Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Safe attachments, safe links, policies, and the ability to protect from zero-day threats are the most valuable features.""The most valuable feature is protection against malicious links, fishing, and impersonation. You can train people to be aware of these threats, but they're not always careful. When they're using their phones between meetings, they click on a link, and it's game over.""The basic features are okay and I'm satisfied with the Defender.""The initial setup is straightforward. You just add the license, click it, and then you can set up the rules. It is quite simple.""Defender enables us to secure all 365-related activity from a single place. It gives us visibility into everything happening in Outlook, protecting us against phishing and other email-based threats. Defender helps us detect any suspicious behaviors.""At the moment we are satisfied with this product. It's a stable, scalable, and resilient solution for us.""I like its investigation capabilities, as that is what is most important to me. It is fairly simple with a user-friendly interface.""The product is not resource-intensive."

"The solution removes the limitations with file attachment size that is found with regular email.""The best part of this solution is that we can generate multiple reports about how the data is transferred and about user information or IP.""The most valuable feature is the ability to send a large file of 30 GB in size and more. In Outlook and other email applications, you cannot send files that are larger than 20 MB. But with Kiteworks, 30 GB is transferable by default and, with the proper approval, a file of up to 100 GB can be sent. It makes file transfer very easy and smooth.""The top two features are the two-factor authentication, which is pretty good. It's easily understood by the users. And their API is rather robust. We have numerous integrations that work off the API.""The most valuable aspect of Kiteworks is undoubtedly the private content network. This feature is particularly beneficial for us. Furthermore, it serves as a centralized platform that enables us to track and manage our information exchange.""We can see when people are sending things. We can definitely see who is sending to whom. From the administrative logs, we can see who is sending to an outside entity, and those logs are retained for quite a while.""The benefits that Kiteworks has provided to its customers in terms of data sovereignty.""I like Kiteworks or Accellion because it's continuously upgraded. I also know that it probably works with a lot of clients."

"The most valuable feature is that it protects from spam.""Setup was easy. It took about 30 minutes.""The most valuable features are the anti-spam, anti-phishing, anti-virus, and anti-spoofing.""The most valuable feature of SonicWall Email Security is the blocking of emails using keywords. If there are any particular keywords in the subject, that we want to block from receiving from a particular person we can do it. Additionally, the blocking of emails is easy. we can release that one and we can block some of the keywords also like that.""There are no wasted extras and the interface is really simple.""It is a very scalable solution.""This solution provides very good email security that protects us against spamming and malware.""The anti-spam aspect of the solution is its most valuable feature."

Cons
"Microsoft Defender for Office 365 should be more proactive.""The product must provide better malware detection.""The company should focus on adding threats that the solution is currently unable to detect.""About eight months ago, we started to measure the quantity of phishing and spam that we have been receiving, and it has been increasing a lot. That means that protection for our email is not as good as we were expecting.""Microsoft Defender for Office 365 must improve the overall management style, including the GUI. It also needs to change the filters so that it is easy to whitelist and blacklist data.""We need to be able to whitelist data at the backend.""The only thing they should improve is the licensing model. They should stop changing it. A year ago, the five features I mentioned were included in one product. Now, three of them are bundled into one product, and you have to pay extra for the other two. I don't mind paying extra, but I don't want them to change it every year or every six months. I need to know what I'm looking at and not worry about it next year.""One area for improvement is support, in terms of being able to reach them and, especially, technical support for configuration."

More Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Cons →

"It could be more stable. In the next release, it would be better if it was more stable with improved performance.""We have experienced a few hiccups and bugs when using the admin console and from a user perspective.""There is no offboarding process for end-users in Kiteworks. It's a manual process. There is no automated syncing with LDAP and checking to see if the account is still active. It's a manual process to get people out of here, which isn't the best way.""File location could be improved.""In my experience, their technical support can be a little slow.""It would be nice if Kiteworks could provide a free version of the platform so that it could be used for a certain number of file transfers. We could be charged a fee if we exceeded the number of allotted file transfers.""Kiteworks could benefit from enhancing the proposal knowledge base section, specifically regarding the type of work involved. Currently, the knowledge base seems insufficiently dedicated to this topic, making it challenging for new users to access the relevant administrative law. Improving the visual aids and providing clearer explanations could alleviate this issue.""The one feature, which I have also requested directly to Kiteworks, is to have a scheduled upgrade function. Currently, one of my engineers logs in after hours for the upgrade. We're a hospital, and we're 24/7, but the primary users are seven to five. So, we log in the early evening just to push a button to tell it to do the update. It would be nice if that could be very easily scheduled."

More Kiteworks Cons →

"They should integrate the solution with third-party platforms.""The reporting needs improvement.""We would like to see more information on a dashboard about what is happening when it comes to spamming and malware.""A lot of spoofed emails are still coming to the end-user, so the configuration for this option needs to be improved.""Updates could be released more frequently.""The protection level for email security isn't 100%. I'm still getting some spam and junk mail.""The technical support from the company is not always very good at solving issues, but they offer access to a good community of users where problems are easily solved.""The platform's control panel needs enhancement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It's a user-base subscription."
  • "From the pricing point of view, like any other product in the market, there is scope for negotiation."
  • "Defender is a little bit more expensive as compared to others. We are in the manufacturing environment. So, we don't have a high budget for all of our endpoint devices. Its cost is a major concern for us."
  • "For licensing, it's usually a yearly package for customers who are subscribed to Office 365, but they can also pay on a monthly basis."
  • "Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is an add-on to the Office license. Many customers are purchasing this solution."
  • "Microsoft Defender for Office 365 comes with Microsoft Windows. It is free with the operating system."
  • "The solution saves money so we have seen a return on investment."
  • "Defender for 365 comes in various plans and licenses, along with other Microsoft security solutions. Purchasing this kind of package or security bundle gives good value for money, and that's what I recommend."

  • "It is not really expensive. I mean, to me it's obviously expensive, but it's worth it."
  • "I believe it's a little costly, but given the faith that we put into it from a security perspective to maintain the integrity of our patient information that is being transferred through this system, that's a small price to pay. So, on the surface, it might look like a lot of money, but depending on the need for security, which is where we feel it shines, it's okay price-wise."
  • "They changed it midstream. We were being charged a certain flat rate for SFTP traffic. For whatever reason, at the beginning of the year, our pricing changed, and we are now being charged more for using a feature of the product than we were when we first bought it. That has been our experience with billing. It turned out to be more expensive than when we started with it."
  • "The license management is changing and confusing. If I could make one change to it, it would be better license management through the API."
  • "The price of Kiteworks is reasonable."
  • "The solution is very expensive because we are buying with Malaysian Ringgit and it's sold in US dollars."

  • "We have a two-year license subscription and the price is very high."
  • "When compared with Cisco, it is very well priced. Cisco is very expensive."
  • "The overall price of SonicWall Email Security should be reduced and there should be an option to purchase one or two licenses more instead of their current policy of bulk increases only. There should be more flexibility in the licensing model. Each license cost approximately $33 annually."
  • "The cost is cheaper than Sophos. I would rate it as five out of ten."
  • "Our customers purchase the solution's yearly license."
  • "I rate the application’s pricing a five out of ten."
  • "The platform offers a yearly license."
