Offers a user-friendly interface but lacks enterprise-level features
EdgeVerve AssistEdge RPA is not difficult to deploy and the process was fine. Concerning deployment time, it usually takes one or two days. It totally depends upon the number of use cases and the processes where we are implementing. It might take weeks as well, depending upon the process in which we are implementing.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Automation Anywhere is frequently releasing new features to their product. I find this amazing as they provide frequent product updates, introducing new features to the frameworks and similar aspects."
"By automating processes we give back valuable hours to business stakeholders, which can be spent on value-adding activities instead of repetitive tasks."
"Automation has helped us improve productivity in that it first of all saves time, and because of the automation we are able to eliminate human errors, so it is really good for improving our productivity and has helped us a lot."
"The setup is straightforward. Automation Anywhere provides customer success managers to help with the setup."
"Improved Efficiency : Post RPA services, the efficiency and accuracy of the processes have increased tremendously and now the employees can focus more on important research and analysis work."
"The scalability is good."
"There have been a lot of challenges in terms of interfacing with the customer ERPs. So, we have been building tools and interfaces using bots to write back into these custom ERPs. Specifically, in the area where I work, this has been very helpful."
"The most valuable feature is recording in the Control Room, as it allows me to chose what I want to have recorded, ensuring that I get the right thing on time."
"Automation Anywhere provides and facilitates cloud service, which means you can access your license from anywhere, easily executing and developing your bots from anywhere in the world."
"The solution has very good processes. It's very easy to deploy and has good reviews on it. It offers good automation and the solution has very good developers working on it."
"There are not many challenges when setting up this solution, and there is a good amount of documentation to go with it."
"Automation Anywhere provides a very flexible UI."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the Excel automation and support for SharePoint."
"The best aspect is the UI, as it is very user-friendly."
"The dashboards are quite good, especially on the latest versions."
"The entire backend system structure is something that I found really valuable."
"EdgeVerve AssistEdge RPA is more affordable than UiPath."
"Good email automation and XL automation."
"There are some typical features I like such as email automation, XL automation, some AI/ML capabilities that are evolving, but are not quite mature yet, and I like the website automation."
"The feature I like the most is the ability to capture elements easily, especially when automating web-based applications. Additionally, I find the SAP connectors to be quite beneficial."
"The user interface is not complicated, even for new users. Two to three weeks is enough to get ahold of it."
"The tool follows a role-based working model to create things. It helps to track what others are doing with the system."
"The features of EdgeVerve AssistEdge RPA that customers find most helpful include the easy understanding and good UI/UX."
"AssistEdge made it so that the reps didn't need to maneuver through 10 or 20 different systems. We tied all that together in the background, so the reps had a shared UI, and everything else happened in the background without their knowledge. When they were retrieving data, it was done in the background through automation and pulling up to that generic UI layer"

Cons

"Vertical connecting lines would be appropriate within the code, and a collapse/expand feature for code blocks would be ideal."
"We have a lot of use cases that depend on certain Java applets, and currently we're not able to leverage the Object Cloning that would speed up our automation designing. So we have to revert to more image recognition-type of designing, and it just takes a long time to get that bot built."
"Technical support is not very good and they sometimes promise what they cannot deliver. They promised us that they would implement multitrigger and according to sources delivery of that functionality is not in their plans."
"The mobile application can be improved by adding more functions and capabilities because right now, only a few features are enabled for mobile users."
"Attended automation sometimes might go into exceptions, thus we need to monitor it in-between, then check whether it is working properly. This way, we ensure the bot is working properly."
"The AI centricity is a bit behind compared to the way we see Microsoft and AWS doing it. This is the feedback that I have also given to them. They need to expand themselves to provide more services than just RPA. Only RPA may not be enough for us, and it would not be our preferred choice for an automation tool."
"I would like a couple more features where I can talk and the line comes up automatically."
"It would be better if they could extend the support for AA version 11 for a few more years, as most of the companies have tasks completed in AA version 11, and A2019 is much slower compared to AA 11."
"The CL command poses an issue during the process of data conversion, accuracy, data loss and the assessment of certain data as false."
"The solution automation is incapable of interacting with our Pega software application development. It is based on the nested table concept and it is unable to read these tables. Several projects have been put on hold because of that."
"The OCR command needs to improve. This feature is used to convert the extracted data from an image file. While converting this file I was facing a lot of issues with the data because it was getting lost and some of the data which was extracted was mismatched. The data loss was rated as a nine and the data accuracy was a massive decrease and was up to 80%."
"Normally we need to monitor the solution using an AWS console and the control room. We would like to have a standardized dashboard to see all the information in one place."
"The dashboard needs improvement. For Bot Farm, the visualization is not that good compared to the main Automation Anywhere dashboard."
"An area for improvement in BotFarm is that the communication between the Control Room and the Bot Client Missions isn't utilized well."
"From the holistic standpoint of the product offering, there are a lot of things that need to be done."
"The machine learning needs to be improved so that they perform better in terms of predictive analysis and sentiment analysis."
"The solution could be improved if it provided integration with third party tools like Python, native integration, which is very important."
"We provide them with consulting and strategy advisory services, but we have never recommended any organization to use EdgeVerve AssistEdge RPA."
"AssistEdge isn't a simple tool like Blue Prism or other RPA solutions with configurable items that you can drag and drop. This involved a lot of hard coding, which posed two challenges. One, we did not have that skillset, so we depended on Infosys. Two, it's a beast to go back and update or make changes when things are hard coded because you can't just move those configurable items back around."
"In my opinion, areas for improvement in this solution lie in handling documentation, especially when dealing with data from various layouts or formats like scanned PDFs. Currently, new features are emerging in other tools, like generative AI, that could enhance these aspects."
"Lacks integration with third party tools."
"There should be more activities like extraction for reading or converting PDFs. There are fewer activities compared to other tools. There are no custom activities."
"The tool's alternatives work on drag-and-drop functionality without creating custom code. We don't have an in-built queue system and use RabbitMQ for it. The solution also doesn't have a framework."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The major reason that we selected Automation Anywhere was the licensing model."
"In the Indian market, I feel that for mid-size companies, such as ourselves, that having multiple bots costs a lot. If Automation Anywhere wants to expand in the Indian market, they will need to look at their pricing."
"The Community Edition is a good offering from the company."
"We're paying a monthly subscription fee for the bot and for services. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
"Including the AWS setup and everything per license, it costs us around $10,000 on an annual basis. I believe that is pretty reasonable considering the teams that we have."
"It is not too expensive, but there are many tools available in the market that can provide the same functionality at a cheaper price."
"I think it's $5,500 per license."
"It is expensive. Automation Anywhere has reduced the price slightly, as we have grown. However, the price is still excessive enough that we are engaged in PoCs on other tools."
"I am very happy with the pricing."
"The pricing model could be simplified."
"Licenses are paid on a yearly basis and the cost is quite high."
"We pay approximately $15,000 USD per year."
"Its price is quite high as compared to other solutions, but it has a lot of features and good stability. They should reduce its price."
"The pricing is fair."
"The solution prices are expensive. It would be more beneficial for customers to lower the pricing."
"The starter price is free."
"EdgeVerve AssistEdge RPA is cheaper compared to other RPA tools."
