Starts quickly with quick deployment but needs more support for older applications

Pros

"Cisco Duo is quick to deploy and easy to start."

Cons

"Cisco Duo is a modern product that does not support older applications, lacking backward compatibility. It should work on supporting legacy applications and legacy approaches."

Works very well and gives an extra level of security with Verified Duo Push

Pros

"The Verified Duo Push feature is valuable. It gives an extra level of security beyond just the regular push. "

Cons

"I would appreciate seeing Cisco Duo improved with a tighter integration with Active Directory to secure not just Remote Desktop to a server, but all the remote levels of connection that you can make to a server. "

Managing security policies effectively with seamless authentication

Pros

"The feature of Cisco Duo that I prefer the most is the policies, being able to control what we need to within the policies. You can get pretty granular. "

Cons

"Improving Cisco Duo might involve alerting us about telephony credits when people receive texts. We hit zero at one point, and we were running around in circles without any idea until I discovered it. That's my only complaint. "

Enhances security through online and offline authentication

Pros

"You can do online and offline authentication. "

Cons

"Cisco Duo can be improved by exploring a way to make it a more seamless integration and by deploying an in-house server. "

A multi-factor authentication offering a good dashboard while being reasonably priced

Pros

"The administrator tool in the dashboard is the most valuable feature. It's really easy to quickly see if users are locked out from their device, firmware code, or just all the little dashboards and reports I can run to give the security for monthly reports. The dashboard's really good."

Cons

"The pain point for us at one point was the Duo Authentication Proxy since we're on-premises and not in the cloud. We had to have a proxy machine that's in our DMZ to talk to Duo for us. The configuration of that was a little complicated."

Is effective at preventing identity-based attacks and has an easy setup

Pros

"Duo Security provides a high level of certainty regarding the identity of the individual performing an action. Whether it's logging into a system, using VPN, or utilizing Autopay, establishing that trust is crucial. I can't imagine any security company, organization, or IT team that wouldn't prioritize having multifactor authentication enabled when accessing critical systems."

Cons

"While two-factor authentication with mobile devices provides a high level of security, it's still not foolproof, as someone could potentially steal your phone. It would be beneficial to have information about the authentication location. "
