What is our primary use case?
Generally,
Citrix Endpoint Management is used to containerize the corporate applications, mails, and documents.
For mail containerization, Citrix Endpoint Management is very good, for document reading is very good, and if I have in-house applications, then if I want to publish them without compromising the data, then it's very good.
The containerization application helps organizations because these days every user has mobiles, so organizations try to push these corporate applications to personal devices, ensuring that the data should not leak; this endpoint management software helps organizations to containerize all the applications on personal devices as well.
This product promotes the BYOD concept because users don't want to carry multiple devices, and Citrix Endpoint Management very well deals with personal devices without compromising data, which is the major use case of this product.
What is most valuable?
I do use Citrix Endpoint Management's mobile app management feature.
What needs improvement?
There is always room for improvement in Citrix Endpoint Management; any product requires multiple improvements, and this is a lifelong journey, but I can say it's a very mature product now, and eventually, with AI being present, they may increase some AI-related features in the future.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Citrix Endpoint Management for 12 years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
Previously, deploying Citrix Endpoint Management was difficult, but now it's very smooth.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Citrix has a wide ecosystem that is very compatible with each other, so I have never seen any issue; in the past, it was there, but now it's a very seamless experience.
How are customer service and support?
For technical support of Citrix, I find they are responsive, but L1 is not very capable; this product requires some mature understanding, so sometimes they can handle small problems, but for major or architecture-related issues, their L3 or our L3 engineer helps them understand the problem.
I would assess the technical support of Citrix as a seven from 1 to 10.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
My time spent on installation for Citrix Endpoint Management depends on the environments; if the environment is smaller, with 200 or 100 users, then it may take 7 days, but if the deployment is for 2,000 users or 10,000 users, it will take a month or more.
What about the implementation team?
For deploying Citrix Endpoint Management in larger environments, my team consists of two or three people who will work for this.
What was our ROI?
After implementing Citrix Endpoint Management, there is a return on investment for my customers because we provide three services: first is the license, where we got margin; second, deployment service, which typically has two types—one where Citrix will do the deployment and the other where a partner should do it, and we deploy this solution for about 80% of the customers in India; third is after deployment support.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The setup cost pricing for Citrix Endpoint Management varies; I can say $3,000 per user license for setup, and deployment in India may vary from $20,000 to $40,000.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We do evaluate other options such as
Microsoft Intune as part of this product, which is also present.
What other advice do I have?
We tried in the past to use analytics, but I find the analytics tool of Citrix is still a very immature product, and lots of customers are not using it.
Since we are service providers, we don't need to be certified; if the customer is certified, then we're fine; it totally depends on negotiation, how much the customer pushes Citrix to get the price, and we got the margin; hence, the better the price, the better the margin for us.
On a scale of 1-10, I rate Citrix Endpoint Management an 8.
