We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable aspect of the product is that it is Microsoft-based and it supports all Microsoft technology.""Its best feature is definitely the process design. It is quite easy and straightforward to design a process.""User-friendly solution.""Two valuable features of Omada Identity are the ability to discover accounts and link them to identities, and the automatic disabling of inactive accounts or identities.""The identity lifecycle support is definitely valuable because we are a complex organization, and there is a lot of onboarding, movement, and offboarding in our organization. We have 31,000 users, and there are a lot of users who are constantly onboarding, offboarding, and moving. So, we need to make sure that these activities are supported. In old times, we used to do everything manually. Everyone was onboarded, offboarded, or moved manually. So, from a business point of view and an economics point of view, identity lifecycle is most valuable. From a security point of view, access review is the most important feature for us.""Omada's user interface is elegant and easy to work with. I like Omada's ability to automatically generate accounts for new hires and allow them access to all required systems by established policies. Around 80 percent of workers can start working immediately on their first day without requesting further access.""The thing that I find most valuable is that Omada consists of building blocks, which means that you can configure almost anything you want without using custom code, making it pretty easy to do. It's possible to connect to multiple target systems and to create one role that consists of different permissions in the different target systems. So one role in Omada can make sure that you have an account in three different systems.""Our customers have benefited from Omada Identity automating the certification process. Most of our customers were using manual methods for user access certification. With Omada Identity, you can automate almost all of it, which means that certification now becomes on demand. You don't have to wait for two or three months to execute a certification timeframe. Instead, you can do certifications as often as you want."

"It is a flexible because it is customizable. It allows you to build anything on top of it.""You can scale it quite big, which is good. It has good sizing.""The portfolio view simplifies this process, eliminating the need to check through Tableau or other tools.""The tool is like a big Lego in which you can use the parts that make sense for your organization.""The back-end, its capabilities, and workflows are very good.""The short version is that we gained significant insight into the issues of access governance. This allowed us to turn an auditing nightmare into praise from our auditors.""The product makes it easier for employees to be more productive.""It has many features which can be combined and configured in a great way, then put together in projects and ways that developers didn't think were possible, which has been great."

More One Identity Manager Pros →

"The soundness of the solution is its most valuable feature. For example, if you are in our corporate network, you can log on without any traffic interfering.""We use the product to run different reports.""The only feature we were looking for in PingID was SSO integration with our existing web app.""I find the auto-discovery feature the most valuable. It helps us automate a lot of things using a single password across applications.""The solution has a smooth and configurable user interface for single sign-on capabilities.""It gets a mobility portal in place in conjunction with Office 365. It provides very good possibilities and it's much better than other technology that we have used before which was unstable and slower.""This is a user-friendly solution.""It is a scalable solution...It is a stable solution."

Cons
"The reporting and importing have room for improvement.""The Omada Identity SaaS version doesn't provide all the features Omada Identity on-premise provides.""The reporting on the warehouse data and the import process both have room for improvement.""In our organization, all the data is event-driven, which means that if an attribute is changed in the source system, it can be updated within a few seconds in all end-user systems. There is room for improvement in Omada regarding that. Omada is still batch-based for some processes, so sometimes it can take an hour or even four hours before the execution is run and the update is sent.""Omada could make it a bit more convenient to send emails based on events automatically. Having that functionality is critical for us to maintain transparency.""What I would most like to see added to the product is role management, especially enterprise or business role management, and the processes around that.""The architecture of the entire system should also be less complex. The way they process the data is complex.""Omada's performance could be better because we had some latency issues. Still, it's difficult to say how much of that is due to Omada versus the resources used by our other vendors in our on-prem environment. Considering the resources we have invested into making it run well, it's slightly slower than we would expect."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"They should offer more best practices and documentation for every functionality.""There are too many different user interfaces. For example, one is the designer and another is the manager. There's also a web interface and an object browser. It would be helpful to consolidate all of those into a single administrator portal.""It’s not something you get from the beginning. It’s not like Windows. It is more complicated. You need to know a few things from the back end, however, as you learn it, it becomes easy.""It is a very powerful solution, but when it comes to doing some complex parameterization or authorization, we end up coding. Comparatively, CA solutions require less coding. It is more powerful than the CA solutions, but you end up with coding in VB.Net or C#. Complex parameterization could be better from their side.""Integration with various applications should be made smoother. It is very difficult right now for regular implementers. Access reviews are another thing that is not that good in the solution. It needs improvement.""The initial setup was complex.""The technical support is non-existent. It is not worth talking about.""The web interface has room for improvement. It could be more performant and the design of the web interface is relatively complicated. It could be simplified."

More One Identity Manager Cons →

"PingID should put a little more effort into making a pretty self-explanatory deck about their tech features and the services they offer.""The product is not customizable.""The timing of the token validity, if it could be extended, would be great. I'm not sure if there is even an option to configure these types of settings.""I think that the connection with like Microsoft Word, especially for Office 365, is a weak point that could be improved.""PingID would benefit from a better user interface for integration.""In the beginning, the initial setup was very complex.""If the solution is going to compete with Microsoft, they need to offer more unique functionality to keep their current user base.""We have encountered instances where it is not easy to do authentication."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Start with an operations team that is motivated to learn a lot in a short period of time. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to get the right level of expertise in this area."
  • "There are old processes that are really great for some people and look like pieces of artwork. However, the maintenance of them is really expensive."
  • "The solution is flexible, in general. You can define the parts of the solution that you want to use, and it won't affect the price."
  • "We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
  • "It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
  • "We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
  • "It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
  • "It has helped to reduce customer costs."
  • More One Identity Manager Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "PingID pricing is a ten out of ten because it's a little bit cheaper than other tools, such as Okta and ForgeRock, and supports multiple tools."
  • "PingID's pricing is pretty competitive."
  • "The product is costly."
  • "The pricing is neither too expensive nor too cheap."
