In most cases, I have customers coming to me inquiring about cloud computing, specifically how they can be assisted and utilize AWS. They want to understand how they can position themselves to use AWS EC2 instances efficiently. Some of the concerns that clients have looked into include security and scalability, and often customization as well.

Within the EC2 instance, there are a number of features depending on what the client is looking for as EC2 instances on AWS allow users to run virtual servers based on the CPU, memory, storage, and networking capacity. This is based on each client's needs, which are always different. The flexibility of it is crucial, and one great aspect is the customization. This allows users to choose operating systems like Linux or Windows or perform software checks based on their application requirements. It's always great.

My colleagues build applications on the public cloud and whenever expansion in terms of capacity or resources is needed, it's easier to do on Amazon EC2, so this is the use case for the solution.

What I found most valuable in Amazon EC2 is that you only pay for what you use, versus an on-premise deployment that requires you to pay for the cost of the server. When it's on-premise, you'll need to meet more specifications and requirements, and the purchasing process even takes time. As Amazon EC2 is cloud-based, you'll only pay when you use the service.

We have a couple of primary use cases. We have an internal password server that we use for one of them. The other use case is file transfer. We have set apart an in-house SFTP process and it is all there. ETL enterprise trends and the data transformation process also run on one of the servers.

We have databases that run on one of the EC2 docs. We have a direct database that runs AWS Postgres. We don't separate that, but we do have a part of the business that runs on the server as well.

My company has a couple of servers on EC2 that we manage across defined regions. We have roughly 11 servers currently in operation for live production services and around 5 staging environments.

We have Windows and Linux servers. I think there are less Linux servers than Windows at present. I would say there are two to three Linux centers and the rest are Windows. That's what we use. Of course we have detailed information of what we do but I can't go into too much information because our company is public.

I wouldn't say it's improved our company, to be honest, because sometimes we do have issues with it. Because as much as the increase in data storage is good it is also a problem. That is because of the cost. But I would say it's good because it helps us. I would say AWS generally helps us. I'm going to talk a bit about other AWS applications, because it's kind of difficult to just dwell on EC2 and not talk about other applications since we do not just use EC2.

We also use Cloud HSM. Cloud HSM is easy to install. It has really helped us in regard to security. Now we can have our own key to encrypt our stuff. And having EC2 available is also very useful because sometimes with the configuration of Amazon stuff, if it's not done on Amazon Linux servers, it gets pretty difficult to wiggle your way around it. But with the Amazon Linux server, it's just on the fly because of their image. The fact that Amazon has their own image really helps to make your job easier and faster to configure and save.

My primary use case involves deploying multiple applications, such as web applications, database applications, and reporting platforms on EC2 instances. I use EC2 for creating and managing servers, integrating with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization, and automating tasks through Terraform scripts. My customers typically require different configurations, like Linux servers or specific database endpoints.

One of the most valuable features of EC2 is its accessibility; I can easily access it through various tools like GIT and use it on mobile devices. EC2 allows me to create servers with specific configurations, and its scalability supports different application workloads. It also provides features like auto-healing, load balancing, and integration with Docker for creating containers managed by Kubernetes.

We use EC2 like a virtual machine. It's like an instant server, so we use it as a separate server. EC2 is flexible when we need to increase its resources (memory, boosting, and storage) based on our usage. That is the power of EC2.

The feature I found most valuable is flexibility in being able to increase resources. It's the most powerful feature. We can increase EC2's resources with just a few simple clicks. We can handle this through the AWS console. It's easier than handling it on a hardware department section or hiring middleware engineers to manage the infrastructure.

My impression is that this is the main power feature of EC2. Before this feature was launched, we would have needed to contact another department or buy hardware. It was quite troublesome. Now, it's on-demand and flexible.

Almost everything we have, including virtual machines on AWS, uses Amazon EC2. The solution is running our servers on AWS.

Amazon EC2 decreased our reliance on hardware anymore. We replaced the data center with mostly Amazon EC2 servers.
