Platform has strengthened user security, improved sign-on journeys, and supported future growth
Regarding areas for improvement, Auth0 Platform is a premium product, and its pricing reflects its enterprise-grade capabilities. While the cost can sometimes make smaller businesses hesitate, the return on investment usually outweighs the initial price tag when the platform is architected and implemented correctly. The comprehensive feature set, top-tier security, and reduced development time justify the investment for organizations prioritizing scalability. On the technical side, I would like to see Auth0 introduce more no-code branding options for Universal Login. Currently, achieving a highly specific, bespoke login experience often requires utilizing Liquid page templates or the newly released Advanced Customizations for Universal Login. While these are incredibly powerful tools, they do require some technical expertise to execute flawlessly. Having more robust, out-of-the-box customization options would be a great enhancement in the future.

Improved user experience with seamless integration and easy installation
The feature that I mostly valued is the ease of installation on different systems, especially on Windows. Additionally, it is very beneficial for deploying single sign-on sessions between different windows on a web browser, provided I am connected to the right identity provider. That seamless integration significantly improves user experience and efficiency.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is that it is simple to integrate, irrespective of your codebase."
"The specific outcomes since I started using Auth0 include time-saving, more security, and scalability, which are the three things I would emphasize."
"The most important feature for me was the ease of use, as it needed to be easy to integrate into my platform."
"It supports identity federation, FSO and multi-tenancy."
"What attracted me to Auth0 Platform is how simple and easy it is to implement with my applications."
"This is much better because everything is wrapped and normalized through one service."
"It offers stronger security and flexibility with API keys, which are generated on runtime."
"Auth0 Platform secures APIs, microservices, serverless applications, and containerized workloads in our cloud environment."
"This solution is meeting our requirements for all of our applications."
"It provides end users with SSO to our applications – they log in once and they can access all of our applications."
"I would totally recommend this product, but I think CA has a really good handle on what the drivers are and where the business is going in terms of application development."
"The most valuable feature is that it meets the requirements of the customer. You have a lot of features in the product. Every product has them, but the question is, are these products going to meet the requirement of the customer?"
"It has performed very well, it does what we need it to do, it's reliable, and it doesn't impose any overhead on the user or on the platform."
"It's our single solution for managing user authentication."
"It is a pretty complete product."
"SSO is a very robust application."

Cons

"I think they can do a better job in explaining what you're supposed to do next in order to correctly follow an idiomatic approach to using the solution beyond simply passing a JWT token to a server and having the server check then signature to validate the token."
"There is a possibility to improve the machine-to-machine authentication flow. This part of Auth0 is not really well documented, and we could really gain some additional knowledge on that."
"The product support for multi-tenancy could be improved."
"The product could use a more flexible administration structure"
"The product could use a more flexible administration structure in the next release."
"This is a costly solution and the price of it should be reduced."
"In the past, there was an issue with the multi-tenant where there wasn't the ability to manage them."
"The Management API could be improved so it's easier to get user information."
"Not great. The first level of support is not up to the mark or able to understand the actual problem."
"The problem is we need the support, but they don't know anything about the product."
"We're currently unable to find information about if the solution can do a full implementation with SQL. Some better and more accessible documentation for new users or those curious about the product would be helpful."
"The support could be faster."
"CA SSO does have stability issues."
"Identity Manager and GovernanceMinder should integrate better."
"The installation process was complex. There are a lot of different moving pieces, and the main complaint is that it's hard to automate any of it."
"The technical support could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are different price levels: B2B, B2C, and enterprise. The basic plan is about $1,500 per month."
"Pricing of Auth0 is a pain point. Their pricing model is very confusing, at least for an enterprise. I don't like their pricing model. I think it's too aggressive. It's not very cheap for a service that only does authentication."
"I am pretty happy with the pricing model of Auth0. It is very clear for me. Considering our scale, the features that we are using, and additional features that we bought, we still find it great. If you split the costs for the whole year and calculate the number of people you needed to hire, it always comes out to be much lesser than what we would have spent on building our own solution."
"It is a relatively inexpensive product in the industry."
"The tool is cheaper compared to competing solutions. Those alternatives tended to be more expensive. Consequently, Okta purchased it because it was considerably cheaper. The solution even offered some free services while still providing excellent functionality."
"The price is quite comparable to the other enterprise-level solutions in that market."
"The solution's pricing is competitive."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"I recommend conducting a PoC on every available product before choose one."
"Siteminder is a little costly. You pay for licensing, and they offer packages, so if you have less users, then you have to buy different products at different prices. If you have more of a user base, then the package is different. They also include other features—for example, if you have a database and you're using Siteminder, then it's good to use a Semantic-specific database, but if you are using less, then you have to purchase the database separately. Whereas if you are going for a bigger license, then it comes within the package. It depends on which plan you are using."
"CA solutions are generally expensive but for the customer the ROI is big."
"Symantec Siteminder is expensive; they could definitely do better on the price."
"The licensing is fair for this solution."
