A high-performing solution provides highly available, fully managed OpenShift clusters on demand and lot of automation that developers can utilize
Azure Red Hat OpenShift is very valuable because it is a complete application delivery platform with a lot of automation that developers can utilize. It's a complete solution without building your own on top of Kubernetes. As a consulting company, we implement Azure Red Hat OpenShift for our clients, who appreciate its integration capabilities for enhancing cloud operations. While we handle implementation, build processes, and automation, the operational responsibility lies with the customer. The service provides basic processes and support from Red Hat and Microsoft, which benefits clients by allowing them to focus on their business rather than regular operations like cluster upgrades.

The implementation cycle has been reduced significantly but has room for integration enhancements
Our existing customers who are on ECC are on-premises. They are migrating to SAP Cloud Platform, specifically on S4HANA.  One of our clients was on SAP ECC on-premises, and they are moving to the cloud on S4HANA on the public cloud system.  We are supporting about 15 customers, mostly small to…

Pros

"As a consulting company, we implement Azure Red Hat OpenShift for our clients, who appreciate its integration capabilities for enhancing cloud operations. While we handle implementation, build processes, and automation, the operational responsibility lies with the customer. The service provides basic processes and support from Red Hat and Microsoft, which benefits clients by allowing them to focus on their business rather than regular operations like cluster upgrades."
"The most valuable features of the solution are accessibility and scalability."
"It has a feature to automatically scale up or scale down. If my application is running in peak hours, it will automatically increase."
"Technical support from Red Hat is very good."
"It supports AKS and other projects like Kubernetes or EKS."
"Flexibility, a very well-developed interface, and ease of learning are the most valuable features of Azure Red Hat OpenShift."
"The solution's support and its automation tool that ensures we are secure and appropriately configured are the most valuable features of Azure Red Hat OpenShift."
"Red Hat is a very stable product with good integration with products such as Kubernetes, and it also offers migration tools."
"The tool's most valuable aspects are the niche technologies and the latest editions. The way these updates are rolled out makes it easy to manage because clients and customers are not responsible for keeping everything up to date. It's SAP's responsibility, which makes it much easier to take advantage of the new features they roll out every month."
"The mobile access capability is very beneficial."
"The platform is extremely scalable."
"It’s great that we have the entire suite of SAP at our fingertips."
"The integration flows are the most valuable feature of this solution."
"SAP has provided very good support."
"It is a stable solution, as I never encountered issues when using it."
"One of the best features of this solution is that it is web-based and you can log in and work on it from anywhere."

Cons

"Regarding room for improvement, there's always room, but it's mainly about Azure itself rather than Azure Red Hat OpenShift. Azure is not as advanced as AWS in terms of supported services. AWS is the leader in this area. However, there's no need for service improvement in Azure Red Hat OpenShift as the service is excellent. I don't need additional features because I can customize it according to the customer's needs."
"I would like Azure Red Hat OpenShift to be more open to new frameworks and languages. Currently, if I create a pod with Rust, it doesn't work in OpenShift, and I must create a layer of interpretation."
"Automation could be improved."
"Technically, Azure Red Hat OpenShift is fine. However, its marketing could be improved, especially when compared to the robust marketing efforts of Azure, HPE, and Nutanix."
"They need to improve the core licensing model."
"The product is expensive."
"There is room for improvement in terms of orchestration. While Azure orchestration offers valuable features, it's worth noting that it may not match the level of orchestration provided by Kubernetes itself."
"Azure Red Hat OpenShift's support should be improved."
"When I started looking at the client's IT architecture, I started by doing a study of their services, DVM, data volume, and management services. According to the results, they could be a lot better at this."
"SAP Cloud Platform's installation is not straightforward. You need a person with knowledge to handle it."
"Planning features are limited to the finance module."
"SAP is expensive."
"The current pricing model is credit-based. We would like to have more information about the usage of the existing applications."
"In the next release, I would like to see improvements with the price and the licensing."
"SAP Cloud Platform should improve on integrating third-party applications with S/4HANA."
"Allowing more third-party applications to be integrated into the cloud platform would make it easier for customers to adopt SAP Cloud Platform."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive compared to a similar product."
"Compared to other cloud environments like Amazon or Google, Azure Red Hat OpenShift is an expensive solution."
"I rate the product's price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"Azure Red Hat OpenShift is not a low-price solution; it's expensive. Pricing depends on the strategy and whether you buy it directly from Red Hat or the Azure portal. Additionally, some customers may need a complete disaster recovery solution, which requires additional licensing and software products for implementation, such as backups."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the pricing a six or seven."
"Licensing costs for this solution are based on the number of users and the bandwidth."
"The tool could get too pricey...Small enterprises that want to leverage the tool's features will have difficulty in utilizing the solution."
"SAP's pricing is usually high compared to the competition. But this is also justified because they hold their products and services to quite high standards."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten."
"SAP provides good discounts."
"The cost when it comes to monitoring can be difficult."
"The pricing can be negotiated."
