Reporting features improve operational efficiency while weekend support needs enhancement
Support is moderate and needs improvement, especially during weekends when technicians perform upgrades. During weekends, they need to provide more support to ensure a smooth transition. There is a call for ManageEngine OpManager to scale better in automation and AI functionality. Although the product stability is good, support enhancement is necessary to enable better planning for upgrades and maintenance activities.

A stable security solution with a useful visibility feature
We use it to scan all of our servers and network devices on a monthly basis. Then based on the outcome, we do the patching depending on high availability, and so on Through porting, we can see how the improvement is happening over a period of time. We can see the overall scenario from the last…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We find the networking aspect of this solution to be the most valuable."
"The integration with the firewall monitoring, the security monitoring, is great."
"Device monitoring is a good tool of this solution."
"It is easy to use and deploy."
"The setup was easy."
"The dashboard, versatility and larger horizon are valuable."
"OpManager can monitor network utilization, downtime, and services in real time."
"You can put all of your work on there, they'll send you an email or send you a text. That functionality as a network engineer is the one I like the most. I do like the fact that we can schedule reports. That works too because that's a lot fewer spreadsheets that I have to create."
"Through porting, we can see how the improvement is happening over a period of time. We can see the overall scenario from the last year, where were we were and where we currently stand."
"The next big one is supportability. In a large enterprise, we have many types of technologies. The technology we previously had didn't even support authentication to a lot of those technologies."
"The scanning itself is really the core of the tool, and it's what we're most interested in."
"The first of the valuable features is how easy it is to access all of the information that's gathered from the assessments... With a lot of other technologies, like Rapid7, if you're using Nexpose you effectively have to be a DBA to get some of the lower-level results from the scans. And Qualys wasn't very intuitive."
"We can manage everything with only a single console on the Tenable SecurityCenter. We can pull and define the policy. We can perform every task on the Tenable SecurityCenter."

Cons

"There needs to be improvements to make the solution capable of supporting more devices, and it would be good to see an option for automatic deployment."
"They should add more features to URL monitoring."
"The licensing model is confusing."
"The solution is a bit difficult to configure. There are quite a number of configurations and plugins that you must handle early in the process."
"The pricing of the solution is high. They should work to adjust the pricing model to see if they can help reduce costs."
"For the implementation part, I am facing issues when configuring the business view."
"There should be an option to get mobile notifications or SMS mirror notifications for critical issues. That way, when we don't have access to email, we can still receive notifications via our phones."
"I would like to see more capabilities and specific profiles built for the manufacturing sector."
"When it comes to... dynamic application scanning, I think they are lagging behind the curve. They have a lackluster solution, to the point where I think they need to determine, as a company, whether or not that's a space they even want to play in."
"There are certain circumstances where they may have found a vulnerable service and they just removed the service completely from the device because nobody was using it. There's no way to go into SecurityCenter and mark it, to say, "This is no longer an issue. It doesn't exist anymore." Or, "The risk was accepted for one year, so let's not report it as 'high' until that one year period is done." The handling of operational flow around vulnerability management could be improved."
"In terms of what could be improved, some customers have a problem with SecurityCenter's ticket system. If I want them to assign one of the issues, they may want to assign someone to it or to assign it somewhere else and I may want to break up the ticket."
"One area which is missing is cloud security because there are a lot of configurations. Rapid7 has a product called a DV cloud. I would like to have a similar kind of solution and feature."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing for ManageEngine OpManager depends on the number of nodes you onboard and whatever pricing is reflected on the ManageEngine portal which offers discounts from ten percent to fifteen percent. It purely depends on the sales volume and the negotiation. In my organization, there are about one thousand two hundred nodes which cost around $29,000 per year. There's no additional support fee or maintenance fee from ManageEngine OpManager. Pricing for the solution is highly competitive and I would rate it five out of five. ManageEngine OpManager is one of the most competitive options out there."
"The product is not worth the money."
"I rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance."
"In terms of pricing, I would rate it a two out of five. It was expensive."
"The initial cost is low and the add-ons are reasonable."
"It is not really expensive; it is nominal licensing."
"We did a three-year deal where the cost is amortized over the three years. The Elite Support was an additional cost to the standard licensing fees... If you use Security Center, most of the time it is on-premise, so you're going to have some sort of infrastructure to build out and there's going to be a cost associated with that."
"Pricing-wise, it's fine. It's not an expensive product. That's not an issue."
